Thanks! They are now working as intended - they were not working as intended in 1.4 and 1.4.1 which is why you are noticing this behavior! They now increase DNA from bubbles by ~25%, previously they increased DNA by ~125% due to an error on my part. Whilst I may increase the DNA slightly in the next update - it won't be going back to 125%
Some confusion Originally you said 1.4 wasn't bugged, now your saying it was - confused. I don't want 125% (not greedy) but if 1.4 wasn't bugged I want that back please. If it was bugged then i need to start new scores.
Heh, 1.4 did have a minor bug with those 3 genes which was accidentally fixed in 1.4.2 but I didn't realise it until yesterday when people pointed out that 1.4.2 was working differently to 1.4. Re scores - what do people think about having different scoreboards for each disease type?
Like the idea, how about an insane bolt-type score as well, i.e. the fastest time completed for each plague type.
Scores Without genes I have done 185,000 ish with parasite and 300,000 with worm ( update 1.3 ) With genes I have done 300,000 ish with parasite and 500,000 with worm ( update 1.4 ) For method see page 52, patience is the key to parasite. Working on new scores since 1.4.2 fixes a bug with the Genes resulting in less DNA at world infect.
Game Impressions While I still have yet to break Bacteria on Normal (I know the principle of laying low, spreading all over, and then turning things up to 11...but invariably I must be spending money on something non-essential some lone country makes it through), how is it the genes are unlocked? Can casual play wins unlock genes or are they only unlocked after all of the various disease forms are unlocked first in Normal+ difficulties?
One new gene for each win, any disease any difficulty. I got all 25 from 25 casual bacteria. How to win. 1) Infect the world, go lethal, kill everyone before cure 100% aka slow Or 2) Infect and kill as you go, insane bolt achievement style aka fast. Bacteria, fungus, parasite and prion will allow option 1, but virus will mutate and costs to devolve so eventually cure will start. Nano virus the cure starts immediately and Bio has stages of lethality that can be delayed not stopped, once it is too lethal it will be noticed. My advice develop a method of fast infection (key transmission + abilities) that still leaves enough DNA for lethality, you still win even if cure is 99% as long as everyone is dead. Key symptoms are dysentery and necrosis as the are both lethal and infective, obviously total organ failure. I find that once 50% are dead the cure slows down, so I don't bother with gene hard or shuffle. Air and Water do not increase the mutation chance so are goog for laying low, all other transmissions increase the chance so are good for going fast on the back of freeby mutations (evolve to a symptom next to necrosis and necrosis may mutate). Pick you own favourites and go with it. Others will no doubt offer their own equally valid views. As a last resort, search YouTube for "plague inc <disease type> brutal 1.4". Completing a disease on brutal also means you have completed it on casual and normal. The 1, 2 or 3 little bars in top right corner of each disease type on the disease select screen
I tried patient method with parasite, they still manage to get the cure to 6% even if I save up 300 DNA, don't use any genes that make the cure easier, and then pile on all the deadly ones at once. As a result the score still is only 175k or something. Am I missing part of the strategy?
Have drug 1 and gene hard 1. Make a note of how much gene shuffle 1 costs. When you got lethal keep that many points. As the cure rises wait to about 3%, if you are lethal enough you will be killing fast enough to start getting DNA from deaths. At this point gene shuffle 1, then as points roll in, gene hard 2, gene shuffle 2 and 3. I use sympto statis to get as many lethal symptoms as I can and offset it with gene mimic. Dysentery and necrosis are nice lethal symptoms don't forget them.
Enh, I'm okay with EXCEPT the still image. I like to have near continuous visual of the main map if not engineering my plague.
Also do not forget, insomnia, paranoia, paralysis, coma and insanity, all either slow down or reduce the cure % effect. Coma being next to total organ failure. A reasonable approach is to complete the path to coma from any symptoms that mutated, insomnia invariably mutates in my games, then add TOF and other lethals e.g. dysentery as it is next to insanity. Necrosis is next to haem shock itself a nice lethal, anaemia or rash starts those paths.
Yes, best stats on each disease type and by difficulty (since the stats of a disease in Casual are almost always going to trump those made in Normal and Brutal). So basically each disease type would get its own page divided into three sections for each of the difficulties. I personally think these stats sections would be stacked vertically with the Brutal stats on top (clearly the most important achievements in the game) and the Casual down at the bottom (the Casual stats are like a "Participation Award", at least you showed up to work, but as soon as you start getting stats in Normal and Brutal, who is really going to care about these achievements anymore?).
I've noticed the trojan planes on neurax are somewhat buggy. Sometimes you drag them and they don't work and they just sit there for awhile. Especially common when looking at an interface screen and then switching back to the main screen. Also I was wondering if it was theoretically possible to have the entire world's population die of natural disaster? Or are there simply not enough of those random events to ever kill enough people?
Looking forward to play Neurax. I´m trying to do it the hard way, beating all Plague Types on Brutal. Loving the game.
What version and how? I'm guessing enslave but there has to be more too it. What trans, abilities, genes etc Please share.
