The game does in fact still progress even when the app is not open. Each building has a timer, and it will work and produce coins for the duration of that timer. For example, the Bank only works for 2 minutes, whereas the Stadium will work for 2 hours. Here are some tips for earning coins as efficiently as possible: - Hopefully you have a Bank already, if you don't Spoiler Splice a clone with Mayor + Deputy . The bank will double the Coins Per Second (CPS) of every building that is fully staffed with workers. - Move your workers around to maximize your CPS. There is no penalty for moving an employee from one workplace to another, use this to your advantage and figure out where each worker should be. For example, let's look at the Physiotherapist. When working at the Spa all by himself, he earns 12CPS, because he has a Production Rate of 3, and the Spa has a Multiplier of 2, and since the Spa only has a staff of 1, it is fully staffed and thus gets its CPS doubled by the bank (3*2*2=12). Whereas if the Physiotherapist was working at the Clinic all by himself, he would only be earning 9CPS, because he has a Production Rate of 3, and the Hospital has a Multiplier of 3 (3*3=9), but the Hospital has a staff of 3 and therefore does not get the bank bonus. However, if the Clinic did have a Doctor and a Nurse, then the Physiotherapist would be earning 18CPS at the Clinic. That is why you need to reevaluate your buildings employees to best maximize your CPS per worker. - The other thing you should do is move your workers to buildings with longer timers when you plan on not playing for a while. For example, let's look at the Mathematician. Sure the Mathematician makes 8CPS at the Business Center, but that building only works for 3 minutes at a time, that means that if you start your Business Center and then go to sleep, the next morning that Mathematician will have earned a total of 1440 coins all night. But had you moved the Mathematician to the University where they only make 4CPS, they would have worked for 1 hour, and would have been able to make a total of 14400 coins, that's 10 times as much during the same amount of time that you aren't playing. So basically, place clones in the fastest earning CPS (Production Rate * Multiplier) positions while you're playing, and place them in the highest earning (Production Rate * Multiplier * Working Time) positions when you stop playing. It is also worth noting that the Double Time IAP (available in the Enterprise building) is definitely worth the $0.99 it costs, if this is a game that you really enjoy and like to play a lot. The Double Time IAP will double the Working Time of every building in your town. Also, once you have a Tech Support building you can increase each buildings working time by spending utopium. I hope these tips help you acquire the ever increasing amount of coins necessary to keep up with land expansion costs. Good luck and have fun!
Actually, as a game developer (I don't make Pixel People, obviously) and based on my personal tests, I believe this is how Chance works (not sure though): Spoiler A number from 0 to 100 is generated. It decides which reward you get. If the generated number is lower than the Chance value of the reward, you get it. In case more than one item has Chance value higher than the generated number, you get the item with the lowest Chance. If that's true, the actual chances are as below: Tree reward: 0.0% chance for 5u and second entry of 3u [0 - 0] 90.0% chance for 100c [90 - 0] 5.0% chance for 1000c [95 - 90] 4.9% chance for 1u (10c if already obtained 25 from trees) [99.9 - 95] 0.1% chance for 3u (10c if already obtained 23 from trees) [100 - 99.9] Heart reward: 28.0% chance for 5000c [28 - 0] 8.0% chance for 50000c [36 - 28] 9.0% chance for 2u [45 - 36] 5.0% chance for 5u [50 - 45] 50.0% chance for animal [100 - 50] 0.0% chance for rare character [100 - 100] Animal tiers: 50.0% chance for tier 1 [50 - 0] 30.0% chance for tier 2 [80 - 50] 14.0% chance for tier 3 [94 - 80] 6.0% chance for tier 4 [100 - 94] Heart reward with animal tier in consideration: 3.0% chance for random tier 4 animal 5.0% chance for 5 Utopium 7.0% chance for random tier 3 animal 8.0% chance for 50,000 Coins 9.0% chance for 2 Utopium 15.0% chance for random tier 2 animal 25.0% chance for random tier 1 animal 28.0% chance for 5,000 Coins This means, on average, you'll get 43u per 100 heart rewards. This also means that you can exchange 200,000,000c in the Gene Pool for approximately 43u (and get some animals in the process), and this is probably the point where exchanging Coins for Utopium and using the Utopium you get in the Law Firm can be more efficient that upgrading directly with Coins, depending on your luck. It seems to match pretty well with my testing results.
Well, I'm not 100% positive about it though. Anyway, I got a weird bug today. When reorganizing my town, I managed to place a 4 tile building on top of my trees. I had to move my trees to be able to move the building again. The weird thing? When that happened, two of my trees were eaten. I had 33, now I have 31. I can buy the trees again, it's okay. However, I'm 2 land short of what I'm supposed to get (was 1 land short when I unlocked Reporter). I counted over and over and saw only 191 tiles, but my land watch says 193. No, I'm not splicing anything that requires land at the moment. What happened when I was moving the building was that, when trying to tap the "Yes" button in the confirmation, I accidentally tapped outside or something and the game thought I was going to place the building where the "Yes" button was. However, despite the fact that the location was filled with trees, the "Yes" button remained there. I pressed it again, and it happened. If Astro Church can bypass the 500 land limit, I lost 18u. Otherwise, that's 2 land I will never get back. So, a suggestion for a future update, how about having the repair button recalculate your land (by counting the tiles)? That will fix all the weird land-related issues that we're currently having. On a side note though, I love how Spoiler the color of the "Curious" category is random. It's a really nice touch.
Allready did that with most buildings. All open spots are undiscovered jobs. I am gradually earning coins, but that stops when going away from the app or when the buildings need to be refreshed after a few minutes. I am also trying to figure out what I am suppose to do with animals. Cant use them.
Bugs I recently restarted and I'm finding a few issues with the game. Anyone else got these? After restarting I restored my IAP but now there is no IAP button in the Enterprise which means I am unable to complete the "Long Term Planning" achievement After using the research lab twice I still have to collect 11 stars, shouldn't this have been reduced? Overall really enjoying it hence supporting the game with some IAP'ing
The first, although reported numerous times, is not exactly a bug. You "cheated" by getting the double time prior to unlocking the Enterprise building and, so, no utopium for you. Both of my kids managed to handle this just fine: wait until they got the Enterprise building *then* restore/re-buy (same thing by the way) the double time. Not exactly tricky. The devs haven't responded to the reports that I noticed, so no idea if they plan on "fixing" the issue, but I have to imagine it would be near the bottom of the pile when it only affects people who A) have restarted the game and B) are intentionally going out of their way to do things wrong. The second is a matter of not paying attention. You do *not* have to get all 11 hearts. The ones outlined in gold are always filled. The row doesn't shorten, it just always has a certain number filled even after you complete a surprise.
Still no patch It's been almost a week now since the broken valentines patch and I and many others are yet to have the problem resolved, I have no romantic link in my special but there is 155 jobs available and I have filled the 150 possible. Ivan said it was getting sorted last week but clearly it isn't. It's a shame that such a great game has been ruined by lacklustre development and little to no attempt to fix it. And to top it all off there has been no update as to when it will be fixed. Sort it out please!!
I am also slightly put off by the bug fix release not coming. But maybe it's an App Store approval issue. Has it been submitted, devs?
The only thing I find aggravating is the lack of info or response from the devs. Even just a sorry we are working on it every now and again would do! As it is there are a lot of us stuck on 150/155 with land to spare, utopium coming out out ears and coins galore lol! No comms here or on fb/twitter/forums & it's getting a tad boring with nothing new to do when you know there should be..... I do love the game so hate to complain, even bought a few IAPs to support it. Please guys we know it takes time but update us please
So does that mean that my odds of getting the final Tier 4 Animal I need to complete my collection is about Spoiler 0.25% chance? If that's the case, it is going to take forever. I got my 3rd to last animal at 254 animals rescued, my 2nd to last was at 302 animals rescued, now I am at 522 animals rescued and I still need that last one. I am getting frustrated that there is no weight placed upon the animals that you don't have, in regards to the "randomness" that the game chooses to award them to you. I would gladly pay utopium per surprise just to slightly increase the odds of a NEW animal, say 1u per 0.2% better odds up to a maximum of 250u for a 50/50 chance at a new animal. I know that's pretty steep, but at this point it's probably worth it. I can't wait until animals become useful in some way.
Agreed on the 2nd point. Disagree on the 1st. How was I supposed to know I was doing something "wrong". I shouldn't have been able to restore my IAP until I had the Enterprise if this is the case and wouldn't have if I'd have know about this problem. I also further disagree that it should be bottom of the pile. By buying IAP I'm supporting the game and issues with it should be put ahead of others.
Stuck at 150/155 jobs with 2 buildings needing 3 employees I can't create because the Romantic isn't available. Is there something special I need to do to get it to show up? Guess I'll start duplicating some buildings to keep the momentum going.
I finally finished my last building (Space Admin) so I am technically done with the game until the next update. Currently, I have 155/155, 250/260 land (only used Legal Loophole once to see how it worked), 2420cps (I have three additional City Square buildings). Working on adding trees and decor, getting 50 upgrades, 100 quick surprises, and buying hearts at the Research Lab so I get those Achievements. Paid 99 cents for the production doubler and that is it. Next time there is a sale, I will do an IAP to support the developers. I have been hesitant so far as it really take the game away from the game. ** I would really love to be able to spend Utopium on moving people from my Solar Nexus buildings to something else! **
Well I have reported numerous times about how buggy the game is. Now I cannot create another disc jockey, using the formula to obtain it. In addition to the ever annoying bug of the game NOT saving the option to turn off sound effects. As well as the fact that it one adds a worker, the cps in the coins do not match the actual cps collected. (Which was supposedly an easy fix, per the dev...obviously NOT!!) Lastly, I have all the tier 3 animals but alas still no achievement for that. Thankfully this is a free "app" or they would have heard an earful from me as well as others.
Is anything supposed to happen once you've built all the structures and collected every job? I was at roughly 130/150 when I applied the update, but reached 155/155 yesterday, I'm sure I read that something happens, or am I mistaken?
This was vaguely answered by one of the developers when asked by another poster. I have added their posts below:
