I'm down to the swine flu, blood, astronauts and nuke achievements now. Managed to get the president replaced but no mushroom clouds yet, and the others are elusive as well. At least I finally unlocked the cheats, so no more worries about having enough DNA. Hopefully I'll crack the rest tonight.

You can do it! Spread the knowledge!

As for the nuking one, it's pretty specific in the Achievements that you have to cause the US to launch a nuclear strike on Russia/China. The achievements are called "Russian/Chinese Nuclear Re... (... retaliation?)," so maybe it doesn't have anything to do with America at all, maybe we have to make Russia/China paranoid/insane, and they'll launch the first nuke, causing America to launch back in retaliation? It's something to try, but first I have to reconquer Brutal mode after updating to 1.2.

As an aside, is it actually possible to get scores in the billions of points? Because I have trouble believing the score even breaks the 100k mark.

Well, I've had anarchists blow things up, countries bomb infected cities, large areas become paranoid, new presidents, countless combinations of symptoms, various starting countries...

But still no nukes. Time to quit for a while before I start seeing red dots in my sleep.

Thinking of getting this, can anyone tell me if the iaps are optional? Useful, important etc? Just wondering about that. It looks pretty good.

Completely optional. If you just keep beating the game (once as each pathogen type on at least Normal) you'll unlock all the regular varieties. I don't know why anyone would buy them unless they just got THAT frustrated with Fungus.

Get Necrosis. It's a huge help to infectivity when you're killing quickly.

I didn't deactivate anything for Bio-Weapon. I find its natural deadliness helps keep cure low, it's easier just to pump infectivity, I think. Make sure to get Blood, Drug Resistance, Hot/Cold Resistance (you can skip one or the other if you started in a hot/cold country), maybe Livestock, and then when it's symptom time, get lots of infectivity-increasing ones, like Coughing/Sneezing/Vomiting/Skin Lesions, that sort of thing, and then cap it all off with Necrosis.

Correct - only added them in because so many people wanted them!

I feel more sorry for the carriers than for you :p

There is no one strategy. Deactivation is what I normally use though

Lots of interesting numbers etc in there but the key point for those who don't want to read it is
Thanks everyone for helping this happen :)

It's a nice push forward in the genre, I like that you've incorporated tap patterns into it, however I have crashed out numerous times from the taps. It blurs too many lines with Pandemic for my tastes but it's a great genre to branch out into on this platform I'll look forward to your next title.

I finally discovered that I was actually losing all the time instead of winning. That really needs to be fixed. Another problem is messages popping up all the time and blocking bubble access. I turn off the message and the bubble disappears at the same time. Not enough dna points available. Turning things off to regain two is not enough. Also, the banner is too large, and could be placed better, like at the bottom. The major problem is that the game is far too difficult at the third level. I made it to fungus, and after repeated losses with no clues or hints on how to win, i gave up and deleted the game even though there were at least another ten levels left. That is a shame. I was enjoying it and i dont get to see the majority of the game. I am sure this is a common problem. Not all of us have endless hours to spend on attempts to redo frustrating levels. Redoing levels is not my idea of fun. And especailly not on the third level of a game! This difficulty ramp up happens way too early. You should at least include a hint system that can be accessed for each level.

As it is, i barely got my money's worth out of this game. Sure it was only a buck, but playing two levels before hitting a wall is more suited to a lite version than full version. I played on normal every time.

I'd love to see stats on each of the levels and players' pass/fail rate on each. Fungus is currently kicking my pasty white arse. I don't really understand how DNA is accrued toward the end of the game. It seems like it starts ticking up really quickly, then suddenly slams to a stop even though people are still dying off at a pretty good rate. I like that the game is difficult, but it's starting to feel like it's impossible so it's getting frustrating.

Speaking of which, are Bacteria and Virus in the right order? It took my 20 tries to beat bacteria for the first time, but I beat Virus easily on my first attempt. If Virus is easier maybe that should be the starting level.
