I tried the free version of Placebo and enjoyed it enough to pick up the paid version. Unfortunately, once you pay, the game gets a lot harder. For example, the first enemy type goes from taking a couple of shots to die to 5 or six, which makes the opening encounter a huge chore. And of courses, wherever you die in the level, you end up in exactly that spot. Not fun at all. If the developer gets to read this, a bit of advice: unless you’re From Software, super difficult games need either short levels or tons of checkpoints. Don’t waste my time.
