Attention Developer - BUG Also in casual when using the reduce ability cost gene, the help ? on the ability menu show price as Free, but it actually costs 1 DNA per use. Two bugs. (a) you have to have at least 5 DNA regardless of how much it costs and (b) the cost isn't necessarily what it says in the menu.
Nice work guys, turning attention to NAZG again. Still also missing the vampire bat, was that just bat 2 + vampiric thirst? Edit: NM just got it, will ponder NAZG approaches. What were folks saying about making people paranoid and ceasing research?
Was just thinking, there is that pop up that I've gotten through these various efforts that says <Disease> causes anti-social behavior, does that get triggered by a certain sequence or is it just a Goldman Stanley type message?
While trying to do NAZG, I got a message that China went completely paranoid and stopped all research. In another game, I got a message that another country (I think it was Poland) went completely paranoid and that made them focus harder on researching. Same message, 2 different effects. Both seemed completely random (apart from having Delirium).
Just got the message to pop-up again. All the traits I had were the ones required for Darkwater I (saliva, med, insomnia -> zombies) & Hyper salivation (because it mutated first). The message reads: "Paranoia in Peru: People in Peru are extremely paranoid and refuse to co-operate fully with the Global Cure effort." Research budget for Peru went to -1.7k (yeah, minus). A few months later it reset to 0.
ALRIGHT, I FINALLY GOT IT I was on Brutal, was fed up with having to restart like 20 times in Casual just for the missing geneticist thing to pop-up. Waited until around 2020, then I evolved zombie, waited for successfully analyze message, evolved the Tank combo for extra severity, and I got it USA was destroyed like 3 seconds later lol xD
What is needed for the second Chernobyl achievement? The one about forcing research to be put on hold? I can't seem to find anything on that.
Awesome game This game gives me chills every time I play. It's so sick and so fun at the same time, my emotions don't know how to react!
I just got It's a Trap! You don't need to use the Reanimate ability, I evolved all the abilities in the reanimation tree, the three autolytic abilities and mummification. Right after I exited the menu, I was about to use Reanimate on Egypt and the message popped up before I used it.

Genes: Metabolic Jump (yes it means a lot of tapping but the extra DNA is good for the initial symptom push), Aerocyte, Dopamine Inhibitor, Genetic Mimic, Extremophile Start in Saudi 1. Zootonic Shift 2. Bird 1 3. Segmented Genome 4. Cold 1 5. Drug Resistance 1 6. Cold 2 7. Stockpile DNA, maybe buy one of the symptoms on the right side so you can get lucky and get Cannibalism for free through mutations 8. Genetic hardening 9. I've been waiting until the Cure is 5-10%, then I start the Crazyname symptom strategy of getting everything on the lower righthand side of the symptom tree 10. For now, just get 1st horde ability only and set play speed to slow 11. Use the small hordes to infect remaining healthy countries, you don't need to spam them, just get a few zombies in there and they'll grow like crazy 12. Continue getting as many symptoms on the bottom half as possible. 13. Before the end of the game, remember to get both gene reshuffles This is the basic framework but since every game is a bit different you may have to tweak horde timing, etc.
On NAZG I've been tinkering with the notion of a "kill as you go" strategy to lower the number of countries concerned about the disease, and I seem to wind up with more people dead than getting everyone infected and trying to go lethal all at once, but still not close to turning the tide on cure.
I have gotten the "World gripped with Fear" message a few times, but it doesn't seem to lead to anything else and doesn't seem to slow down the cure.

Research fails = test this achievement I have tried over and over for this and cannot get the final more research pop up, does this achievement have to be done without being noticed?
Sgt, have you been evolving genetic hardening? I think it was this one that always fails if you have it evolved.
NAZG - food for thought, wonder if there's a trigger we are missing just that cure research speed is kinda overkill. Almost there to force us for zombies
I haven't been evolving anything outside of the instructions. Now I can't even get that far. I get the group attacked by wild dogs right after the first pop up before I can even upgrade bird/bat 1. Then it says military called in and that's that.
