You know that you don't have to keep the Enchantment running and waste the Mana upkeep? You can cancel them in the Casting - Enchantments List screen.

    Which reminds me, @doomtrader:
That Enchantment overview does not show where any enchantment actually is. Would help if it would also list the city or unit name. I can't remember right off the bat if you can zoom to the city/unit by (double)tapping/holding it, though.

In other news, guide part 2 is making good progress. Just need to cover a few smaller topics (transfer from my handwritten notes) and put the finishing touches to it. Might have it sometime tomorrow afternoon.

    Where to send bug reports

If you would be so kind and would like to send a bug report, please push the email to:

    leszek.lisowski[at]wastelands-interactive[dot]com

I will forward them to the right guys.

BTW. The more info you provide the better. It would be great to have a description how to reproduce a bug, and a screenshot would be something awesome.

    @doomtrader:
Thanks a lot for the email address.
Will you take care of putting the bugs and requests reported in this thread into your pipeline? Or should we send them via email too, just in case?

One addition for my fellow forum people:
Always include your device, iOS version, and if jailbroken or not.
For crashes, sending the crashlogs along and stating if other apps were running as well also helps a lot.
Thanks for listening to this announcement, we will return to our normal program after the break ;)

I'm doing my best to follow the thread and catch everything.
However to be 100% sure that we will know about it just send it.

I'm relatively new to 4x games in general, having mainly played a little Civ 5 on my PC and some Civ Rev on my iPad. I've really enjoyed the time I've spent playing Civ V, but don't spend much time gaming on my PC. I love turn based strategy in general, and prefer playing stuff like this on my iPad.

As a complete newbie to the genre, would I be in over my head here? I'm definitely intrigued but the price point is just above my impulse buy threshold, and the Steam reviews for Worlds of Magic do not inspire confidence. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Question: how to see if a tile is corrupted? Exact effect?

Been wondering about this since I started an Unhallowed playthrough:
How/where exactly do I see if a tile is corrupted?
What is the exact effect of Corruption? Does it change the terrain type, e.g. from "Hills" to corrupted? Or is it an overlay / extra attribute on terrain/tile, like "Plains, corrupted=yes"?

In any case, I am missing two things ingame:
    1) A clear visual indicator that a tile is corrupted. Originally, I even mistook the black blubby swamp tile for Corruption. I just checked, and green grass just stays green when I cast Corruption on it; no change in visuals.
    2) A mention in the tile info (via mag.glass) . If it's a separate terrain type, show that. If it's an attribute, make the info window a bit larger vertically and show it.

Will send it as email to you too.

@citronaut: I'll be lazy and just point you to my two earlier posts ;)
    http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3786597&postcount=123 and http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3786729&postcount=135
In a nutshell: yes, you can play it as a newcomer, no problem. But if you want the full experience (all those insane details and interactions are the meat of the thing, after all) ... you'll be so far in over your head you'll come out the other side at near lightspeed ;) so better strap in and prepare to enjoy the ride. The helpful folks here will try to catch you, I'm sure. If you have questions, just ask away.

Thanks Nullzone. I'm pretty tempted - I'll hang around the thread and see if any other newbie imps roll in before making a decision, but I do really appreciate your response.

So... after cancelling that un-castable 'Healing Familiar' spell that I'd cast on Kathentira Dire—the very next turn I get a 'Robe of Power' from a fight with two settlers and now Kathentira struts about with 20 mana of her own.

What do you think? Would the 'Healing Familiar' spell work with her now? Even though she bears no official 'Caster' ability?

Is it worth a try to find out? She's a nice girl that Kathentira.

Broke down and grabbed it. As a new dad, deep games I can learn and play one-handed with my iPad sitting in a stand come at premium. Played up to the stopping point of the tutorial and think I'm really going to love it.

Excited to dive and and will almost certainly be back with questions!

Now that she has Mana, she should be able to cast. Did you try putting the spell back on her? 20 Mana makes for 2 Heal spells, nice to have in a pinch.

Nice, welcome to the fold ;)
And I understand you perfectly. While our kid is 4.5 already, he still keeps us incredibly busy. Being able to drag my game device around everywhere I want is great.

Alas, it still doesn't work. When she tries to cast 'Heal' (either on herself or any other unit of her party) the spell popup says 'Globe of Invulnerability' and offers only a 'Cancel' button. As before the only way to escape the situation is to use the unit switching button.

(note to @doomtrader: even if a unit can't cast a spell without the Caster ability... the above described behaviour would appear to be a bug...)

Poor unlucky Kathentira... Last night her mage went and forged for her a dashing 'Siege Heavy Crossbow' without realising that she can only wield melee weapons. :(

I had the "cannot cast spell, only hit Cancel" bug a few times too; but I haven't seen that "Globe of Invul" thing yet.
Sometimes it can be worked around by cancelling the spell, then cycling through your units with the "next unit" button; do something with a different unit, ideally attacking; then try again to cast, works sometimes.
I'll send an email to doomtrader later with my buglist so far, including this one.

re which items Heroes can use:
I am pretty sure Kathentira can use at least a Shortbow, maybe even a Longbow (need to check my savegames, I have her somewhere).
A few pages back, I suggested some improvements in this area; hope the good folks at Wastelands can make those work. And I hope that a list of which Hero can use which weapon/armor will be in the manual.
I think that the Heroes are split into several classes (Archer, Caster, light Melee, heavy Melee); said class determines what you can use. Need confirmation from the devs on that, though.

On an unrelated note, I just posted part 2 of the guide for your enjoyment ;)

Interesting! She's my first hero so I haven't any one else to compare her to but do notice on her equip screen (backpack screen) that she has 'outlined' spaces for a melee weapon and a shield... Can she also equip two-handed weapons?

    Excellent! Heading there now.

Found my savegame ;) There, I have both Kathendira and Monica Bloodblade.
Kath is explicitly described as an Assassin in her flavour text, while Monica is not. But from her visuals, the Sneak skill, and having the same weapon/armor class as Kath I'll put her in the same class.
Seems the light/heavy distinction applies for ranged and melee weapons, and armor. Just ran a test with crafting everything available.
I have another save with what should be a heavy Melee Hero, going by the Platemail he wears. Will run another test with that later.

    Our ladies can use:
    - Daggers. Both in the main hand, and in the shield/off-hand. They are the only weapon that goes into the off-hand for dualwielding.
    - All melee weapons in their main hand. With the exception of Spear and 1-handed Battleaxe.
    - Crossbow, Shortbow, 1H Wand: main hand.
    - Small shield
    - Armour: Padded, Leather, Studded, Chain Armour

    They cannot use:
    - 1H Spear, 1H Battleaxe
    - Longbow, Heavy Crossbow, 2H Wand
    - 2-handed melee weapons
    - Armour: Hide and higher. Seems Hide is where the heavy armour starts.

@doomtrader: Hide Armour should have its stats swapped:
Chain Armour is 4 Armour / 4 Dexterity. Scale Armour is 4/2. Hide is 3/4.
But the logical progression would be 4/3 for Hide.

Btw, Kath has a typo: Her name is given as Kathentira. But her flavour text says Kathendira, which I like better personally.

Sidethought: Would be a really great feature if Heroes could swap their ranged weapon for a melee weapon once they get into melee.
Limited of course to the lighter stuff like Dagger, Shortsword, normal Axe.
Historically, Archers carried backup weapons, for when things got close and personal.
Here's an example picture of an Archer's equipment at Agincourt: http://thomatkinson.com/media/portfolio/78/image/874_3.jpg
Note what seems to be a Misericorde on the middle left, above the mess kit. In the bottom middle we see what I'd classify as shortsword (but I am no weapons expert).

Should you consider implementing that, I think adding a third weapon slot for the "swap weapon" would work. Once you get into melee range, it swaps that weapon in, and you cannot switch back to ranged till the fight is over. When you leave the battle, it switches back to the ranged weapon automatically.

    Thanks for all that info!

Chapter 2 of your strategy guide is (again) well written and reasoned. Wasteland should hire you! However I'm slightly confused by this:

My city has a maximum population of 25, 78% food bonus, 22.5% production bonus.
On top of that, I have the following resources within the city borders (the colored border around the fields surrounding the city):
    3x Coal: +2 production / turn each
    1 Fertile Soil: +1 food / turn
    1 Wild Game: +2 food / turn

Surely the information provided by the surveyor (magnifying glass tool clicked on the city itself) includes the resources found within the city's boundaries? I.e. "On top of that" would seem to imply said resources are added "on top" of the information provided by the surveyor...

Ah well, I was hoping I could skip on going into more details there. Guess I'll be lazy and just tell people to wait for the manual ;)

Anyways, if it works like MoM (and I have no reason to think it doesn't, at least in general mechanics), it goes like this:
The terrain type controls the base food/prod bonus of your city:
E.g. Mountains give more prod, but less food. Plains the other way around.
That's a percentage increase for whatever you have in that city, example: 10 base Prod, 50% prod bonus, new value = 15 Prod.
Resources add fixed amounts to the base values. The 3 Coal add 6 to our hypothetical 10 base Prod. New base value = 16. +50% from terrain bonus makes 24 total Prod.

I'll try to include that in the guide, thanks for pointing it out!

Wow that surprises me. Why on earth wouldn't the surveyor tool include all the bonuses in its calculation?

Edit: cf. page 21 of the Worlds of Magic manual.
