Can someone explain to me how to get a high score ? I cannot manage to kill everybody with a low cure %

For a high score... Pick virus on brutal and infect india. Upgrade random mutation chance as soon as you can... Do this 3 times. Then work on transmission until you have water (because india is humid and you need it to infect islands) rodent (for infecting asia and india), bird (for fast spread), air, and livestock (to help spread across europe). By now it should be rediculously virulent and fast spreading. The UK should be infected. The UK/norther europe and the US/central/south america are now your primary concern - these are the gateways to greenland, iceland and the carribean. Do whatever it takes to infect these - usually involves drug/cold res 1&2. Make sure every country is gaining infected population (all the hosts arent dying). It is usually better to devolve more than 1 slightly lethal traits than to devolve hemorrhagic shock/organ failure. It is key to kill people as you go. Decrease cure development by any means necessary - it takes a toll on your score. If anything goes wrong, try again. This is a great way to learn how countries react to various disease attributes, and how to make the infection explode as soon as a country is innoculated. Of note, it is interesting that playing to the vulnerabilities of your starting region (ie, starting in india and buffing hot climate infection) makes a big difference in global spread. I won before the end of 2013 with <35% cure for over 40,000 points. Can you beat it? What strategies do you use? Also, to you most venerable game designer: please, please, please add a bigger name slot. I cant even name my disease "AggroVir-1", much less crypysporidiosis or ankylosing spondylidis (the second one isnt an infectious disease - its just fun to say).

I have a pretty good Nano-virus strategy that I've figured out. So far my best score is about 59,000 and 5 out of the past 6 games have been above 50,000. Start in Saudi Arabia As soon as you pop the first red bubble, buy Insomnia and Paranoia You should now have 3 DNA points so buy Code fragment interception Buy Air I (cure should be 20-30%) Buy Code segment interception (cure should be 30-40%) Buy Air II (other countries will get infected very soon after this) Buy Water I/II Buy Extreme Bioaerosol At this point, the cure should be anywhere from 75-95% complete. If the cure is 75-85% complete, buy Drug resistance I followed by Blood I If the cure is 85-90% complete, buy Drug resistance I The key here is that when the cure reaches 95%, you have the 6 or 7 DNA points to buy Radical elements stabilised. You want to put this upgrade off as long as possible, so buy Drug resistance I and Blood I if you can without risking the cure completing. As soon as you buy Radical elements stabilised, buy: Genetic Hardening I/II Seizures Insanity Inflammation Paralysis Coma Next buy Drug resistance I and Blood I if you haven't already Buy Cold resistance I/II Buy Drug resistance II Buy Drug immunity (near the special abilities) Next you want to get to Necrosis. Go through the coughing route unless Rash has been mutated (in which case you go the Rash route). Once you have bought Necrosis, save your money until all countries have been infected and the last infected country (and Greenland) have at least 1000 people infected. Buy Total Organ Failure (postpone by about 15 seconds if Dysentery or Hemorrhagic shock mutated on their own) Buy Hemorrhagic Shock Buy Genetic Reshuffle I/II/III Buy Encryption breached At this point the whole world should be infected or close to it.You can spend your DNA points on whatever you want but make sure that you save AT LEAST 20 for the next step. The last step is the most critical for getting a high score. Once the world population reaches around 10,000-20,000 (pay attention because it happens quickly), you need to buy Broadcast Interceptor. The timing of this is very important because the Broadcast Interceptor will lower the cure by around 10-15% but only for two weeks so you MUST win the game within that time for the 10-15% lower cure. At the end you should have between 30-45% cure completion and it should take 350-450 days. On my best run, I ended with 30% cure and it took 353 days. The final score ended up being 58960 which is my best with any disease type. I hope this helps anyone who has trouble with Nano-virus or anyone going for a new highscore. This mutation order is what I have found to work the best for me but there will probably be things that can be tweaked and improved. If anyone finds some way to improve this strategy please let me know
Hey all, I'm really struggling on how to improve my score in Plague Inc. I've beaten the game on Brutal mode, but the strategy of "silent transmission until world is infected -> sudden onset of severe symptoms" doesn't seem to be able to get me past 3 stars (er, biohazard symbols). It's been driving me crazy and if I at least knew how the points were tabulated, I could devise my own strategy. I see global high scores in the hundreds of thousands and mine is 16k :-\ Does anyone have advise or pointers for this? Even vague hints would be welcome.
ambut: I consistently see impossibly high scores on scoreboards for all iPhone games. (From experience playing other games, even getting perfect scores and all the achievements doesn't get you anywhere near those sorts of numbers). It led me to the conclusion that they are hacked; a google search confirmed it. Anyway, I ignore them and look scores further down that are within normal ranges as benchmarks. My best scores are for bioweapon and nano-virus on brutal however I'm focused on the achievements more than numbers. The hacked scoreboard has taken a lot of the fun out of that aspect of iPhone games. Hopefully in the future these cheaters will be removed.
Yeah, I would believe that the scores are from hacked games. Still, though, it's obvious that the game designers intended for better scores than mine since I'm only getting 3 out of 5 possible stars. I've been trying more aggressive strategies (allowing mutations to happen without devolving them, starting to increase lethality even when not everyone is infected) in the hopes that time is a major factor in the score, but I'm still getting three bio-hazard symbols. I can't seem to win the game in much less than two years (though it obviously varies depending on the pathogen - the nano-virus and bioweapons significantly accelerate the timeline). Anyway, thanks for the note about the cheaters...I agree that it takes some of the fun out of the game.
Does anyone know whether the Symbiosis abilities of Parasite mean you can have more symptoms (other than coughing) without getting noticed?
Yes, if you keep your symptoms to those below level 3 (you can have more than one)... You will not be noticed....
Patience is the key - don't spend DNA in the 1st place is better than spend and devolve. My variations 1) start in China, insect 1, blood 1, drug 1, gene 1, symbiosis 1, sit back and wait. If cold countries get colder message take cold resist 1 otherwise wait. If ships using new filters take water 1 otherwise no way to infect Greenland. 2) start in Russia, then as above. Starting in Russia means you can ignore the cold countries message, but you may have to take heat resist 1. Either method, devolve any symptom in top half, keep non lethal in bottom half. Devolve rash, cough, nausea etc, but keep insomnia, cysts and anaemia as these let you get the lethal ones of inflame, seizure, haem shock etc with less points spent. Symbiosis 1 keeps the severity below the alert level, take symbiosis 2 if necessary I usually have about 250 DNA points at 100% infect. Go wild on lethal symptoms but also paranoia, insanity, paralysis etc to slow cure. Generally I get 85,000 pts (4 bio hazard markers) with cure at 7% after using shuffle 1,2 and 3 from the DNA points gained from killing everyone.
Bio weapon brutal, after update 1.3 They said its been made more difficult and now I cannot complete it, anyone got any tips on how to do it since the recent update?
I've been having trouble beating it to.. I've tried this strategy 3 times, and every time i get to 99% of humanity infected, and a lot of it killed, and stupid greenland and iceland end up having like 1000 people left each and the rest are killed, and i loose.
hey, thanks for the above, i just completed the one above on the new brutal setting and it worked, i couldnt work out which country had people left i think it was iran and around that area, the cure finished at 86%. the last 40,000 humans were falling but not overally fast then it got to 13,000 and i was like this is becoming stupid as it started falling by hunderds. What i noticed was that with 600 million people left the death toll was rising pretty fast so i added points on to the special ability NAN as didnt have any on this, it helped the rate slow up which meant more people were around to pass on, when it would then start to pick up, go in and add another. i then tried adding on a couple of minor symptoms like rash to infect more in different ways, i was left with 12,000 odd people left to infect and a death toll falling rapidly so i had 21 dna points left and debated about adding more to genetic reshuffle but instead i thought i will try get these last few gone, i put 20points on to the ability you get once the air and water are on 2 each, i clicked it, let it play for a moment and it popped up, saying no more healty people left in the world, then they all died. Now i have the worm virus to contend with.
Adding Necrosis and a few infectious symptoms and other transmission attributes makes it work better as well. I've now finished beat all of them, including the Neurax Worm on brutal.
The thing about bio, is not to treat it like the others. Infect, Abilities, symptoms. One of BIO,s abilites for 3 levels of Gene Comp, Deact Mod Gen and NAN is a special 100% infect, 100% lethal ability for about 23/24 points. So all I do is infect, infect and infect more Start in China - balanced client only need cold 1 to get greenland/iceland. or Start in Russia - Cold already so will need heat 1, but has a port near Greenland/iceland helps get them infected earlier Get GC, DMG and NAN as soon as you can and keep upgrading them to level 3 Insect 1,2 and blood 1,2, water 1 or air 1 depending on which (ship/plane) uses filters. Starting in China/Russia you will need insert/blood to infect Africa. Spare points on cough, pneumonia, cysts and hyper to speed up cold/rich infect. Don't bother with any other symptoms Once 100% infect go the Bio special, if it goes lethal before then go necrosis so the bodies it kills still infect.
