The tutorial bug has been patched and already sent to Apple. It releases next week as an update. In the game, on the main screen, there's a Twitter icon. You can tap on it, and it takes you to their Twitter. You will see there in their twitter feed where they mention it's been fixed and releases next week No worries, like you, I bought all the content on the spot. We are safe I posted some walkthrough videos from YouTube. Should help you in the meantime. They did for me. Videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZgbJ7IH6KJY1P9hB5hw27AnjWlpCARej
With the crappy exchange rate in Australia the base version is $19.99 and full DLC is $30.99 Which is I'd really like to know the difference (from a gameplay perspective) between the Starter pack and Landscape of Caldrean which is $11 cheaper.
Here are a few differences between Worlds of Magic (WOM) and Planar Conquest (PC) that I believe are true: 1. PC has a better UI than WOM. 2. In WOM you may have 2 more units per square than in PC 3. In general PC has less bugs than WOM. 4. PC currently has no sound effects but WOM does. I believe this is a bug that has been reported. A few other points on PC: It is the only fantasy 4X game that I have found for the iPad. Planar Conquest is also a lot of fun and very deep by iPad game standards. It is also the closest thing to Master of Magic that I expect we will see for the iPad.
To sum up. The tutorial bug has been fixed. No sounds in Planar Conquest is just a bug, during corrections before the final submission the sounds has been muted in the engine, so basically they are playing with 0% of the volume. Sorry about that. In the patch submitted it has been already fixed. And here is the full list of changes for the patch we have already submitted: Changelog: -Fixed tutorial block Druid spellcasting. -Fixed ui and units sounds. -Fixed version label in main menu -Fixed Fountain Of Life Feature -Fast movement no longer doubles view range -Fixed armies roster hint icon visible on forge window when opened from armies roster -Fixed Draconians Hunter and Tracker animations. -Fixed drag drop in cities queue -Fixed desertion notifications crashing ui -Fixed desertion notifications crash during load -Fixed remaining turn counter not appearing immediately after starting restoration -Fixed wrong icon for the above -Fixed AI attack army standing on gateway exit -Fixed Volcanic Ruins Feature -Fixed Ancient Ruins Feature -Fixed remaining turn counter after load crash -Toggling autobuild will now refresh available buildings -Tutorial fixes -Fixed missing summoning spells for hero level up We are doing our best to squash all the bugs you guys report or those we are able to track by ourselves. (This game is huge did I mention it?) However as the updating system is not so easy as on STEAM, it usually takes a bit longer that I would like to, to publish the changes. (we are sending this to publisher - Shortbreak, publisher uploads it to the itunes, and then Apple needs some time to do the review.) Thanks for your feedback, kind words and support.
@doomtrader have you considered using Apple's TestFlight mechanism for advanced beta builds? It allows developers to push out updates to their most avid (and demanding) users much quicker than the normal turn around time.
We are using Testflight. But again it is two step process. one is internal for our team to check the game and one is on the side of publisher to check the store functionalities etc. I'm pretty sure that when some most urgent bugs will be squashed we will gather few volunteers and give them access to our Testflight. I will let you guys know!
Question: Terrain effect on population by race @doomtrader: I got a question about which effect terrain has on the max. population. The Death School has a spell to change Plains etc. into Tundra. So I assumed that Unhallowed would thrive best on corrupted Tundra. But seems I am wrong: the max. pop went down by a few, food bonus went down (which makes sense), and production bonus went up a bit. I assume this kind of detail information (list of terrain effects by Race) will be in the manual?
Crafting +Mana items @funambulist: A bit back you asked how to give more Mana to Heroes. And I replied that the +Mana items are pretty expensive to craft. I played with that yesterday, and turns out I am only partially right. Adding the +20 Mana enchantment to e.g. an Armour is expensive. But Ring, Cloak, Helm with that only cost 100 Mana to craft, very affordable even early on. I have 2 casting Heroes on my Bones play, and just outfitted them with the whole set. Admittedly that I do not have any expensive spells to cast right now did help a lot with having enough Mana for that; 6 items added up to 600 Mana, which could give you quite some nice Summons, for example. @doomtrader: Also, looks like I found another bug: The equipment screen shows 2 Ring slots, but I can only equip one.
And another one @doomtrader (albeit cosmetic): Cirrym the Learned showed no helmet slot on his equipment screen until I equipped one! @Nullzone: any idea about how 'Will Saves' work in relation to Basilisks? (i.e. the question I asked late last night...)
hey guys, I'm the designer responsible for PC, I'll try to help doomtrader with your questions. You can use the blue arrows in the lower part of the equipment screen to toggle between fingers (you can do the same with hands in case of weapon/shield) yup. we're on it. If you open the Basilisk's unit panel, there's the Difficulty Class of its gaze in the attack/defense tab. Any enemy must roll a d20, add his Will save bonus, and if the sum equals at least 14 (in this case), he resist the petrification effect.
It would appear that those little blue arrows don't always show up! (They did for me when I first checked after reading your explanation but now have ceased to do so.)
It would also be nice to be able to check a unit's stats and abilities when actually on the battlefield. Or am I missing something?
Hello Edwin, and welcome to TA! Great to see you joining us. Repeating myself, but saying again that you folks did an absolutely amazing job with Planar! Thanks for the toggle info, will try that later. I just got the helmet bug too. Great to hear you are working on it already. Didn't know how the Willsaves/DC were displayed in detail, thanks a lot for clarifying.
You can do that When in a battle, tap on the unit. At the top of the screen, an infobar will show up. Tap on the unit portrait to bring up the infoscreen. Very handy feature.
Of course that makes sense. I've tried that many times. Unfortunately it is not working for me. UPDATE: Apologies! Just tried again. And found the UI requires a very short tap to bring up the required info rather than a longer press. My bad.
We are still adjusting the tapping longevity. For the touch devices, we need to support choosing an icon and displaying the tooltip in the same place. So in general, just tap if you want to perform and action and hold when you are looking for feedback about specific functionality.
