They are found in the new building "Utopia HQ", for which you need to clone either a Politician, Civil Servant or Officer.
As well as costing twice as much, Surprises no longer pay out Utopium. This was my primary method of obtaining it and so I'm a bit disappointed by this decision as it will make a big difference to progress.
Hmm this is weird. We'll take a look at that. Good news is that the only building with 2x of the same job in it is actually the Fire Station.
Hi Ivan, great to see you guys on here responding to queries! Could I ask a question? With the 1.3 update is it still possible to obtain Utopium through Surprises purchased through the Animal Shelter? This was possible when purchased through the Gene Pool but now it seems the purchased Surprises only pay out animals and money. Is this a bug? If not a bug, why was this ability removed? Thanks in advance!
@Ivan About the special gene unlocking missions, I assume when you skip them, they will come back later? Also I guess if I don't need coins, I should skip the missions awarding cash instead of getting my animals to the slaughterhouse great update guys!
Yep! Missions will always be available sooner or later. And, haha, nope, they don't get sent to the slaughterhouse. they, uh, get sent to a better place?
It doesn't seem to be possible to skip a mission if you fully qualify to be able to complete it (i.e. if you have all the requirements). Would be nice to still be able to skip it even if I have all the requirements, as I may just not want to complete that sort of mission and see a different mission with different types of rewards.
I have found a weird quirk where even though I have many new jobs to discover, none of the job categories are showing up highlighted. Usually, when a job is able to be spliced with another one in order to create a new job that has not yet been discovered, that job, and the category it sits in, is highlighted. Anyone able to explain this? Is it because I need to unlock a new job in the Missions to be able to unlock more new jobs? Screenshot attached.
Check the missions at Utopia HQ, you should see missions that will unlock more Special Genes that will light up the categories again.
Ah ok so that is why. Thanks! Didn't realise I had to unlock the mission genes in order to continue discovering new jobs.
Now that the requirement for 50% discount is lowered, should i just delete the remaining decor i have to free up space? Doesn't seem like the surplus i have does a thing now?
Spirit now scales with level. We'll be tweaking the values for the next few patches, so I suggest that you keep them around. PS: We are leaning towards the stance that it's much too easy to hit the cap right now.
lol Another question as you're here if you don't mind! I assumed that the animals exchanged in missions for coins and U bounties are not the same as the animals you need to unlock special genes? I hope I'm right, because I would not like to run out of a rare animal I need to unlock the xxx special gene for a mere 3u!
