You don't actually have to make them. All you have to do is click on them in the mission screen and "remind" HQ how to make them! This got me really intrigued as I thought it was completely random, so instead of doing my assignment like the studious student I should be, I did some research on golden hearts (hey, it's still kinda biology, right?! haha) After doing hearts for the past half hour or so, I managed to get the golden heart twice. I logged both times. The first time was when the heart was beside the Mechanic and Mayor. The second time, Preacher and Philosopher. So what I'm thinking is a golden heart appears when it's beside a couple that actually combines to make another job, as these two combinations result in Engineer and Oracle respectively. I know two pieces of data doesn't mean much, but I've logged a few of the normal hearts and none of them combined into anything. So going by what you said, I'm assuming there's a way to move around people more effectively coming up? I refuse to spend 1u to move around everyone as that's going to get really expensive. I see the hotel only useful for freeing up space in the arrival centre as you're waiting for their building to finish up (but even at that, I rather spend the extra 3u to speed up the 18hrs). As for what exactly they do, from my experiences, they boost rates for higher tiered animals. Not exactly sure on this one though!
I have a question about skipping missions. How is this limited? I noticed when I skipped a mission, I couldn't skip the next one straightaway (it was grayed out). Which I understand, otherwise people would just be skipping missions until they found a favourable one. However, it seemed that after a while I was able to skip that mission, so I assumed it was just timed (again, to avoid misuse of skipping). However, now I have 2 missions for special genes for which I'm missing 1 or more particular animals. I have skipped these missions previously, but after completing a different one they rerolled (not a big surprise, there's only one other special gene mission left for me). Am I now stuck with these missions until I complete them (perhaps because I already skipped them once?) or can I skip them again later on, maybe by complete a certain task? I'm curious, because I'm now basically stuck without any new genes to splice and I'm fairly sure I can actually already complete the other special gene mission.
Reserving animals would be really nice; for instance, on my bear trap, it would have been good to lock in some of the bears while I reloaded it trying to not use my gummi or all of my polars. I have a guess for what the golden heart does: Spoiler I think when you have a golden heart it gives you an animal which is immediately useful for an open mission. So far that has seemed correct, at least; I'll keep watching out for it to see if it ever doesn't apply. Do the money missions scale with level, or are they always set values? (I'm seeing missions at 3M and 13M at the moment. 210 total land.)
Thanks for the reply. I think it may be bugged then for me, as I've had these particular missions since yesterday. Perhaps something goes wrong when it's a mission you've already skipped once before? Also, great work on xbtran (especially after Ivan's confirmation ). I would like to add to that, that a golden heart doesnt guarantee you a new animal (or any animal), as I've gotten even the lowest monetary reward with one golden heart. Rather, I'd say it increases you're chances for an animal, perhaps even a new animal. A second golden heart would increase it even more, I guess.
My main use for the hotel is to delete inefficient houses; move everyone out of a house, delete it, then move them back into a new shiny tower. Thus, expansion without paying for an expansion. This method gets 2 free slots for about 9u (I'm seeing refunds about half the time on the return from the hotel), which is comparable to the rate from the law office without requiring you to save all 40 up at once.
Elementary, my dear Ivan. Haha! Yea I figured this would be the best usage. But in my head I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for that. Maybe that's just me being stingy haha. I'll probably end up doing that if that's the only option and when land gets tighter.
I think you have the lat 2 genes unlocked by missions. The last one is only buy able with u I think. That's why, you can't skip, because they're the last 2. After that, the 2 missions slots are locked
I was able to solve the Firefighter issue by sending the second Firefighter on vacation too. Then you can return both of them to the fire station.
That's not the case for me though. According to the Gene Pool I have 4 more special genes to go. One of which is the Hitchhiker, who has no mission but just costs 100u. The other three all have missions according to the Gene Pool. I still need the musician, the sports star and Jack Frost (I like what they did there btw). The missions Wonderland and Ice and Fire are open now, but I cant complete those on account of missing animals. But I can't skip any either and haven't been able to since yesterday or so (a skip should give me the mission Team Names, to unlock the sports star). Again, I skipped both these missions before, perhaps that's what's causing trouble?
Yep, if you can't skip the special gene missions, it means there are no more left beyond those two that are displayed. Great work btw.
As I said in my post on the previous page, I still have 3 gene missions to complete (the musician, the sports star and Jack Frost), so I should be able to skip them, right?
Thanks for the insightful updates you provide Ivan. I see that you mention update 1.41. Does that mean that 1.4 has already been submitted to Apple for approval?
