I'm not too upset that the dogs are "special" -- I want to use them exclusively on "GOOD BOY PEACH" for 6u and not burn them on other missions for less return. Also, collecting primates is very useful since (at my level) the "MONKEY BUSINESS" misison nets 150,000,000 coins, or 15 spins at the casino! Since I finished all genes and jobs, I've basically been working the casino exclusively, skipping most missions to get to these two in particular. So far with this method I have collected 12 Manors of Speaking, 5 Precarious Heights and 1 Glass House, so the task of tearing down my old houses has now begun. I've also won 11 bronze plazas, 5 silver plazas, 2 gold plazas and 2 astroglass plazas, so I had to create a "monument district" in my town to place them all neatly. I've also got 12 astroglass trees to add to my utopium collecting forest. At one point, my town was a very neat layout but is now continually growing with new decor, trees, and houses. I can see the benefit in tearing down old houses, but I actually like the "cheap" decor and don't want to delete them. For example, I've got flower beds next to my nursery and greenhouse, and I like how that looks, even though the flower beds aren't high spirit earners.
Those are the 2 best missions. The mission "BEST LAID PLANTS" also pays 6u, but it requires 2 Tier 5 spiders or Caterpillars and a Tier 4 Mouse, but that is ALL it requires (I don't count job requirements, because they don't cost anything). The second highest paying coin mission is "QUICK BUCK" but it only pays a third of what "MONKEY BUSINESS" pays, and still requires half the utopium. Some missions have ridiculously small rewards for the requirements, like why on earth does "HIGH FIVE" which requires 6 Tier 1 animals and 3 Tier 5 animals pay the same 2u that you get from "FOURSIGHT" which only requires 8 Tier 1 animals and 1 Tier 4 animal?
Funny, I wanted to post the exact same thing I got these 2 missions on hold since this morning as I need a few dogs and apes. I blew a lot of money and u in the post update rush "all in on missions". Don't really care, but now is time to focus on the high value missions or decent special ones. As TRBIV said, best laid plants is also great. Decent reward missions imho: -barbecue for a manor - Bear trap for AG bronze plaza for 8 bears -mythical dilemma is ok for coins - quick buck also -Nine lives that grant 3u for 9 tier1 cats -menagerie 4u for 9 different animals (assuming you have a lot) I'm not sure the ones that grant 2u for 9 animals are really worth it, maybe hen you're out of cats and dogs to clear the rest of tier 1 I used a lot of them though because I was at 90u and wanted to get to 100u to get the hitchhiker I was down to only 140 animals, and less than 20 tier 1 from over 400 plus all the ones I won in the last few days But clearly the way to go is the casino to get the special AG items
Missions have minimum value of 1 million coins. With that in mind, early game users would have a MUCH easier time doing those tier-requirement missions and use those to level up. As you enter into the late game, we wanted more challenging missions with fantastic payoffs, so those missions scale MUCH better over the levels.
I'd still be ok with that at higher levels--if you have the ability to select which animals are used. That was a request I made in a message earlier in this thread; I'd like to see the auto-select mechanism removed. (Or maybe make it a $0.99 IAP for people who want to be efficient...?) But if I look at the tier 5 animals, I see value in the Spoiler Dragon for the Spoiler Barbeque mission, and in the two Spoiler insects for the Spoiler best laid plants mission, but nothing significant for the other 9. So after a while, if I have a surplus of tier 5s, why not use them up for a couple of u? Yeah, that mission could be worth more, but it doesn't really matter at this point of the game. But I don't want the auto-select mechanism picking my precious Spoiler dragons, spiders and caterpillars since I'm saving them for something better.
Sthg fun and adding a social aspect would have been a possibility to gift animals à la Pocket Planes. As the possibility to have a look at the town of your GC friends (common feature for this kind of game)
The only problem with blowing truly spare animals on low u missions is the possibility that a later patch might include better uses for them.
I may have encountered a bug regarding the Hotel. I put a bunch of people on vacation, and when it was time to get them out, with two vacant shiny towers to welcome them in, the fireman was stuck in the hotel. The option to send her back to her job was darkened.
You need to send the other fireman to the hotel too, or else the first one will be trapped there forever.
I starting playing this yesterday on iPad, I can't turn on iCloud in the settings on any of my devices. Anybody know how this works?
I totally agree with this. However not the 99c IAP or asking us to pay any amt (be it coins or u) to "unlock" disabling auto select. i think it is a right that should be given to us. anyway, Auto select makes it easier for beginners maybe. But I am pretty sure majority will want to be able to choose what animals in each category they want to use. I also suggest the similar process whereby we tap on each square then we will be given selection to choose. I don't want to send all my kitties away Another problem also is the special category. I am also quite frustrated as to why so many tier 1 animals are "special" when a lot of the mission requires full 9 tier 1 animals and not allow special ones. In this case, when they put tier one they really mean only the cats and donkey. And I believe a lot of mayors here will have tons of dogs and unicorns to spare. Some changes here will be good Ps: anyway I must still say the upgrade is a blast. It makes the game completely unique. Good job!
Wow, am I the only one who thinks the game is too easy? I mean, even after update. Of course I had like 2.2 billion in the bank before upgrading to 1.3, but still. Maybe I'm playing wrong, but I already won/received everything new, including animals, and started to remove normal houses and decor in favor of astroglass ones. Just because I can, not because it's needed. I think there is not enough challenge for the experienced players with cities that make more than 3k/sec income and have maxed out decor/housing/etc. And yes, the game is still awesome.
ICloud was available at launch but disabled in a patch as it wasn't working consistently, was causing problems and sapping battery. Dev said they'd look to reinstate it at some point, but they've given no time frame AFAIK.
I am confused really and hope someone can help: I am stuck at 160/210 jobs. I am aware that I can get access to new ones by solving missions, but even after skipping the available missions several times, I still lack so many of the requests. So, it will probably take me weeks to get one of those jobs. Isn't there *any* new job that I can just splice in the "traditional" way?? Are all 50 jobs I am lacking linked to the missions? I don't get it... ( Thanks for your help
I guess you need one of the special jobs to continue splicing. Skip until you find one special gene where you're not missing a lot of animals. Either do a lot of surprises, buy animals at the shelter or buy casino spins to get the missing animals Or you may also unlock the special genes for 100u (that seems a lot but it's 4 days of tapping trees to get the 25 daily u) I suggest do the first and keep the u for sthg else. Higher tier animals dropout increased significantly with the update, so it should take a few days at most. Be sure not to do low paying u/cash missions as they could deplete your animals needed for the special genes Voilà
Casino spins will never get you any animals you haven't already saved via surprises; they only can give extra animals of types you already know. If you're looking for a new type of animal, use the shelter/grind hearts for surprises, rather than spending your money at the casino.
Ooops forgot that my bad! It may be useful though if you already discovered the animals but don't have any more in stock. Btw, for those using the casino a lot, do you think it gives you mostly animals needed in your current missions or is just random? I'm pretty sure it can give you an animal you already discovered but don't have anymore.
