That probably would have been enough to get me back into this game, along with the bug fixes. Too bad. I highly doubt players enjoy re-rolling their starts when they begin the game with no resources and a max population of 11
Its not like its long to remake your game's settings... honestly... If just that takes you away from the game i dont know what to say, sounds to me youre trying too hard to be unpleased.
That's a fair comment and I can see how you'd find it "weak". I don't have a ton of time to play this game, shy of flights. It's time consuming adjusting the landmass and continental configuration of 8 planes, then adjusting the game settings, followed by customizing a sorcerer. Any time saved so I can enjoy the game is appreciated and I'm sure otherswould like the ability to save a wizard preset... I think.
I figured with som bug fixes this game may be playable again... I was wrong. 7 opponents on the hardest difficulty, 3 killed already, 3 heroes maxed out. Spell of domination being cast and I get kicked from my game. No big deal, memory issues happen. Reboot the game and now it won't fully load, same bull$h1t as before. The blue loading bar stops 3/4s of the way but the background never changes. Fix this stuff already, it's game breaking. $50+ dollars for this game with all the DLC and you can't even play it. Go do productive game fixes that make the game playable. I have to turn off the sound effects because all I hear is a guy walking in the background the entire time and now I can't even finish my game. Don't go charging people an arm and a leg for a beta game, like I said before.
Lickzy, this game clearly does not work on your machine, weren't you supposed to get a refund already? Also, did you ever properly report those bugs you're experiencing? Sent saves or provide clear reproduction steps on the Tech Support board?
@Lickzy - out of interest (probably mentioned already but I'm too lazy to read back!), what device are you playing this on and which iOS version? Is anyone else experiencing the problems Lickzy had mentioned? Just curious as trying to decide whether to fork out for the whole thing or hold fire.
I remember that I had similar issues when I played large games with max number of Planes and Enemies: Crashes and savegames getting corrupted. I am on an iPad Air1, since today iOS 9.3.2. When I read "iPad Mini" I assumed it only has 512MB RAM, but the Mini4 actually comes with 2GB, so I am pretty sure running out of memory should not be a problem. Unfortunately I am currently way too busy with other stuff to play a long game with max Planes/Enemies @Lickzy: Did you send your saves to Wastelands? That should help them pinning down the root cause. Also, do you get the same problems when you play smaller games? My standard for fiddling around and writing the guides was 2-3 large/gigantic-size Planes, and max. number of allowed Enemies. Those worked without problems after the initial bugfixes. But I never got past turn 150 or so with those games, most ended between turn 75 and 125. @ZS77: As long as you stick to smaller than max games, everything should be fine.
@Nullzone: I will send the saves to Wasteland and No, I never had issues with smaller games. In fact, I have completed games with max enemies and max planes before without issue. I'm not sure if the problem triggers after X amount of turns. I have never paid that close of attention to it
@Lickzy: Weird stuff for sure, especially because you currently seem to be the only one who has these problems, at least AFAIK. I checked Wastelands' forums earlier today, and couldn't find anything even remotely similar. @Wastelands: Do you have any automated tests in place that could cover this, ideally with different parameters? E.g. max Planes and Enemies, but put the AI on hold so it doesn't do any actions, and you can just count up turns without getting attacked; or only enemy AI and no Neutrals, but spamming as many units on both sides as possible. Questions for everyone: Does anyone play large games on the big iPad Pro? With 4 GB of RAM, it has the least risk of running out of memory with a lot of stuff flying around. So if yes, how are things going for you? @Wastelands: Do you have any data on devices used? Maybe you can add a survey or such?
After Update Post update issues: - Features on map will still occasionally become detached from the terrain when you try to scroll the strategic map (everything BUT the terrain scrolls around). This is fixed with a save and a reload of the game. - city naming - when you click a city name to rename it, and hit "Enter" instead of "Done", the font of the city name shrinks, and continues to shrink each time you hit enter until it is a speck on the screen. Shrinking a city name by hitting the enter key more than once somehow corrupts the game file, and the program locks up during load. This is an reproducible unrecoverable game ending bug (unless you go back to a pre-shrink save)
First one didnt happen to me yet. Second one i can confirm, i can reproduce, to add, if you tap the city name and press cancel, it will always show your first citys name, no matter which city youre on, when you quit the city screen it all goes back to normal though.
