Okay I have another crazy idea for NAZG here, but all we have left are the crazy ones so here goes. First a natural disaster has to kill people. Then either the virus raises some of the victims from the dead, or the regenerative properties of it are discovered around the same time (miracle cure broadcast?), and they decide to use it to bring back the victims. If the virus is framed in a positive light, the reanimated my not be considered "zombies", or if the humans use it, then technically as the player you did not create any zombies. A possibly helpful or not helpful idea that may or may not be related to this is to infect animals, with can demonstrate the regenerative properties of the virus without people becoming zombies. I think another useful mechanism here must be to use highly developed countries like USA to limit the amount of people infected, so you are unlikely to to create zombies. Darkwater might also be related. I imagine this will get more difficult with the CDC in the next update. Edit: Darkwater was developing the necroa virus in a weapons lab..... Anyone up for a nice game of global biological warfare?
Hey gents. Had a thought that I believe may not have been shared. I got to thinking about the origin stories and what James said about this elusive NAZG achievement. The next step in triggering the origin stories is prompted by the NEWS flashes. What if this NAZG is triggered by sound? I'm sure we've all noticed that there are NEW background sound effects with NECROA. Some sounds actually pertain to some of the DISEASE evolutions...ie the sound of someone coughing or the buzzing of insects. I've tried a few combinations, but still no success. The one thing I did notice on the last try was that the VIRUS was not discovered as quickly as it normally is once the first symptom evolves. An idea I thought was worth mentioning. Also, it seems to fit James' hints criteria that have been shared thusly.
TIL that there are folks playing with sound on.. hah. The sound prompting is a quite brilliant theory, considering the dead ends we've pursued prior to this. How would you suggest proceeding? Do you hear the sounds (like insect buzzing) prior to the transmission/symptom being activated? hmm..
¦\ ¦ C¦ Sooomewhere...over in James mind... Sooomewhere...NAZG is solved... Sooomewhere... NAZG is solved in James's mind... Then whyn't in mine?
I would surmise that yes, the symptom/transmission/ability would need to be activated soon after the sound prompt. As for starting country or GENE selection, it would be too cruel of James to add that into the equation.
If it is sound related then that is cruel to those who can't or don't hear too well. I doubt James would discriminate such. It's a puzzle, one that is driving us crazy, but I doubt the solution is sound related.
Yep - probably with NAZG disabled though so beta testers don't get a head start Date = end june/beginning july hopefully Its hard to get the balance of achievements quite right - I agree this one was too hard Not sound related. However, this is yet another thing that proves that you guys are far far more imaginative than I am!
It is probably not sound related, because sound does not pause in the pause menus. Evolving a coughing symptom when someone coughs would require opening up the menu, opening up symptoms, selecting coughing (which doesn't exist for necroa), and clicking the evolve button. This is either unreasonable or the response window is very large, which means we would have seen it by chance. It would have to have very generous time intervals and be a combination of many cues, and I do not hear may cues I can associate with a symptom. Edit: Never mind just read ^^^
just to establish we have tried devolving everything and making an essentially new virus to fool people right?
It costs DNA to devolve in Necroa, even on casual. To devolve everything would required too much DNA, then where would one get the DNA to evolve new transmissions, abilities and symptoms. This is about timing, doing or undoing the right thing at the right time, we just don't know what the right thing is and when the right time is.
The last time I was on this website was 2-3 months ago, working to help find NAZG. I come back...AND WE ARE STILL WORKING ON IT! XD This achievement is insane...Even all the crazy suggestions haven't worked... Well, let's take this into perspective. 1) James has let us know that this achievement is "nasty", in context "extremely difficult" 2) He has also let us know that this mechanic through which NAZG works is "random-ish". 3) Therefore, we need to create a psych profile of James so we can figure out how he thinks, then we can begin calculating how to solve this achievement! I just wish that we could get this before the update, which changes the mechanic by which NAZG works(Or maybe just give us a hint via popups?)
Ok, I'm game, let's play. We also know that 4) there are no in-game hints or popups, 5) as is, the cure is too fast, the lethality too low. A clue in and of itself.. we've had folks get 100% infection without being noticed.. only to get smacked down after evolving lethality. 6) It's a 'rudimentary' implementation of a mechanic that inspires James to refine the mechanic for later use.. (though random-ish.. perhaps that's because of the danger of CR mutation?) 7) definitely nots: music queues, evolving new and hidden symptom tracks (?), nuking or government breakdown slowing cure enough, and I'm certain a few others that I don't feel like digging through the thread for. That said.. still no new inspirations on which direction to take once more.. only suspicion I currently have is something to do with all three animal 2 (because of the partial genomic activation que), and the unlikely segmented genome (which is usually reserved for the darkwater achievement)
I read a while back that someone hacked and said countrys where only in anarchy after huge deaths on nazg but I've been playing about and getting the pop ups about it at about 20-30% deaths using bat2 rat1 bird1 segmented genome and insomnia to acute encephalitis with delirium just ran out of dna before slowing cure :/ Maybe on the right track?
Doubtful, but if you'd like to explore that further you're welcome to. From what James is saying about this, it's something that hasn't been done before, so we likely aren't going to just stumble upon it. We need to actually come up with possible mechanics through which this works and test them.
True was just a thought but along the mechanic side not sure about what could have been chosen for the game but the deadliest and most complex real world virus's come from an area in africa near lake victoria such as hiv and filo virus like ebola and there are animal born (zoonotic shift?) and the later ebola has a few deadly mutations (segmented genome?) . This is why I've been using these transmissions as a possibility as well as them being unique to necroa as an nazg possibilty (mostly after james's cdc visit)
I wonder if James would be kind enough to let us know if the mechanic is based off of something in the real world? As in this ebola idea. Does the mechanism have any relation to real world science? In this case disease? If James responds to this, we will have a less generalized approach to take in our endeavor to find the answer to this achievement.
Here's a link I found while trying to find possible mechanics for nazg and as bats are only in necroa that was my first search fond it just after posting earlier http://www.cdc.gov/features/bats/?mobile=nocontent Edit necroa also has rabies like sympoms maybe like the swine flu combo to slow the cure? New mechanic may be research from known disease's?
Interesting... I've started in the USA,evolved zoontic shift,bat1&2 and devolved zoontic shift. For some reason the lethality bar stays at 0.. Saliva1&2 helped spread it but when it comes to symptoms.. :| Got cured pretty fast but maybe it's something..Out of clues *_*
