I need some cheap yet powerful photo editing and art software for my Mac, but GIMP is starting to get on my nerves. It just doesn't flow. For those of you that use it, is it worth the relatively cheap price?

Well, it looks really good. But what's annoying about GIMP? I love it.
EDIT: It's a demo, but I like the interface.

It works fine and all, it just feels clunky, and you can tell it was made for Windows. Trying out Pixelmator... killer interface. I might actually get this. Just need a couple opinions.

It is a fairly solid application. I got it from MacHeist a couple years ago and I still use it frequently. It has grown quite a bit in that time and it now has nearly all the features I need. It is in no position to compete with Photoshop but for the price, I think it is worth it. It launches so much faster than Photoshop (which is another reason I keep coming back to it.) Give it a try for yourself and see if it fits the bill.

And I agree, GIMP is hella ugly on a mac. You might want to take a look at GIMPshop though I have not tried it myself.

Took what you said along with about 30 other reviews and decided to get it. Found a coupon code and saved $13 on it :D Don't really need (or have the cash to get) Photoshop, and Elements is still Windows only. And I'm gonna use it mostly for simple image editing and game graphics, so it work pretty well for me. Was checking out GIMPshop, though, lots of instability and errors, apparently.
