Oh cool, I found the assistant myself, haha. I try the plumber now. There should be a list on the front page, idk if developers are going to allow that though, and kind of ruins the game.
For everyone wondering where to buy the $0.99 Double Time IAP Spoiler You can purchase it in the Enterprise building which you get when you make an Industrialist. Industrialist = Salesman + Salesman. Salesman is a gene that you will receive from an event, I'm not sure if it is entirely random or if it is somehow triggered. EDIT: Also, even if you don't plan on buying it, click on it and you'll get an achievement. Just cancel the purchase after you click it.
Dear Lamdamu Overlords, Mayorship is progressing better than expected, as there are currently 36 residents and a host of animals living in Utopia. Citizens are contributing to society and are quite cheerful. However, we seem to be running into a bit of a housing crunch. I'd like to make the best use of the space we have by demolishing older housing units to make way for more space-efficient housing. Naturally, you can't demolish a home with people living in it, but is there a way for them to move into a different residence while a new one is being built? Also, in terms of residential construction, are there plans to make the cost of progress scaleable? That is to say, if it costs 4U to speed up a building that takes 2 hours to build, are there plans to make it cost 2U with 1 hour left to build? For example, I have a house with 19 minutes to go and it still costs 4U to speed it up. It would certainly ease the burden of city planning. Finally, I'm sure there are many other mayors who would like the opportunity to visit other Utopias and connect our respective communities. Is this part of a bigger, greater plan? Thank you for your time and attention in this matter.
As it stands, a building that takes 23 hours to build also costs 4U to speed up. I'd rather not see this change, and you'll come to appreciate the constant cost as you progress further.
Looks lovely, doesn't seem to have any point at all though. Not sure why people think it's a good thing the game doesn't really need IAPs to play, how are they going to make money?
True it doesn't NEED IAPs if you're a patient person, but some people don't want to wait over 24 hours for buildings or wait 15+ minutes for a clone. I am sure that enough people are going to purchase IAPs to make the company some money. Hell, I'm sure at least half of the people here are going to spend a buck on the Double Time IAP, I already did. This game is easily worth a dollar.
Those blue icons on your buildings mean that they aren't "working" and aren't earning you any money. You need to tap them to start them again. Each building "works" for a different length of time, some you have to tap every 2 minutes where as others will work for an hour before stopping. Also, if you purchase the Double Time IAP for $0.99 then it will double the amount of time each building will work for and decrease the amount of attention and tapping you need in order to keep up your revenue.
I'm not quite clear on what adding workers to businesses does. Obviously you need one person working there, but I didn't notice anything different when I added additional people. And there doesn't seem to be a reason to buy the more expensive housing, as someone else pointed out. It The 4 person unit costs most than twice as much as the 2 person, and takes up more space. So what's the point? Is it just cosmetic?
IAP Done this way is IAP done right IMO, and the only IAP I will buy (its a rule a really try not to break). When you dont feel forced into buying IAP, and the game is this good, it almost makes you feel guilty, makes you WANT to give your money away and support the dev for their game. On the other hand you take the EXACT same game, and make the IAP a necessity to progress etc, and you go from a very positive experience to a very negative one, not nearly as many people will hand their money over, and on top of that I have to assume word of mouth will spread a lot faster from people who genuinely enjoy the game. *EDIT* To clarify it is consumables I hate, is it the time doublers etc that I think are great. I dont mind the premium consumable currency nearly as much though, when the devs are so generous with it as well. It is easy to earn in this game.
Space is at a premium in this game, as opening up more space becomes very costly as you progress. So far the best value seems to be Spoiler Atomic cottages? which you can get with premium currency (which I still have tons of from tutorial)
It just increases the coin output from the building. i.e. if your person gives 2 cps, adding another person that also gives 2 cps gets you 4 cps total. And if you fill the building (and have a bank), the total output doubles (the +X shows as green rather than white).
Each worker makes a certain amount of money, you can see how much by clicking on a building and then clicking on a worker. It is listed below their workplaces and is called Productivity. For example the Mayor has a Productivity of 1 CPS (Coin Per Second) meaning that every second that the Town Hall is working the Mayor is producing 1 CPS. Each building also has a Production Multiplier which you can view by clicking on a building and then selecting STATS tab at the bottom of the window. For example the Town Hall has a Production Multiplier of 1, which means all workers in that building make their Productivity, but the City Square has a Production Multiplier of 8, which means all workers in that building make 8x their Productivity. So a Janitor with a Productivity of 2 would make 16 CPS while working in the City Square. Finally, once you have a Bank, all fully staffed buildings will get an additional bonus of 2x. So with a bank, now that Janitor working at a fully staffed City Square is making a whopping 32 CPS. The first set of Residential options are awful, the only one worth buying is the Rocky Mansions, the other 2 provide no benefits and simply end up costing more money. However once you upgrade your land to 60 plots you'll unlock 2 additional Residential options, one that houses 4 clones on one space of land, and one that houses 6 clones on 2 spaces of land. Except this time the second option is the better choice because you actually save money. Then once you upgrade your land to 110 spaces you'll unlock a house that holds 6 clones on 1 space of land.
I disagree, I think 4 clones in 1 house is the much better option. Yes it 'costs' more in coins (and currency) but as the land costs themselves keep going up... I find it much more cost effective.
I figure it is easier to generate coins to buy more land, than it is to generate 1.5x as much Utopium.
Love the game, style and developers. Also not so IAP heavy for a freemium game. Bought double time to support the devs (and also it's a great buy ) Others have said something similar, I also think if a clone has already been discovered, the "reveal formula" button for 5u should become free for other buildings that use those clones.
Is there any way to delete occupied houses (even though I have room enough in other houses for them to stay in) or make them move from house to house individually?
Thank you very much for this game, I am having a lot of fun with it. IAP: I am happy to read about the time double thing. I haven't unlocked the building yet, but it's the first thing I want to do tomorrow, when my five shiny towers (great name ) are built and I have space again for more residents. Great to know that there is a permanent IAP because I don't like to bux premium currencies. In some games you hit a paywall and have to buy currency to continue...till you hit the next wall and so on. I never buy something like this. This game has done it well, the premium currency is part of the game, you earn it while playing the game. It's great, because I don't feel forced to buy something, but it's also bad, because I would feel like a cheater after buying the currency. When it's part of the gameplay to earn the currency, I want to do it so, because it is a fun challenge. I don't want to remove this challenge. Some other things I would pay for: more options to customize the city. The observatory unlocks something interesting, I would pay for a premium pack of this something with more fancy colours or so. I would also pay for a roadwaypack, instead of the grey roads I would love some stony or sandy roads perhaps with flowers instead of trees or so.
