    Unfortunately, I just deleted my old saved games and started a new one so I can't check. I either tapped the arrow for next like equipping a second weapon, or I have tried tapping the area where I want the trying to go. I remember having problems with that the first time playing too.

    It's the little arrows :)
    Select the primary ring, then hit the right-arrow. Even if it doesn't show an empty slot, but e.g. your shield slot, it still works.
    Same goes for weapons: select primary, then right-arrow.

    Just found this site through a QnA article. I'm so glad someone is talking about this game and making some fantastic strategy guides. The spell lists are especially appreciated. On the same site they just posted a review for PQ: https://explorminate.net/2016/04/18/mobile-experience-planar-conquest/

    I think they were a little harsh. How about you guys?

    I read that review too, and it felt a lot like he played a different game.
    Unresponsive UI? Never had a problem with that.
    Lots of other examples that sound totally-off-the-wack to me. I don't have the time right now to critique it in detail or post a reply.
    But I wouldn't worry too much about a site that seems to be, let's say "not too influential". Alex rank ~1 million (TA is ~17.000, for comparison).

    UPDATE: Just saw what I consider a pretty ridiculous comment over there, so it looks as if I'll reply at least once..
    Scratch that part, I just got his tone "into the wrong throat" - not sure how that German saying goes in English. Shows that answering when not calm is rarely a good idea.

    after just fiddling around for about an hour i do see some of the points the reviewer made.

    i totally disagree on a lot of it though even after an hour, some points he makes are just plain "free hate" on some aspects.

    for one, i dont understand any of his complaints regarding combat, even after only using some basic units i find it to be very fun and good, strategic enough, even if not A WHOLE LOT, still way more strategic than "click this enemy and the fight will happen"

    i dont understand the hate towards the UI either, it does take some time to get used to, im blaming half of that on the fact i use an iphone 6s plus though, but its actually well thought out.

    it does remind me a lot of HoMM, and thats a good thing !

    ill be able to play more tonight and leave my own impressions even though im no reviewer...

    all in all i think this reviewer was way too negative, maybe of because of what happens with WoM.

    In all due respect @doom , i can understand people being a bit held back because of the "WoM episode" even though i didnt play it... what i heard wasnt very... positive :/
    that shouldnt come into account for a reviewer's review though.

    Anyhow, im glad so far i gave this game a spin, i see myself most likely to buy the complete pack down the road as well, having a full fledged pc experience on mobile feels great.

    Gathering RP Issues

    I've noted that when I claim an RP chest, or defeat a location that awards RP, I get an info box (or post-battle debrief) that indicates that I have been awarded X RP. I do not, however, see a corresponding increase in RP on the magic/research tab. I'm getting the increase in RP from my cities each turn, but not as rewards from the field - thoughts?

    Just to be clear, RP is represented by the book icon under the magic tab, correct?

    Game Ends Abruptly

    Simce the last two patches I have had a number of games end before real resolution. There were still several AI wizards active but the victory score screen pops up. After that there is no way to go on. This type of ending never happened prior to 1.2.3.

    @Nullzone have you encountered this issue?

    You should see the RP increase from chests etc. on the small green progress bar under the spell you are currently researching. The easiest way to check if those still work correctly in v1.2.3 - they always did before - is to research a low-cost spell and then grab an RP chest. If e.g. the spell only costs 20RP to research, and you get 40RP from the chest, it should be completed instantly.

    @4Xgames: I cannot comment on that, since I haven't played at all since the 1.2.3 release, too busy with other things currently.
    If you still have a save where you can reproduce this, best send it to Wastelands.

    This game is very good, and is the first I've ever played that comes close to replicating the MoM experience.

    That said, I would really really appreciate the ability to name cities.

    Highly recommended.

    He seems pretty bitter. Other than a few non-game breaking bugs, I've had lots of fun. He just seems to take a jab at for anything. I believe he is also wrong in calling the cost sickening. You obviously can't give this game away for free or you won't make money, but you also can't put something on the App Store for $33 and hope people buy it.

    I honestly don't think the reviewer played as many hours as he said. If he had, then I don't think he would have run into as many problems. A lot of his criticism were solved after the first two patches. We're on version 1.2.4 now. I doubt he played past version 1.1

    Damage Glitch

    I'm not sure if this is a glitch and if it isn't, could someone please tell me what I did to achieve this.

    I made a +5 wand for a hero and the damage on it is 115-667???!!!

    Is that correct? And if it is, how the heck can I duplicate that?

    The latest page of this thread is a great example as to why we don't put a ton of emphasis on reviewing games like this, by the way. Dude spends 15 hours playing a game, writes a 5,000 word review on it which also features a second opinion at the end and it's still dismissed as "not fair." Over the years it's become pretty clear that once a game reaches a certain level of fan following in the forums, we basically just can't touch it, as anything anyone says about it short of just showering the game with praise just get disregarded... Which sort of makes all the time/effort we'd put into reviewing complex games like this totally wasted.

    I do appreciate your 'Update Monday' article to put significant updates on display. It was nice to get a nod there for Planar Conquest, as well as some Trese Brothers games, which I also love. Thank you :)

    The RP gets applied to whatever you are currently researching (is my understanding), so you will finish your current research more quickly.

    I think they are pretty harsh, looks like they played an early version. Also, my guess is that they were burned/unhappy with the Worlds of Magic/Steam experience... those people tend to have a negative bent going into commenting on PQ. Until the dev gets this game on Steam PC/Mac/Unix and delivers it to the installed base of WoM, they are going to get slammed in comments, etc... for PQ.

    PQ in it's current version 1.2.4 is stable, mechanics work well. The review didn't do it justice. Oh well.

    4X, definitely follow the instructions to submit a saved games (basically, save the game using the name 'sendSaves'). This will send your game to the dev in its current state. A bug post on their forums referencing your sent game and details.

    I sent a game yesterday that was having an issue with continuing the game after killing off one city, due to the game freezing. So after several reloads and retries, I simply left that one alone and went to the main city where the sorcerer lord was, and killed him. Game ended. Technically that other city was still in existence, but maybe the game didn't recognize it correctly? These late game bugs will get chased down, but sending the saves to the dev will really help speed things up.

    My guess is that it's a display issue. There are still a couple parts of the game (unrest % comes to mind) where the displayed number is really wonky (divide by 1 instead of 100 type coding boo-boos for the displayed number). But try the weapon out, see what it can do.

    If you still have that game, I'd recommend sending it to the devs so it can get corrected in the next release. :)

    Definitely not a "display only" issue. The bad boy one shots most everything it hits.
