Idea! i dont know if this has been mentioned yet but i had an idea. aids originally came from chimps. maybe we need to infect chimps (like NAZG but with bats). we need to find a place with the most chimps in the world. then we start there. use zoonotic shift and etc. i dunno just an idea. someone comment back if im wrong or if this has been mentioned or if you can improve my idea.

Nice work bro Through I've been able to easily get every origin achievement without worrying about zombie levels in start country or using hordes abilities to move them.
You guys waste time on HIV/AIDS, I already checked the es.strings file and there's nothing special on HIV/AIDS with CDC except PfiGlax, random pop-up and Neurax worm message for country actions "Rejects relation HIV/AIDS".
So we're back to the messages in post 2852 ( by Ineptitude ) The first tells us we've started, the 2nd ( we are failing, though maybe required for both 3 and 4 ), the 3rd tell us we fail, the 4th tells us we succeed ( and how to succeed - lethality ) What we do not know is how to start?, seem familiar, déjà vu anyone. James had to know someone would scan the files.
My 2 cents on CDC Hey all, I have been a longtime viewer of this forum but never posted. I could be completely off and I don't know anything about programming or code. But someone posted the messages they found for the CDC achievement. In it was something like "CDC looks for patient zero in (start country)" Does the fact that it has a generic "start country" mean that it could be any country and is not start specific? Does any other code for other achievements confirm/deny this. Just a thought.
I just want know if I need to obey CDC tasks! It's like I'm Batman and James is the Riddler, but the problem is I'm really Robin. I know my words are senseless but I'm desesperating cabron. Oh yes, btw I forget that in es.strings CDC I discovered you can start on any country I guess, but I didn't tell this, thanks to share it dude. Though James know that, we already discovered NAZG and PifGlax (well, mostly with this last) We're looking for the PZ, in my concept is the first infected by a new disease no? Everybody was on the wrong way with the HIV because they should know PZ was a Canadian and we are in 2013, so HIV can't get "another" PZ or remake it because even in-game talks about HIV like was already did the job to find PZ. Now if we really know what's a PZ, my new question is, should we follow CDC messages and create a similar disease? Or just ignore them and just slow infection and few ppl? What do you think guys? EDIT: Just watched Contagion movie, has good info about diseases and also patient zero. Not sure if useful…
I doubt there is a specific starting country. The string for the popup used %s for the country name. Since the file is a translation file, %s is just a placeholder for the country of origin's name. Which is why I wrote [country] instead when I posted the messages. It could be anywhere.
I've tried almost every country in Africa using blood 1&zoonotic shift&heat 1 and various combos...Botswana,Zimbabwe,Sudan,Algeria,Libya... Nothing unusual. Besides i'm not so sure it's a necroa achievement as the lethality isn't high enough to trigger those messagea about PZ
Speed Runs Bored with the CDC search, so moved on to speed run Bacteria. Game mechanics are very different to normal mode, so the traditional tactics obviously need tweaked. Struggling to get inside 1 year at present, so god knows how some people have managed to post times of less than 130 days. Is it possible without hacking extra DNA at the start of the game?
Only with Fungus, Nanovirus and Bioweapon with glitch. And what about starting on rural countries or very low population countries?
Unhacked Speed Run Records How's everybody getting on with the Speed Runs? I've got the bacteria down to 282 days but there's definitely some slack in there, so maybe 250 days is possible? Anyone else getting into the mid 250 day range?
4 months to infect the world and kill everyone. Try doing that in the unlimited DNA disease and you will see why that must mean they are hacking DNA either via a tool or a jail broken device and file edits. Either way is cheating Way before speed run mode, back in 1.4, I got down to 190 days (no hacks). My best in 1.6 is 257 days. Anyone less than 176 days (Mkesaber's score) is IMHO cheating. Will apologise if they post how they do it and it does not involve a hack or cheat. It comes down to luck and how fast you infect the islands before they clam up after necrosis / dysentery are evolved. If you wait for 100% infection before evolving these two symptoms you will not get a fast time. See post 2151 on page 216 by mkesaber for the method I use.
