Hey appletini u manage to get the game sync across devices? I can't find pvz2 on iCloud.. Example as SS
I've read through this thread but I am still a bit confused. What items can you only get through IAP exactly. I know you can unlock some of the plants but I see mixed things on which plants/Upgrades are IAP only
Ya the shame is that something like the jalapeƱo I will never get a chance to use as its not even reasonably priced. Ill play without and it sucks
Of the 32 plants available, 6 are IAP-based. These are: Snow Pea: slows zombies that it hits (Iceberg Lettuce and Winter Melon also fill that role). Power Lily: single-use, creates one plant food (this basically just gives you a plant food powerup without needing to spend 1,000 coins). Squash: single-use, kills the first zombie that gets close and also does AoE damage (the coconut cannon is similar in effect, but is ranged and remains in play after firing). Torchwood: doubles the damage of peas that pass over it. Jalapeno: single-use, destroys an entire lane of zombies (using plant food on a Spikeweed or Spikerock has much the same effect, but those two plants remain in play, unlike the Jalapeno). Imitater: can imitate any other plant, so you can have two of the same plant on your roster (effectively shortening the cooldown time of that plant, but giving up a slot to do so). Based on the pricing of the existing bundles and the impressive sales of the IAP as a whole, I don't think they're in any hurry to find ways to make less money right at the moment. Once the initial rush of players has died down and the game has been around for a while, you may see the prices change or new bundles introduced.
So the Single-Use plants, do you have to rebuy them? Also what about the other upgrades such as the Sun boost, Plant Food Boost, and Extra Seed Slot?
It's definitely not retina on my son's 4G after additional files are downloaded. That said, Almostcake should just be glad their 2009 era hardware is still supported at all from a big publisher. For perspective, 2K is largely ignoring the 5G touch simply because they don't want their games installed on the 4G touch leading to poor reviews because it won't run and/or crashes constantly, and Chillingo is being nearly as arbitrary. The 4G touch was just north of complete crap when it shipped in 2010; the intervening years have not made it any better.
Once you buy a plant, you never buy it again. In fact, it seems the plant can possibly be used across platforms (iPhone, iPad, PC etc) as your profile is interchangeable. Single use plants refer to their in game use. Their effect is a single action.
No, single-use means that once they are planted they perform their action a single time and then disappear, like the Cherry Bombs or Potato Mines. You can buy one of each of these, but you can also unlock one of each quite quickly through normal play; there are more in-game unlockable upgrades than IAP ones overall. Having played the game extensively, I really can't imagine getting any serious benefit out of the IAP upgrades.
Cool so there are actually 2 of each of the upgrades (i.e. 2 seed slots) one buyable and one findable?
It's "amazing" how many people complain for the sake of complaining at FTP without, crazy thought here, *trying* the game because there's evidently some perceived self-shaming at even downloading a FTP game. Like your time is too f'ing valuable to play a free game? The truly stupid part here is that the game is, essentially, $0/$20, with the difference between the $0 version and the $20 version being 6 plants you don't even need with the plethora of old and new plants available in-game, and that's it* (*OK, you might be able to spend more if you want second copies of the perks available in-game, not sure that works, but even if it does, ok, so you get moderately stronger perks over those who don't pay). Had they charged $4.99 for the existing game and reduced the IAP cost for single items/unlocks to $0.99 each and bundles to $1.99 each, people would be in here praising the sales model like it was the second coming and gushing at EA for taking the brave stance of premium pricing with sensible, optional IAP. But, give you a top-shelf quality game for $0 and hold back next to nothing but six unnecessary plants and suspicion, ignorance, and paranoia run rampant. Particularly amused at Topbeast's complaint as it's so kneejerk as to make me giggle - how do you pay enough attention to see the star system in place yet miss everything about it that matters? You never replay the same level for stars. You play the level normally on your way through unlocking a world and then you have to complete 3 separate special conditions challenges on that level for the stars. That $5 to unlock a world? Seriously silly complaint - I'm a little over a day into playing and already unlocked all 3 current worlds - if someone wants to spend $5 a world instead of earning the very, very modest star requirements in place by playing the game, that person is either just looking to toss the devs some money or they're extremely incompetent at this game. Otherwise, if you like playing the game, you're going to wind up earning the stars anyhow as a matter of meeting the challenges. I am extremely pleased with this game, to the point I hope revenue meets or exceeds their expectations because the sales model is so atypical. They're giving away a solid premium game here, and, in exchange, increasing the cost of the optional IAP. They're essentially saying to the freemium haters, "no harm, no foul", you get 100% of the core game for free without restrictions (the restrictions you insist on perceiving inside your own head they can't help ), and for those who don't mind paying their bills, they throw you some cool but balanced perks as a way of saying, "thanks". And before you waste precious energy typing, "but I'd rather just pay $X up front and get everything", please realize the silliness of what you're doing. This game costs between $0 to $34, pick the price you think it should have cost, and buy that amount of extras. It's the same thing and the extras you didn't buy aren't going to affect your game play one iota unless you're the sort of person who spends their time hating on the guy with the Delta Premium Club card at the airport.
Yep. In terms of non-IAP upgrades you can also unlock "Wall-nut First Aid", which lets you repair damaged defensive plants by planting directly on top of them, and "Instant Recharge", which lets you skip the cooldown of a plant by dropping plant food on its seed packet in your roster.
Hi guys! Ok, so I'm having a bit of a problem launching the game. It just crashes on the EA boot screen. I know someone else had this problem here, but I don't know if they found a remedy for it I read somewhere else that if I disable all my winter board themes it'll start, but that hasn't worked for me. And also I heard if you have I****ee (I'm pretty sure some of you know what that is) it won't start. But I don't have that. I'm legit when I purchase things on my iPhone. iPhone 5 jailbroken. Also tried reinstalling through iTunes on my computer and App Store on phone. Reboot, pretty much everything. Anyone else? Thank you! EDIT: nvm, got it.. Thank you anyways!
I'm just wondering if there is an in game store where you can purchase seed slots, plants etc. using in game coins.
Nope. Coins are only used for the powerups; you gain access to plants and upgrades by working your way through the main path and the locked side-paths that are opened via the keys the zombies drop.
Nope: you can get seven seed slots for free, but if you want access to the eighth slot, you'll have to pay for the privilege. That said, I have completed the whole game and often found it difficult to choose even six plants that I'd actually end up using in a level, let alone seven or eight. I don't think this is much of an issue, practically speaking.
