You are not going to get a really high score unless you keep the cure % low. There is only one way to do that and it requires a lot of time/patience. Genes. Meta Hijack, Aqua, Dopamine, Base Oxide, Extreme Start anywhere remote, evolve only the following, Drug 1, Gene Hard, Gene Shuffle 1 and 2. If you get hot/cold countries feel free to evolve heat 1/cold 1, but at a cost to your score. Wait a long time...... On brutal (for me anyway) the above gene/ability evolve combo results in NO random mutations, so I left it running overnight 100% infected and not noticed. Lots of DNA to spend. Evolve to Cytopathic Reanimation and then most of the lower right side symptoms (inc severity and combat). No need for reanimation or hordes. CR etc converts everyone to zombies, very rapidly slowing the cure. Z-COM will get activated in a country 100% infected and a rapidly increasing, powerful zombie population Spend DNA from destroyed countries on more severity/combat symptoms. Z-COM dies shortly thereafter, no need to horde it, country was already 100% infected with super power zombies World either zombie or dead Congrats you just beat Necroa on Brutal with a high score. You can do a quick version "start in china, add heat 1/cold 1, transmission(s) of choice" but this will result in a lower score as you won't have as much DNA to spend. For the slow version I get no random mutations. For the quick version I do sometimes get random mutations if I add transmissions, hence the base oxide gene. Save regularly and if mutation is a transmission (other than segmented genome) then keep going, otherwise deliberately lose the game (get noticed, let cure reach 100% do not evolve CR) and then reload.
Don't worry - I have no plans to change this I can't give a hint without spoiling a mechanic that I would like to use more heavily in the future. (it is used in an unsophisticated way for NAZG but I have since realised it has a lot more potential if treated correctly) The next update will change things - don't worry This will be added in the next update hopefully. In general - sorry for the delayed responses - I'm spending a lot of time trying to find another programmer to join the team. Good news is that once this is done - things will move faster!
Thanks for the response James! Keep up the great work, friend. So.. on the mechanic that we are looking for, without spoiling anything.. is this a logical sequence? I.e. when we finally find it, will we say "Oh, that makes sense now"? Or is it a random-ish set of circumstances?
That's great, thanks! Can I make a suggestion for a future update, please? On the Infection Spread Summary, would it be possible to either colour-code or add some kind of symbol to the lists so we can quickly see how much of the country is infected or dead? At the moment, it looks like the summary just lists countries with 0% infection in the first column, 1% infected - 99% dead in the second, and 100% dead in the third. And while adding extra columns would make the summary unreadable and an accurate mini pi-chart for each country would potentially be difficult (or processor-intensive) to calculate, something simple like a blue box for "slightly infected", a red box for "mostly infected", and a grey box for "mostly dead" could be very handy, just so we can have a quick way of finding out which countries are struggling to infect or die. Alternatively, next / previous buttons (or left / right swipes) on the country pages would also help, so we can scan through all the countries and spot the awkward places that way. Assuming it's not one of the (for me) usual candidates like Canada, Greenland, Morocco or New Guinea, of course
It is probably processor intensive but I would like a % next to each country name in the infection spread summary, but would settle for something like your suggested colour codes.
You cheeky fellow, but that is a good idea, found something by accident keep that for later so we can hound you again
Dear Mr. Ndemic obviously you've created an achievement so difficult and vague that only the designer can solve. i don't understand (even reading your replies) why you still won't give your fans and dedicated game followers a hint, since the SECOND someone figures it out, it will most likely be shared, anyways. out of frustration i am simply calling you out and stating that the achievement is in fact, impossible to do, and this is a very annoying (yet admittedly genius) marketing stunt to get buzz going about your program... even though i am ranting i just want to thank you for the many hours of entertainment
Impossible IMHO no, improbable yes The simple way to check is to keep the current version of the games outside of (in my case for ipad) iTunes. Then when NAZG becomes known revert, temporarily, back to that release and prove if it can / cannot be done. There is no indication that what we have done is on the right path and no idea of how long the path is. It can therefore only be done by blind luck or if you know exactly what to do, when and how - hence improbable. IMHO. Only time will tell
Well it's a mechanic no one has tried (or at least not followed up on enough). Maybe the whole idea of getting people to do the work for you? Sure, miracle cure is a dead end as it needs CR, but maybe there's a sequence shotly after being discovered that causes scientists to use it in medicine or something, which gives massive infection rates similar to the uninfection rate at 100% cure and removes want for cure research or any suspicion that its actually necroa doing it. Like a vaccine using necroa that we reawaken as a lethal virus, but scientists don't notice right away its actually necroa again?
i like the theory, however, even at 100% global infection, and evolving all non CR symptoms, the cure is found way too quickly. i've even (so i think) tried every possible symptom combination to induce some kind of nazg-type event, but alas nothing...
i have had riot events occur because the protesters insist there is an unknown disease, but no deaths or cure dev. slow down
Just randomly brainstorming -- if you manage to get all of the people infected in Necroa via Kayg0000's suggestion, then gather DNA like mad, like that one guy for 200 years, then evolve bat2, and keep devolving symptoms as they pop up, if you could get away with killing everyone that way. ...which would make it the most time consuming game ever. ETA: Disregard. Even without symptoms they notice when you go for Bat2.
Mechanic options Name of disease Starting country We evolve things in right order We devolve things in right order Combination Pretty much all we have to work on, just my thoughts
What i found out about NAZG is... The more Symptoms you evolve the higher is the Money countries spend for cure Research. Means, i played and evolve Till i get autophagie, then devolve all that leads to it and the countries spend the Minimum on cure Research (1 Symptom when you get noticed!). But even when i do so i cant kill fast enough. Just 2.5 Billion dead. Its frustrating.
Any timeline on this update, will it be a 1.5 update or are you including NAZG hints in 1.6? If the latter what else is likely to be in 1.6 and will it be beta tested
Where are the Strategies Post on this thread? I just wanna unlock all the plagues so I can have fun with 'em. All I have is 3 of the seven
