First off I love this game it's like those 5 second minigame ones except way better. Anyone want to add me on Openfeint and compete for highscores? My OF is Chief Indy
first, I really like this game, BUT does anybody else than me thinks the control layout it not really fluid? Personally I think a Analogue Stcik for left, right, jump might work better then dedicated buttons. Cause this is the one and only downer of a touchscreen that you cannot FEEL the control buttons. So every repositioning of you fingers is nearly predetermined to hit the wrong controls - while this works perfectly with a real Joystick. That´s why e.g. Touch-Anywhere, Gestures, Relative and Dual-Stick scheme work so great on the iPhone. Or is this just me?
Personally, I think the left/right buttons are a little too far to the left - my iPod is in a case and it's hard to move left sometimes. I'll take some screenshots of games I love the controls in and post some for comparison of positioning. Has anyone else noticed that this game appears to be a battery hog? It seems to be draining my battery faster than a lot of other games I've been playing recently, even heavy 3D games like NFS:Shift, with accelerometer use! Despite all the neat stuff I've gotten cheap from EA and Gameloft in the last few days, it's this and Super Quickhook that I keep returning too! EDIT: I would NOT want analog controls for this game, movement should be all/nothing!
This game is a blast, but I can hardly survive the 5 minutes Lovely art, and I think the controls are pretty good. The only thing that I hate is that you can't rotate the landscape, like most other iPhone games.
well i took tha plunge and thankfully the game does now run on 3G. however, whilst it is a nicely designed quick pick up and play game, it just misses the mark for me due to clumsy controls (press fire and jump syndrome doh) but it also just seems to lack that one more go factor. i kinda play thru a couple of games then back to tha spring board fer me. worth buying for the retro style alone mind you.
Surviving 5 minutes should be pretty easy - just play and don't worry about your score, which boils down to: don't touch bats, fall off the screen or shoot yourself!
I havn't run into any issues with the controls so far, even though I must admit the buttons for jump and shoot are a little spread apart, I've yet to miss them because I know how far they are after looking at the screen . Oh and the ability to jump while falling, (seems necessary for some coins) is fantastic! Pretty fun game with eye pleasing graphics and nice music!
@Vincenzo78140 --- Questions for future updates This game looks really fun, but before I buy I want to know about future updates: 1. Will there be a screen flip option for us iPod Touch users? 2. Will there be an option to turn off the music and still keep the soundeffects? I read that several posters have asked for this, but the dev has not yet answered.
I don't understand you guys. 1. It's only a dollar. 2. You've got video. 3. You've got an app description. 4. You've got screenshots. 5 And you've got 24 pages of testimonials!!!
Great little game, with pleasing aesthetics and addicting gameplay. I'll agree with some of the sentiment on here, however. The controls could use a little work. An analog for left/right might be better, and for shooting/jumping, howabout a button for jumping, and if you tap anywhere else on the screen, you shoot? Or vice-versa. The controls are my only gripe for fully enjoying the game. (And I don't want to discourage would-be buyers, game is still worth it.)
Didn't get a chance to do this yesterday afternoon, here's a few screenshots back-to-back to show control positioning. Pix'n Love Rush is definitely the most cramped to the left.
Great game, but like others, I hope they update it and move the buttons on the right closer together. It's a very fun game, with awesome style.
I agree totally! for a dollar, it's a grab. Especially with the game play video, the decision is easier. Chances that price will drop? At most to free! so a dollar is ok. Further more, it's only on this platform that we can enjoy these flood of great games at such prices compared to other platforms (Think Window mobiles (ridiculous!) , PSP and NDS) my problem now, is that i can't stop buying all these great apps that are on sale! Gotta watch the spending...
The games is pretty good but the controls must be improved and i cannot upload scores on OpenFeint it says not ranked but i already played 2 games wtf?
