Ah, okay, so there is a cap on coin exchange? Because I thought that it increased exponentially like this:

So what is the cap on coin exchange and at what level does it stop increasing?

My current stats - I have 155/155 people, all buildings full, only about 25% are upgraded, 354/355 land, population of 366/368 with 65 residences, and most achievements except for Tier 4 Animals (need 4 more), build 30 trees (16 seems to work fine for me), and All My Lovin (don't want to waste the u).

I am generating 6580 cps with one of each building and 24 x City Square.

I have room for another 6 City Squares in my world design, but I may just save up coins and u for the next update.

Nah I think it's capped at 100u/300m. So with full discount, slightly more than legal loophole.
Did you really think Ivan would have let such an imbalance wreck the late game ;) ?

It's best to use coin for expansion when possible anyway, as coins can't be used for anythg else whereas u may come in handy with later updates I guess.

You did balance the game well, but I'm not sure you should have listened to all the whiners about the cost of expansion in the latest update.
Having a price cap on land expansion means that, as you grow your income, it's faster to get the 150m at each level.
Will that not be a problem in the end?
I already can buy a land expansion with coins every other day, which is faster than before the update. And I'm not even trying that hard!
Not complaining :D, just wondering ;)

So the max is 100u for 300m? Then Legal Loophole is still cheaper.

Guess I'll just have to slowly plow my way up to level 50 then. Unlike most people here, I don't want to have any duplicate buildings in my town. So my CPS will remain at 1796, and that's only during the 20 minutes that all 75 buildings are running.

While I can certainly understand the short term gain of having 10-20 City Squares or Stadiums, I just don't want all those unnecessary buildings, houses, and clones in my town when money is no longer relevant.

I'm in the same boat, but for different reasons. The thing I enjoy most about this game is city planning and I don't want a cluster of the same buildings somewhere in my city as I think it looks ugly. Haha. I don't mind making less money and waiting it out.

Very little people reach the stage you are in. However, more importantly, the new content patch will provide a tension for players such as yourself on where to spend their coins at.

While we're at this. I'd like to take the opportunity to mention the upcoming changes to the Decor/Spirit system.

What we're currently experiencing is that most players either do not bother with decor or they max it out relatively early on. In order to fix this, we've modify how Spirit works. It is as follows:

    1) 1 spirit will now give you the SAME increment of expansion cost discount and time discount.
    2) The cap for spirit is now 20 spirit when you first start the game.
    3) The spirit cap grows every level. At a rate of 3 spirit per level early on and, eventually, 6 spirit per level later on.
    4) 0.5 spirit buildings will now give 1.0 spirit. Their cost will now be 1u.

What this means is that early on in the game, in order for you to receive the MAXIMUM 50% discount on time/expansion cost, all you need is 7x 3spirit decor. This will provide players with more incentive to max it out early on.

However, as the game progresses, players will be required to build additional decor per level to keep the MAX discount.

Additionally, there will be a new class of Decor items that will be available to the player via different methods. More info on this later.

So something like this, 50% time/cost is:

    20 spirit @ L1
    23 spirit @ L2
    26 spirit @ L3
    29 spirit @ L4
    32 spirit @ L5
    35 spirit @ L6
    38 spirit @ L7
    41 spirit @ L8
    44 spirit @ L9
    47 spirit @ L10
    50 spirit @ L11
    56 spirit @ L12
    62 spirit @ L13
    ... and so on?

Frankly that seems a lot more like busy work and a massive utopium sink than an incentive, unless by incentive you mean an incentive to create ugly deco-vomit monstrosities ;)

In fact, even if that scale I threw out is wrong and it stays at 3 per level until, let's say, L30 (or higher), at L23 (where I am), my current "done bought every decoration worth buying for aesthetic reasons" will still be nowhere near max even with the upgrades to the 0.5 spirit items I have a good number of (I would be at 82 spirit after the boost, and it will take 86 (if only 3 per level) spirit to max at this level even though I've already used about 20% of my land for deco items). If it does start to scale more aggressively with the 6 per level earlier on, then all you're doing is creating a speed bump by decreasing the expansion rate since it's not going to be realistic for anyone to have it maxed (which I guess might be the point).

Good points. We're still watching closely on how it scales. Our intention with the new system is to make it so that building decor is relevant no matter what level you are at. And by relevant, we mean "you should keep an eye out on your spirit at all times" rather than "every X level you have to spend 10u to keep max discount".

How about daily rewards other then just one or 2u maybe a login bonus or something. One day gets you one u then two gets you 2u and so forth but 5 gets you a rare animal or a gene you can only get by playing everyday?

Or add genes to the heart collection so its more incentive to go do it. Cause I stopped doing hearts even after making it out.

What if you scaled spirit as a function of total land possessed? This would make it like real cities where one park in a tiny town is sufficient to keep people happy, but one park in a huge metropolis doesn't really do much.

EDIT: I never pay attention to spirit anyways so my input is fairly irrelevant :p gotta scrounge my precious land for more residencies!!

I think the new system would work out, as long as there's a good number of new decorations that are unlocked progressively to keep things fresh, or something that would look nice with a bunch of them up (like walls). I just hate having a cluster of things in a random spot - the same reason why I'm happy with one of each building.

Yup, the goal is for spirit to essentially scale with land. I wish I could say more with the other gameplay mechanics that will help the new changes, but as always, we want players to discover the systems for themselves.

    Level 50

With these type of games I set myself goals, especially when the content runs out. I've now got to level 50 and my other goal was to earn 10k cps. Which I did today. Next one is all buildings to level 5 which should be achieved by the end of the week by using my money to accelerate hearts. Fun so far but need more content!

Updates sound good, I've only just started with the decor, all I do daily now is wake up all my buildings, farm the forest and collect 3 or 4 lots of hearts.

This thread needs an update too, it's showing an extra 4 pages that you can't get to now !!

Not out to get you, just somewhat poorly implemented from a perception p.o.v.. I've rescued 307 and am 1 yellow and 6 red away from completion. It has been, I believe, more than 2 weeks since I last received a new animal.

However, I don't see it as anything out get me. I'm not sure how they did the odds exactly (it's probably been posted but I've avoided looking at too much of the meat - I'm obsessive enough with what I figure out on my own without using data from the game files ;)), but let's say it was something simple where you were 4X more likely to get a blue, 3X more likely to get a yellow, 2X more likely to get a green, and the red just are. Even with that very gentle rarity curve, the odds of getting any particular red is 1 in 185, and I'd have to have rescued well over another 1000 animals before I could even begin to feel like the odds weren't in my favor. Heck, even if the rarity curve were even gentler, say blues were only 1.75X as frequent as reds, you still have to rescue over 1000 animals in all to be likely to have a complete set.

So, not so much that the RNG gods aren't favoring you so much as the design is too elusive relative to the reward. If we were competing for a $10,000 cash reward, nobody would be complaining at these odds, but with the current payoff being a whole 7 utopium, 30 GC points, along with a few more heavily pixelated dots in our forests unless we zoom all the way in, not exactly compelling or rewarding.

Yeah. I've been playing the game since November. Still missing 4 pink animals. Problem was we had a feature that would greatly help the unlock rate, but never had the time to implement it. Options to aid the discovery will hopefully be out soon!
