Given what he said about slowing cure speed given max lethality, it means that there definitely needs to be a trigger that would prevent counties from maxing research. Getting them to fall into anarchy is not an option. At least that is good to know.
One thing I'm still confused about: the bar in the cure menu. Can someone break it down for me? I'm guessing blue means progress on cure, white is amount left? What's black indicate and what do the numerical values mean? --- One more question: do seasons and time of year affect anything? Like more intercontinental travel during summer and around holidays? Is the population more susceptible to sickness during winter time? Stuff like that
I think that the people getting killed because of CR is because of the extremely aggressive properties of the virus and the metabolic needs the virus causes. I think this is also how the animal transmissions 2 work. The virus activates its aggressive traits I the host.
I agree it's impossible as the game stands now to get the countries into anarchy fast enough to stop the research conducted. However, I am noticing something interesting in the Cure Requirement graph - anyone notice that as you add symptoms that slow research speed - the Cure Req line becomes an increasing curve (at a significantly faster rate than I've seen in any other disease type). So evolve everything but Hyper Salivation & Gastro - and hope the world dies fast enough that the Research Conducted curve does not catch up to upward rising Cure Requirement curve. Also a bit of luck - as you have to hope you don't mutate CT but one of those (Hyper & Gastro) symptoms left. The reason I grab Polyphagia as well as Autophagia & Cannibalism - is to get Bath Time. Not sure if this helps but hell - why not if you can afford it. The furthest I've got is 3b dead after 100% infection.
Logic All a/t/s not enough to kill enough or slow cure speed enough According to jshawn post, almost impossible to get countries to fall fast enough to affect cure speed. Conclusion: find a trigger that prevents countries from conducting research in the first place. Possible clue: Bat description says "...include bats which are hard to detect" Bats also unique to necroa. Have played around with variations but no luck yet.
I've noticed that as well, there does seem to be a infection limit at which point your virus mutates as if it wants to be discovered. I've reached 100% infection before easily, with only 2 mutations(I used the Creationist gene, and I still got 2...), but once I hit 100% it mutated like 5 seconds later, so I just bought all of the lethal symptoms, and within like 20 days they had the cure done...on casual. So, obviously we are going at this wrong, there has to be some special trigger or combo to boost lethality or severity, as even getting max lethality and severity isn't good enough to stop the cure. I'd suggest we forget about trying to infect everyone and then slamming down the hammer. I'm going to see if I can get something to come up, maybe getting your virus irradiated mutates it so much it make the cure nearly impossible to get... or something like that. Or maybe the solution is so obvious that James is laughing at our ideas.
I was tempted to manually increase the lethality of Insomnia to 100 or something but I decided not to bother after all. It's easy to do any hack on Plague Inc (or any other non-internet app) without jailbreaking your device. All you need is a little bit of reverse engineering. In any case, I will wait for the breadcrumbs.
Hmm, maybe we can trigger some bat population increase? Then that combined with Bat II would cause bats to swarm like crazy and kill a ton of people?
Martial law+Water supplies being shut down=General Disruption. I think that we are focusing on the wrong thing here. We are trying to wipe out humanity but what if all we have to do is make them destroy themselves?
I've suggested that before, I was thinking we could get DarkWater to maybe wipe out humanity, or maybe get the Egyptian gods to wipe out humanity, or something involving the major figures in the origin achievements. Or maybe we got to get Spalin to nuke everyone and cause a full out thermonuclear war? I've been going at it but no luck so far. Anyone try this yet?
All the origin achievements require CR at which point you get zombies and fail the achievement. I have had president sick, but the cure gets to 100% way before Spalin gets voted in, let alone issues a threat. Plus there is no insanity or paralysis symptom directly in Necroa. I am edging back towards a race, the idea being to spend our DNA on abilities / transmissions and let symptoms mutate. The key is the right transmissions to cause maximum disruption when governments take action, e.g. Water 1/2 to shutdown water supplies.
I don't specifically mean get the origin achievements, just trigger the start of them, and maybe there is a special trigger from there, one that doesn't need zombies but leads to the world ending up dead. But that's unlikely. A combo of some type has got to be the answer.
I tried the race, with many variations, including what u proposed. It doesn't work. While the idea of using govt action to our favor seems appealing, it is hard to get it to work. We have tried every combo, we would have come across something. jshawn evolved max lethality and could only bring govs down effectively at 75% dead. Disruption doesn't stop the clock enough, u need anarchy and we know thats not possible. I'm more inclined that we need to prevent govt action rather than try to use it.
Like nothing... The only trait that starts from "N" is Naja Mortis which requires CR. This theory is false.
