Uhmm strange cause wikipedia states that insects don't act as a transmission vector. Also necroa has zoonotic shift indeed and blood 1&2 but as for symptoms.. That's another story.
I finally got NAZG! And I promised myself if I did, I would share my insights, just in case they help anyone else. Most thanks, of course, to Botoshel (for getting it) and StarViruZ (putting the Guide together), as well as everyone who helped by finding all the wrong ways first! Honestly - it still took me about 4 more tries, even doing "everything right". Genes - Cyto Surge is essential. I thought the ATP boost would do it, but that only gets you up fast, you'll lack vital DNA for the end run. Mutation - race, race, race to get all of Drugs 1, Gen Hard, and both Gen Reshuffles. After them, I had no mutations til the end. Weird cure effect. So after the "X is a type of rabies" pop-up, and devolving Zoo, my cure window was saying "time to cure - 0 days" yet still going up in percentages. After I got the "nope, not rabies, and we are in trouble" pop-up, that was back to normal, and even went up, but if you looked at the details page, the cure was getting FARTHER away (180 days, 183 days, 283 days, 1 year, 3 years, etc) and then stalled at 94%. BEST TIP: do NOT evolve more symptoms! If you do, the game will "help" by giving you zombies. I was down to 7 million left, then they "gave" me zombies. In fact, on my successful game, I devolved Psychosis and Delirium which were "gifts" (ie, mutations). ALSO - wait, wait, wait. Don't go with symptoms until you have enough DNA to do it ALL plus devolving Zoo. (Yes, you'll get more, but likely not enough.) 72-75 DNA is about right. I had many losses because the cure started too soon, or I couldn't afford to devolve Zoo, etc. Best of luck with Patient Zero!
Glad you could make it My guide sucks i know.. I didn't really explain things as others did. But the essential is there and that should get everyone past NAZG.. Ofc there are still problems.. People reported that no pop up about disease/rabies link occured,that the cure reaches 100% too fast (which is true on brutal),that the disease/rabies link false did not occur..

Some interesting theories on patient zero, I've tried numerous times at everybody's ideas, bio weapon, every other plague type, starting lethal, starting slow, trying to react to white cdc news banners, using cheat plagues ad nausium, aids coming from primates in Africa, i even tried starting in a remote country ie: greenland, madagascar, new zeland, getting it transmitted to one other country then devolving all transmitions (cos of the definition of a pandemic) everything! Seriously I think I've tried everything except the winning method, and I can't take it anymore, I'm actually seeing a blood red map of earth when I blink! Maybe I am patient zero!
So.... Get flu symptoms (cough, sneeze, fever, sweating), get a few ppl infected then devolve all symptoms, maybe add drug and cold resistance? I've tried this, many times in many countries with every plague type, and not nothing except a headache and an overheated iPhone! Maybe you'll get more luck, please post any findings even if you fail, cos if we all work together via process of elimination we may stumble across a clue! Mr Vaughn is an evil genius, and we are his puppets! But I love him and his evil brain!
Could work.. Make sure to evolve extreme hematophagy (blood 3) and take a look at it's description. Now look at the immune suppression's description. Maybe these combines with an unknown symptom or symptoms scares the CDC
CDC Messages Has anyone had a CDC Pop up regarding a "warning about new nightmare bacteria"? Wondering if this is random or if I've stumbled onto the starting route.? EDIT: Tried 10 times to replicate this but never saw the CDC Pop up again, so a false start I suspect. Was on the bird flu route from China that time..............
CDC Dangerous Bacteria Sorry, it was a banner headline in the news, not a pop up message. Started in China, immediately went for zoonotic and bird 1, then waited. The CDC message scrolled over before China was 100% infected, but I can't replicate this, so either it's a NAZG type situation where it's very random or it's simply one of the other meaningless messages that indicate nothing. If anyone else has this with a different combination of origin / transmissions then we can discount it.

CDC Messages Sounds like it's random unfortunately. I'm trying to work through the top 10 infectious diseases like Ebola (African country start, insects, hot 1) to see if I stumble across anything. After the totally random nature of the NAZG achievement I'm having to repeat each failed attempt multiple times in order to be sure that it's the wrong path. Would be very helpful to know if the breadcrumbs are predictable like the initial achievements, or like NAZG where you can go down the right path dozens of times without getting the breadcrumbs. If it's like the NAZG random pattern, then I'll give up soon and leave it to you guys.
I thought last night about the posibility that it's a Necroa achievement because of the West Nile Virus messages. I thought maybe,just maybe we could do something like we did with nazg and the rabies-. I gave up because there aren't any messages to confirm something like that. There are only 3 or 4 messages from the CDC which should occur and none says anything about this. So it must be a common plague,not special viruses like the necroa or the neurax worm. Bacteria is still my first choice.
Patient Zero I've been looking at the bird flu route with virus with no success, so I'm starting to get a bit bored seeking a breadcrumb with so many different starting point options. I might start looking at the cheats to see if anything different occurs with them.
