I have tried all the posted methods to get the rabid bats yellow banner - zoo, drugs 1, and bats1 but have never got it out of 20 times and i amd starting in south africa or greenland, what am i diong wrong?
Guys - FYI in the new 1.6.1, I fixed a minor bug to do with NAZG - an event was appearing more than it should which significantly lessened its ability to be a breadcrumb. Now fixed.
Ditto. Since the 1.6.1 patch I can't cause the rabies message at all. Even my trusty Sweden zoo, drug 1 wait for white CDC, bat 1. Which worked every time yesterday has stopped working. Care to explain what you "fixed" James?
As you suspect - that event is a breadcrumb. It was triggering when it shouldn't (my mistake) so it was not being very useful. It is now more targetted

Bat shit! Ok people of plague, I'm gonna tell ya what I been trying out, cos it isn't working and wouldn't want anyone else wasting their time! After reading up on rabies I thought if I start in a small poor warm country, get the symptoms up from insomnia to psychosis and coma, and then spread it with bats and saliva, thus replicating some of the rabies characteristics I've read about! Sadly crypto gets mutated every time, despite fiddling with drug and gen hard, so don't bother with this, in fact don't even read this post, you will never get the time back...
Now let me tell you what i've tried : Started in Greenland,evolved cold 1 and heat 1 and nothing else.. Infected the whole world with 8 damn mutations which bankrupted me of dna and evolved drug 1,zoontic 1 and bat 1.. No rabid bats message.. Pointless.. Started another game in Turkey,did pretty much the same thing except that i've evolved drug 1 and zoontic and bat at 10% of the world infected.. Still nothing... So the hint won't come out no matter what i do.. Out of clues ^_^
Tell me about it dude! It's like we have gone back to the start trying to get this damn achievement, desperately trying all sorts of combos and every single one failing! Now the bat banner has all but disappeared, I don't think anyone is getting it anymore, only thing I can think of that haven't really tried much is using water as the transmitions, cos it hasn't played a part in any other achievements??? To be honest I'm stumped, pissed off and thinking about quitting again until some lucky bastard cracks it, or Mr Vaughan gives us a clue, no update, just something on here, amongst his loyal fans!
I was also thinking about water and urogenital expansion since the urine is made of water too.. Not to mention body fluids like sweat. But i don't know.. Evolving water 1&2 and devolving saliva 1&2 makes the other devolving symptoms expensive.. Not to mention you have to waste dna on blood 1 and then devolve it once you get urogenital expansion.. I don't see rabies being spread through water or urine but what the hell.. It's worth trying
Rage Ok, I've been looking at the news headlines and looking for some link between yellow banners, 3 games in a row I started in uk, got saliva 1+2 and drug ASAP, aprox 2 months later I get either hot countries getting hotter or cold countries getting colder yellow banner, now here's the interesting thing, every time that happens, I get yellow banner about London Olympics mystery EXACTLY 28 days later, but anything I've tried after has done nothing, as soon as I get a symptom mutate I quit and try again, this must be significant, is 28 a magic number? Thoughts please?
Asia seems to be the worst place for rabies, but at some point it must have to spread to places like USA where they are pretty good at diagnosing and curing it! Gonna focus on Asia, mainly India for a while! Cheers for the tip James, not giving up just yet!
