If you read back a page or two, there were talks about using base hydrolysis in your starting genes. By starting the game and buying a certain amount of abilities, it will mutate both abilities and therefore less symptoms allowing to get get 100% infected. Purchase from drug 1 to GRS 2 with the exception of drug 2 works for me.
Using the base oxidation approach I got to 3.5 billion dead today, but it was a pretty lucky run that allowed me to save up 170 DNA and mutated Bat 1 before giving me the first symptom. I wonder if in this latest update they tweaked how often the necroa mutations occur? Seems like they were coming more slowly.
Where did you start? Best I have at 100% infection is 150DNA and I'm using CS for the DNA boost gene. 3.5 billion dead is good but that leaves another 3.3 left, and as countries break down their research slows, it doesn't stop. If NAZG is beat the clock we somehow have to be considerably faster or slow down the clock. There must be something we are missing?
There is definitely something we are missing, and I feel like it's staring in the face. Watch it's gonna end up being something obvious that was overlooked. Ive tried everything I can possibly think of, just trying to rely on luck at this point.
I've been starting in USA and stalling for DNA time by not evolving anything until the common cold message at 1.7B infected. But I agree we must be missing something because it doesn't seem close enough that more DNA alone would move the needle at this point.
So I hate to say anything but after the update I had the two special plagues, and I never paid for them.
We have to find a way to force countries into anarchy faster. The fastest I've ever managed was 80-85ish % of cure.
Wouldn't it be funny if there was a specific way to do it, for example forcing countries into anarchy, and someone just randomly manages to brute-force NAZG without doing it by getting extremely lucky? XD
So far only paranoia (delirium/psychosis combo?) and severity seem to have any kind of effect in NAZG. Theoretically, if we could fine an alternative way to reach 100%, we would beat NAZG. Although, BH allows 100%, it also speeds up the cure by 10%. If we could find a way to reach 100% with GM instead (15% slow down), things would be easier. PS. Oh mah gawd! Be right back, testing a new theory. I "discovered" something last night but I only now actually realized it...
I feel dumb... I think I had the solution in my hands all this time and I was leading us in wild goose chases... Remember that I told you that the first time I won the game in brutal it was by remaining hidden until the last moment? Well, that was true but I could never replicate it so I thought it was hotfixed... Apparently, it was not... You will get random mutations at specific milestones, 3.5B infected, 4.5B infected etc etc. If you devolve them, the game will evolve new abilities directly, but why? It's because the game checks to see how much DNA you have spent so far on buying skills (devolving costs do not count, only "active" DNA). In my first brutal win, I had a lot of transmissions and abilities prior to getting CR. As a matter of fact, I remember having so many that I barely managed to get CR. I also had to devolve a few times. If this theory is true, we must find a perfect balance between the following: The DNA required for evolving enough transmissions (most transmissions speed up mutations, some do not) and abilities. The DNA required for the devolves (I'm thinking around 35-45). The DNA you need for the "golden five" (aka, Psychosis, Coma, Delirium, Cannibalism, Acute Encephalitis). If this works, then we could enable GM and hope for the best.
It seems that the above strategy works best if you save up DNA first and once you get mutations, you devolve them and you evolve a transmission or ability in their place. You still need to have a couple of skills in advance, maybe cold, heat, drug 1...
My maths Where does the GM 40% come from From sniffing the genes.txt file I see only change_to_cure_base_multipler of 0.15. The gene description is harder to cure not slower to cure? Just asking, so I understand the maths.
James did say he would make it easier, didn't say when, maybe he just did. Could the forced mutations and using them to our advantage (possibly as per Celestus87s last posts) be the key? We can get to 100% infected, can we do it with the clock slowed enough and enough DNA for the symptoms mentioned by Celestus87
Yep - minor mistake on our part! Enjoy them - will go back to normal next update I have not made any changes to this yet, still watching and listening - will say so in update notes if I make changes here
And laughing at our efforts no doubt, kinda reminds me of Wile E Coyote (us) chasing the Road Runner ( you / NAZG ) Still will keep trying.
So when I was looking at yet another defeat screen noticed the DNA sequence (for this run through was simple). Now is it possible to get it to be more complicated (and not go to zombie) and slow that blitzkrieg style cure. Simple DNA = easily cured? (Food for thought).
Thanks for french translation, it's really better now. It's possible to play in english, but it's so much easy in my mother language!
Necroa Virus free? So I just bought Plague Inc and was prepared to spend 1.99 to get the zombie virus. But unless I missed something, it seems that the this type and Necrax Worm are free. I just selected it and the game continued normally. No prompts to purchase. What's up with that?
See the post from NDemic Creations about 4/5 posts back. It's a feebie in the current release -make use of it. Also if you beat all diseases on brutal you get the add-ons for free anyway
Ndemic posted above, error on his part and will be corrected next patch Edit: and someone beats me by a min lol
