i finally unlocked my last animal in Tier 4 and got the achievement as well as the Utopium reward. However, the animal is not showing up rooster. It's the first animal of Tier 4 before Macaw. Anyone else has this problem? By the way, is there a mission to unlock HitchHiker or just a straight 100u to unlock the gene?
I did the same, bought almost evthg I could, but not the 100u ones, couldn't afford them. I guess I'll forget about the special missions, got some of the items at the casino already, it's cheaper So what the players here should do first and foremost is to unlock the special genes before sending their pets to the slaughterhouse Once it's done, kill'em all! I agree, at least we can use the animals for sthg, 2 or 3u don't seem much, but you can get animals very fast now with only 4 hearts, and they appear to pop up faster also. This adds up pretty fast. I'd like confirmation too though, that once an animal is unlocked, even if you have zero in stock, they still may appear at the casino.
Thks for the honest answer Ivan. About the casino, I HATE it... not! There's no way I will ever have 150m again to level up lol. I keep spending my coins over and over again I want to add, that I really enjoy the clever and funny names, catchphrases, splicing nuts ideas, utopia comment on buildings, and tiny graphical details... We often are more technical here, but that's also what hooked me on the game. And many thks to answer here this fast and straightworthy. Spoiler one I find hilarious is accountant+accountant. The baseball guy catchphrase too
All you need is the hotel. Simply go to a residence, select the residents and send them on vacation. Once the residence is empty you can delete it and from the hotel you can move the residents back into any available housing you have. Residents in the hotel don't take up any space in houses, so they can get (temporarily) stuck there when you have no available housing. You effectually have 6 more places to store people. Also, I finally got some of those remaining tier 5 animals. Still no bat though A dragon would finish of the other mission now though. Found some more "golden couples" I had randomly, so I get golden hearts a bit more often (it does seem to effect your chances of getting a (rare) animal).
Scrolled back eight pages and don't see anyone else with my problem. I am crashing constantly since the patch. Reboots do nothing. It is related to game center as I can make it crash immediately by trying to open up the GC achievements.
Trentos: np, one thing I forgot to mention though, it costs 1u to send a resident on vacation and you have the chance to get that back when you return them from vacation. But that means it could cost up to 12u to move 6 residents from inefficient housing into a new shiny tower. If you're deleting housing that cost money though (with space for 2 residents per land), you essentially get 2 land back. Buying 2 land with 12u is, if anything, more economical than buying 2 land for 16u at the church. And there's always a chance you get your utopium back when you move residents out of the hotel. So on average it's probably gonna cost you 9u or something (I'm guessing here, that there's a 50/50 chance to get your utopium back from the hotel).
Here's my general philosophy of play, in priority from top to bottom: 1. Unlock all special genes 2. Fill up all existing buildings a) firstly with undiscovered genes that do not need a new building b) then with existing, known genes 3. When 2 can no longer be completed without creating a new building, splice a new gene that needs a new building 4. Repeat 2 & 3 5. Consolidate all housing to Shiny Towers 6. If at this point land has run out but there are still slots in houses left, increase land at Astro Church to build a new Shiny Tower, then repeat 2. 7. Upgrade all buildings to level 5 8. Once all slots filled and all buildings upgraded, and all houses are now Shiny Towers, upgrade level to gain 10 land and continue expansion. The more dynamic elements are when to use things like trees and decorations. It is personal preference where you wish to prioritise - either have as much land available as possible for houses and buildings, or compromise and have some trees and decor to make some things cheaper, earn more U etc. Obviously all this time you need to be earning money and U, so do lots of missions, animal shelters, casinos, manual earning of surprises and tapping trees. I think this area could be improved as the Casino and shelter are too expensive, the casino rewards should be consistently and significantly higher, and I'm not clear when U is earned through hearts (I've done a lot of Gold hearts and I never earn U when this happens).
I got a 1u surprise with a gold heart recently. Thing is that the chance of getting utopium from a surprise has been lowered to favor animals (there's like a 60% chance of getting an animal now). I reckon golden hearts increase the chance of animals even further, so lowering the chance of getting utopium in the process.
Congrats! Im still missing 2 tier 5 animals, and one happens to be the bat to unlock one of the special genes.
Weird bug Somehow I've ended up with -16 Octopus's. I'm not sure how this happened but have included a screen shot so you can see...
I can't seem to find the Mission for the Hitchhiker gene. Currently, the missions screen shows four available missions (2 for coins, 1 for u, and one for Manor of Speaking) and two mission boxes have locks on them.
hitchhiker is only unlocked for 100u in the building listing special genes. No missions. That's 4 days of 25u from tapping trees, it's not that bad
The odds are considerably higher for tier 4 and 5 animals I had still 4 unknown tier 4 animals with about 350 animals in total. I found them all in 2 days, and all the class 5 at least once.
This is a bug that results from the fact that your animals would show up in a mission twice. E.G. say a mission requires 9x "Aquatic" animals, since you have 1 Octopus, the one octopus may be picked 9 times by the mission system (as the criteria for selecting the animal in a slot is having at least 1 of that animal). So, completing the mission would result in a -8 octopus. We've fixed this. In 1.41.
In response to TRB4: M-5 most likely means "level-based coins with a 5x multiplier". Because it costs 44mil for me, not 56mil. For reference: M-1 = what you would get from a 5u exchange. M-5.625 = what you would get from a 25u exchange. M-25 = what you would get from a 100u exchange. (I think) If that's true, I'm at level 23 (well, it says level 23 in the upgrade screen) and M-1 = 8,800,000 (therefore M-5 is 44,000,000). Surprise prizes seem to have no relation with this. I got 97,000 from a pack (not sure small or large).
Thanks for the info Tukken. Yeah, I am level 26 and my M-1 = 11,200,000 (therefore M-5 is 56,000,000). So it looks like you should finish as many missions as possible before leveling up. Once again it looks like your hypothesis is correct! I love when you help me learn more about the games code, you were also the one that explained to me how the odds were determined Thanks for you help. On a separate note, after playing this update for a while, I have come to the conclusion that "new" players are going to have a much tougher road to hoe than those of us who have been playing from the beginning. The following is a list of things that are now harder: 1) The achievement "Just Playin' Cupid" now costs twice as much money. 2) The achievement "All My Lovin'" now costs 120u more 3) It is much harder to get the "Bank bonus" for buildings now, since they all have more workers 4) Earning utopium, the odds and value of utopium prizes have been greatly reduced, so it takes much much longer to earn utopium. The only things that has been made easier is the amount of spirit needed for max discount and the fact that you can delete inefficient housing. Also, I wanted to mention how I feel about the "Instant Surprises" at the Animal Shelter. I only need 4 hearts to get a Surprise, and it literally takes 30 seconds from the point you finish filling a heart till you're filling another one, so like 2 minutes per Surprise. The Animal Shelter costs me 4M per Instant Surprise, that is 1M per heart, or roughly 1M per 30 seconds. Therefore in my mind, unless I can get my CPS above 33,334 then the Animal Shelter is never worth it to me. But then again, I can be patient.
Its a good point. I too feel that the Animal Shelter and Casino are both far too expensive compared to the rewards they pay out. They should both be more appealing (and I don't mean by making hearts harder to earn!!).
