Updated Strategy Just modified the strategy slightly and dropped some days off of my previous speed run. New strategy: China, Rodent 1, 7 or 8 non lethal symptoms, Water 1, Water 2, Bird 1, Drug 1, Necrosis, Heat 1, cold 1 Dysentery, Systemic Infection, cold 2, hot 2, Environmental Hardening, Air 1, Drug 2, increasingly lethal systems to TOF, then any other sysptoms as the DNA becomes available. The climate abilities appear to play a pretty hefty role in the infection rate, so I've gone for them earlier and also gone for Environmental Hardening before thinking about drug 2. Despite getting some slow DNA early and no really great mutations at the right time, I still knocked several days off of my previous best time. Something to explore and look for that great run with a Necrosis and bird 2 mutation at just the right time.
Well, let me tell the strategy but first I want to say this have good and bad things: First of all this strategy uses a glitch I discovered where you zoom the map on Russia (works with any big country) and use zombie horde, after appear the bubble zoom out and you can see the bubble moving on a large distance (ex. Moves to america) and quickly infect a country from a very long distance Good: -Almost guaranteed record under 300 days -Requires just a few stuff to evolve at start -You can infect a country with hordes with the glitch, just like trojan planes -Effective against pesky islands and fast land transmission Bad: -Since its a glitch and now its noticed to James it could be patched on next updates -Its nearly impossible to get under 200 days so dont call us cheaters -The strategy takes 30-60 real minutes to have done -Needs practice to master the glitch so maybe you wont have luck first times -You will become a cheater but not like those 100 days cheaters China @ ATP, Native, Splice (must do), Darwin (almost unnecessary), urbo 1. Zoo, rat 1, Insomnia to Enhanced motor 2. Zombie horde and all its abilities to send millions 3. Wait until china has 250 millions of zombies 4. IMPORTANT: Stop clock and zoom the map, use horde on the left-bottom side of russia, after bubble appear zoom out and you will say, dafuq? 5. Probably the bubble is on water but just zoom in a little to target a country, get it? 6. After targeted the country send the zombie horde and resume the onslaught 7. Repeat step 4 to infect more countries 8. After you are getting more infected countries and you DNA is building evolve slowly: 9. Anabolic boost, hypertrophy, and vampiric hunger (if zcom is not a problem) or Autothysis 10. Infect rest of nearby countries to destroy them fast with more hordes. NOTE: Order of horde infection: Brasil, west africa, central europe, USA, sweden, spain, central or east africa, iran, indonesia, australia, Philippines and all islands How target these: To barsil and west africa, left bottom of russia (next to turkey) To USA, C. Europe, UK and spain, Left side of russia (next to Ukranie) To sweden, iceland and greenland, left top of russia (next to finland) To indonesia, bottom of china 2 times To australia, bottom of indonesia To Philippines and new guinea, right bottom of china To iran, left side of china To new zeland, right side of australia To madagascar, right middle of east africa To caribean, right bottom of usa (that part is very near of caribean) Remeber its a very complicated strategy and you need practice many times.
Looks like isn't friendly for parasite but could be good for prion. I guess your strategy should be more lethal using TOF before Enviromental and Air 1
Updated Strategy I had gone back to Bacteria to try out the environmental hardening strategy but haven't tried it on any of the other disease types. It seems to be a robust way of getting all the difficult islands quite early, but the infection rates of USA particularly is slow with only Drug 1, so you do need Drug 2 in a reasonable timeframe. I also can't remeber if I had such a surplus of DNA during the death phase of the game with the previous strategy, but there is no issue with getting all disease symptoms and still being left with surplus DNA at the end that you can't use. Edit: Despite waiting 10 days for any DNA at the beginning, I just hit 227 days for Bacteria using earlier evolution of environmental hardening. I did get a Necrosis mutation just as I was saving up DNA to evolve it which clearly helped as I could get Bird 2 instead. I'm beginning to believe there's a 215 day run out there with a bit of luck.
Global record for Prion is 48 days, some people cheat too much, that has to be a hack it is so blindingly obviously a hack.
Seems like we hit the floor for most records, see post 3144. Only one left is prion. Troxin's record of 238 is unverified. My record is 264. Anyone beat that yet? Judging by the other top scores I don't think we've bottomed out on that one yet.
My 238 run was pure luck, got a few very handy mutations early on, necrosis, systematic infection, usually this makes me loose cos one (or more) country remains uninfected, but on this run I just got lucky with the trouble islands! Usually I only get scores in the 270's-280's, I use your strategy as its awesome and don't really deviate from it, sometimes I get cold 2 before drug2, and get insect 2 to speed up Africa! Hope that helps!
At least we can stay on top today or week always, but it's more funny comparing our records in Game center to see who rocks. Btw, what does the Infect a friend feature? Just getting how many friends have infected or what?
A Small Bug Try fungus or nano-virus (normal difficulty) in standard game mode, which means you can have infinity DNA points to use. Finish the game, and the record will appear on the Speed Run page.
I agree with the android part miniclip take forever to port the updates (although they do it well). I actually fixed my iPhone 3g to attempt the speed runs only find the ios limited to 4.something so still can't play speed runs or get Nazg as there's no popups. Can't believe it was rabies either I worked on that idea for two weeks and gave up only to find out it was the right track
There was no need for the bat message. The hint was in the 1.6.2 description. Rebalanced the NAZG achievement for all the RABID fans out there Speed runs are fine but this game is based on strategy not zerg rush so it's pure luck sometimes. Can't wait for the next update to see what James comes up with. It would be nice to see more achievements and why not,a new plague type
I'm hoping for a new plague too! How long was the wait between neaurax and Necroa? Can't remember! My money is still on a plague from space, and new achievements for the original plagues! Maybe even a 'play as the cure' game?
Where would be the fun then? I like to destroy humanity.. Not save it.. Well the wait was long enough that's for sure. I'm pretty sure the internet has the answers as well as mr Vaughan's new website.
Playing as the cure would add a different element of strategy to the game. All it has now is 9 ways of killing the world. IMHO 9 ways of killing and the challenge of preventing extermination is way better than just another (10th) way of killing which is really just more of the same. But that is as stated just my opinion. We all know we can kill the world different ways, different speeds, or for high scores. How many of us can act the other side and take on the challenge of preventing a randomly generated computer controlled simulation disease from exterminating the human race.
I was thinking that an option to be either the disease or the cure would be an excellent evolution of the game too. You could be an antibiotic, gene therapy, vaccine, monoclonal antibody, etc, and develop your cure or treatments spending money on research, manufacturing, distribution, etc as well as taking government actions like quarantine, culling animals, genetically modification of species, etc. Would probably be a massive task for Ndemic as it would be a complete re-write equal to the level of effort required to code the original game. Maybe some other budding developer out there might do something like this as an entry to the games app marketplace?
