Same, if u were to start from USA or China, it's the same. Both possible to get the President to be sick, then replaced with Palin. But then, nothing happens, we need to find another trigger...
So no nukes or space yet? I need clues, cause it's killing me. Also i still need the ####ing blood transfusions. But that's mostly based on luck i guess

Achievements or blind luckies I did point that out to the developer in a feedback email. Something that requires luck is not an achievement. It is just pure random and has no value or prestige, does not enhance the game at all, if anything it detracts from it in my opinion. Developer likes randomness, says it will be addressed in next release. So I guess we are all watching this space for that release.
I finally beat the first "level". Virus was very easy and I will later try fungus. Seems like people have problems with it.
Cheat Diseases Can you unlock all the achievements by using a Cheat Disease? I beat everything on brutal to get the cheats, and honestly believe the immune cheat is the best, but have had no luck. Like if I use the immune disease where a cure cannot be found, can I still somehow get the USA to nuke Russia or China, get the blood transfusion, and infect astronauts before space? Or is that only in regular gameplay? I have only got "historic space mission planned" one time and it was August 2013. And that time, I sat around until 2022 while everyone was infected (with no symptoms) and there was still no space mission. So I gave up and decimated the earthly population out of sheer frustration. Also, is August 2013 the only time a space mission can be planned? Or can the space mission be planned randomly any other time?
You can unlock all the achievements on any mode and difficulty, however I don't think anybody found the solution to the nuke achievements and/or space achievement. I've gotten the historic space mission message many times and infected the whole world ASAP, though there was no lead afterwards. It probably needs a different approach and I suspect the 'North Korean Space station' message has something to do with it.
I only seem to get the North Korean space station rescue message at the very beginning of games. Seems like it'd be too late by then.
I let it run to 2114 (yes really) and still nothing re space missions or nukes. I kinda give up. Until zombies at least
I assume there is a trigger missing, but not sure what. Using the current nuke theory as an analagy E.g. to Get Palin elected as President of the USA, you have to have drug 1 and 2, then make the disease a little bit lethal but not too much (swine flu combo works well). Too lethal and you never get the president sick message, forget to evolve insanity when you get the message and you get the vice president, not lethal enough and he stays in office. So for space, waiting is not the trigger obviously. I've tried starting in Korea, but invariably don't get the space mission message when I do. Best suggested disease for space mission message?
Since the space achievement is worth 40 points just like the two nuke achievements, it's possibly as difficult as them. By the way, does anybody know what's the highest year we can reach before time stops? Just wondering.
North Korea I keep getting the strange space debris and historic space mission planned messages but i've never had any message with reference to Korea. Please can someone, if/when then get this message, paste the full text in response or explain how to get it if known. Thanks
The message states that Korea has saved the international space station with 'peace rockets' but I haven't seen it in a while! It tends to appear far too early in a game for you to actually do anything about it! I don't even remember gettin the strange space debris message!
Unlocking the extra plague options I've beaten the game on brutal for every plague type, but the cheats are still locked. What's the trick? Do I have to beat them all in order in one sitting? What am I missing?
Nuking Beat the game and still working on achievements...it seems no one's gotten any further with Palin than I have. I'm noticing that once a country is in anarchy, death continues even if you devolve all the symptoms, but in countries still not "fallen" death stops. Has anyone yet tried to get Russia or China in Anarchy before the US somehow and then stop the lethality enough to get the US back to "business as usual" but with the insanity (a non lethal symptom) and/or paranoia as the only active symptom? Perhaps with Palin in Place, paranoia and/or insanity will cause the US to fear a possible attack by anarchists in control of these countries??? Not sure how you could pull that off without the cheats though...
Unlocking cheats In the top right corner of each disease type on the select disease page, there will be zero or 1 to 3 black stripes representing to what level (none, 1=casual, 2=normal and 3=brutal) - see attached image. Confirm you have all 3 stripes for all 7 disease types. I did mine in order not sure if that is a requirement.
