I actually got the cotaminated blood by mistake. I was trying to get the nike achievements. After the US nuked China I had some extra points so I got extreme zoonosis and all the insect and blood transmissions and I got the cotaminated blood message!
That's red rain, the contaminated blood package is highly random no definative method of getting it. I have got the combo message twice. 1) max bird, livestock and rodent (that is all 3 to level 2 ) and then take the special cross species transmission that appears. I also had cold 1+2 and drug 1+2. After a short while, message popped up that New Guinea had been infected by contaminated blood (I had NO repeat NO symptoms) 2) swine flu combo + livestock 1+2, + cold 1+2 + drug 1. After a longer while, message popped up that Iran had been infected by contaminated blood.
Nuking still too random or is some trigger missing. I did blood 1+2 insect 1+2 and swine flu, "ill", insanity, Spalin 5 times yesterday. First time i got the threatens russia, paralysis nuke achievement. The next 4 times, Spalin never issued the threat. I tried the method from Groce4Ya (see page 55) 5 times, Spalin never issued threat and once I never got Spalin even after adding insanity to "president ill" pop up message. Either the "president ill" and "threatens russia|china" pop ups are triggered and we don't know exactly how or they are random and I'm just unlucky. I twice got president ill whilst still infecting USA, but 8 times had to wait until approx 15% dead. Still too random or missing specific trigger. Ndemic - pls comment are they triggered or random?
Got placed on the rms watchlist several times but didn't get the achievement. Am I missing something? Got it. I think it's indeed the message after the one where you're placed on the watchlist
I noticed the same, so I got placed on the watch list for casual, normal and brutal. With different diseases. I suspect it is still because of too much random. Pre latest update, people mentioned they did the steps to get achievements but would not always get them. Not exactly sure when I got the achievement, but I had it after a no symptom disease sparked the rumours, riots and investigation pop ups for the peer pressure achievement. I started adding symptoms and got 3 or 4 RMS pop ups, nothing to worry about, threat level upgraded, watch list and I think one other, genome sequenced Also, I have used the swine flu combo, nausea, vomit, diarrhoea, cough, fever, insomnia, paranoia, inflame, about 20 times in the updated game, never been given the swine flu pop up
Riots Got the insane bolt achievement after many tries. 351 days just a matter of getting infectious quickly then adding necrosis as you add more lethal symptoms. Still need to nuke china and get the space thing figured out. But also need to figure out how to get noticed by starting a riot. Anyone get that achievement yet?
Bug or random Anyone else experiencing a lack of the Spalin threatens pop up. I get president I'll, I add insanity and get Spalin voted in, rarely get the threatens Russia / China pop up. Got it first time after the update, have had it twice since in 30+ games Using the exact trans, symps and abils as posted by groce4ya on page 55
Ive gotten on the RMS watch list countless times,but I still dont have the achievement? Any help Ndemic??
Guide to Nukes I am almost completely positive the nukes are completely based on getting the following 1. POTUS ill- Mild severity, little lethality. See attached images (POTUS ILL SYMPTOMS & POTUS ILL MAP) 2. Spalin (eventually) getting elected. Still not sure why the time it takes her to get in varies. (Note time differences in "POTUS ILL AND SPALIN ELECTED IMAGES) Sometimes it takes years, sometimes, like this one, it takes months. It MAY have to do with the "Business as usual" message being up instead of the "General disruption" message. All times that I have gotten her into office, it has been "Business as usual". See attached images (SPALIN ELECTED & SPALIN ELECTED INFO) 3. I believe in order to get Spalin to threaten anybody, Human experimentation MUST be approved. In all scenarios I've tried, she only does it when this happens. See attached image (USA THREATENS CHINA INFO) I think the randomness comes in with the transmission, symptoms, and abilities. In groce4ya's images, there were completely different methods in transmission and abilities. My abilities included only Drug 1&2, and transmission I used Bird 1&2 and Livestock 1&2 to get Extreme Zoonosis, and Water 1. So I do not think they matter at all in nuking countries. I have yet to get Spalin to threaten Russia, no matter where I start. I started in Russia, and she STILL threatened China. So if anyone has any more ideas, I'd love to know. Included in the images are images of what happens when you do not select paralysis (Spalin arrested), Russia getting Nuked after her arrest, and the USA nukes china stuff. I hope this helps!!!
Well, I was wrong about Spalin only threatening anyone when Human Experimentation has been approved. That being said, I have nuked Russia...using the most unconventional method. I started out trying to get the Contaminated Package achievement. I got Blood 1&2 as my only transmission. Then Cold 1&2 and Drug 1&2 as my only abilities. For my symptoms, I got insomnia, paranoia, anaemia, haemophilia, rash, sweating, and skin lesions (got profuse bleeding). By November 2013, the POTUS had taken ill with only 922,129 infected and 5,194 dead in the entire US. It was STILL 99% healthy. I added insanity immediately and by January 2014, Spalin was elected. I increased severity to about over half with little lethality. By July, she had threatened Russia and 34% were still healthy in the US. Human Experimentation hadn't even been considered anywhere. This was very interesting, and furthers my belief that there is an intense amount of randomness within the game... As to the Contaminated Package and Plague in Space achievements...I HAVE NO IDEA.

In mean time, save game as soon as you start, then load it and it will not crash Slightly different strategy - it is not random 351 days is good! 331 days is even better Slight mistake on my part - you get this from a different RMS event to the RMS watch list event - is fixed in the update.
