Worked like a charm. Almost seemed like I needed insanity to get the mission to launch though. Might be necessary. Once I got the astronauts to be isolated I devolved every symptom, and almost 8 years past before I decided to add insanity back to the symptom list. 2 minutes later, launch, added inflammation and boom, mission failed. If you haven't already spend time in the unlimited cheat working out the infectivity and lethality of every transmission and symptom. Then pick your choice and go for it, tweak it and then go faster. Necrosis is your friend, as you will have to go lethal before infecting everybody.
Bubonic plague Bubonic plague swept through Russia (Moscow) in 1771. Bubonic plague is a zoonotic disease, carried by small rodents and their fleas. Rodent 1/2 or Extreme Zoonosis should trigger the Threat.
Got it figured out. It was mosquitos. I tried rats first based exactly the same logic you have, but it didn't pan out. I tried mosquitoes next, and bam, got the threat for russia. Its repeatable too! Happy infecting!
Some questions What is the worm equivalent of sweating, or how to make the icure fail in worm virus? Anyone know how to quickly or specifically trigger infecting POTUS in this game?
Good to know. I, too tried and it didn't work (though I nuked China again as soon as I tried extreme zoonosis, which includes Bird 2). I was all set to try Seizures and Coma (bubonic plague symptoms), but this will speed things up!
Just did a nuke with USA in general disruption from the get go. Got a USA beginning to break down pop up, went general disrupt immediately. Carried on and nuked Russia with insect. Oh and I got drug 1+2 after infect USA but before lethal, they don't have to be the first things you get. Still have not repeated a rapid POTUS sick. Gotto be a trigger other than slight lethal until it happens. Had it happen twice, just can not remember how.

Let your disease sit with a few non-lethal symptoms for a while. That's how I got it. The actual message that popped up was that "PAX-12 has been mutating really fast and needs to be watched, blah blah blah" instead of the "PAX-12 has been placed on the RMS watch list. Hope that helps!
Symptoms? Even with Insect 2, no threat. I've been using the Swine Flu combo to slowly build toward POTUS (minus Livestock 1/2). Added Insect 1/2. Spalin with Insanity and then devolve. But no threat. Added Rodent 1/2 and Skin Lesions. Still nothing. Tried necrosis (to approximate gangrene) for a while, but it kills too quickly. I must be missing a symptom.
Only add or use bird or insect AFTER Spalin not before. Reading your note above it sound like you added insect before Spalin, also it is insect or bird, rodent does not trigger a threat. Don't forget insomnia and paranoia you didn't mention these and I believe they are required. See my post on page 63, or fergymcferguson's post on page 68. Follow mine exactly, once Spalin voted in add either bird for china or insect for russia

China comes to mind. Push transmissions, I usually have around 7 or 8 or them by the end, add infective symptoms, then work over to necrosis. That should get you started. I end up with full bar infectivity and over half bar lethal. Edited, changed infectivity to transmissions.
