Hmm, I am wrong. I forgot the 3 at
    Ninja HQ
lol, that place is really well hidden, and 2 in another building.

So, you are correct, the Total needed is actually 120 clones, and max CPS is 1780.

    Sorry for the misinformation.

Surprisingly that is a valid splicing combo. On a related note, there are only 3 jobs (2 of which you can still create) in the game that can't work in another building: Mechanic, Mayor, and Miner (because you can't duplicate the Arrival Center, Town Hall, or Utopium Mine). Makes me wonder why Miner doesn't unlock the Utopium Mine instead of Engineer. The Mayor is the only clone without an unlock combo.

Yes, the fact that there is a gulf of difference between "really no difference" and "no difference", plus you managed to fudge the cost of the land itself in utopium (convenient ;)). It's not that Shiny Towers aren't better, they are better, they're just not better enough to justify the hundreds of wasted and clueless posts about how devastated people are they can't upgrade or delete their Rocky Mansions.

Utopium cost to house 42 people in Shiny Towers is 70u
Utopium cost to house 42 people in Heavenly Houses is 77u
Utopium cost to house 42 people in Rocky Mansions is 80u.

Now, by all means, the Shiny Tower comes out on top, but only by a factor of 10u in your scenario of housing 42 clones, or less than 15% savings over the OMICRAPITSUCKS!!! "starter" housing.

No, but it does produce the most coins per "working cycle".

Well what's the full time upgrade on the building that gives you 208 cps.

    50 minutes!
    I have 8 of them :D
Those 8 buildings alone make me 4.992.000 coins every 50 minutes.

I'm thinking I done this game completely wrong :( I have 95 clones out of 150 and 150 out of 150 land filled so how should I do the next 10 land fill up? Find new clones or copies of stadium and that building with 208 coins and fully upgrade them?

I don't know what the best strategy is but i only started building duplicates after i had all buildings and clones.
    I'm making 3235 CPS now.

So do the building and then copy? What's gonna be in the update?

I didn't fudge the cost for the land in the Shiny Tower example. I just deducted it from the land needed in the Solar Nexus scenario.

    Land = 4u per space

Utopium cost to house 42 people in Shiny Towers is:

    7 Shiny Towers x 6u = 42u
    7 spaces needed x 4u = 28u
    Total = 70u

    21 Rocky Mansions x 0u = 0u
    21 spaces needed x 4u = 84u
    Total = 84u

    84u - 70u = 14u (which is what I had in my previous post - convenient ;)).

Difference 16.7% - not massive but not inconsequential. Especially since you will need much more than 7 Shiny Towers by the end (more like 3-4 times that amount). So now your talking 42-56u saved which is another land upgrade or a nice amount of decor.

In an effort to decide how to go about upgrading my buildings I just made a spreadsheet of how much cps businesses make per "working time" group, and by far the most profitable group is the 5 minute group (10 minutes with Double Time IAP)

Here is how much each group pulls in:

NOTE:Times are listed without the Double Time IAP. Values are for one of each building (a.k.a. no duplicates).

Working Time / CPS for group / Total coins per work cycle for group
    2 Minutes / 148 CPS / 17,760 coins
    3 Minutes / 72 CPS / 12,960 coins
    4 Minutes / 78 CPS / 18,720 coins
    5 Minutes / 790 CPS / 237,000 coins
    10 Minutes / 132 CPS / 79,200 coins
    15 Minutes / 46 CPS / 41,400 coins
    20 Minutes / 62 CPS / 74,400 coins
    25 Minutes / 6 CPS / 9,000 coins
    30 Minutes / 76 CPS / 136,800 coins
    45 Minutes / 32 CPS / 86,400 coins
    60 Minutes / 180 CPS / 648,000 coins
    75 Minutes / 36 CPS / 162,000 coins
    90 Minutes / 46 CPS / 248,400 coins
    120 Minutes / 76 CPS / 547,200 coins

Most people, myself included, have been saying to start upgrading the buildings with the longest working time first because they offer the best value, which they do if you only play a couple times a day. However, if we simply look at CPS for group, you'll see that you stop earning 61% of your CPS after 5 minutes (1088/1780). That is a little over half of your max income that stops working after only 5 minutes. Of course the Double Time IAP can increase this to 10 minutes, but that still means that you'll need to check your game every 10 minutes. The maximum upgrade for each building is 5x it's base time, so by putting 15u into each 5 minute building, you can make them work for 25 minutes, or 50 with the Double Time IAP. Now if you look at the stats again, you'll notice that the next best group is the 60 minute group, which would be almost double the time of our max level 5 minute group. So i propose that the best use of upgrading buildings with utopium would be by maxing out the 5 minute buildings (and eventually the 2, 3, and 4 minute ones as well) and then simply proceed to check your game twice an hour.

I have a lot more to say, but I am out of time right now. I will probably go over this a bit more tomorrow.

Thanks for the analysis. Certainly seems like upgrading City Square as soon as possible is a must.

Hey all, I'm still relatively early on in the game, since i had problems with icloud which forced me to restart the game. Just wondering how many trees you would all recommend for a decent utopium farm. currently i have 12, but it still seems to take at least 1.5-2 hours sitting watching the game to get the daily max.
    Thanks

    College/Part job
    Far far away
I got 20 and its a bit overkill but i get my max faster so its worth it. 12 seems to be an average for most people.

thks for collecting that data :)
Would you mind putting the data on a google doc and open it to everyone? (keep a local copy of course). We did that in the Pocket Planes thread (link is in my signature) and it's helpful for a lot of people.
I'd like to do some stats but I'm too lazy to put all the basic info in a sheet lol.
(or pm me if you'd like to just send me the raw data by mail).

I don't agree on upgrading the lowest working time buildings first, the exception being the city mall.
The fact is, you got to sleep lol. :D
And once you've got the 150 clones, there's not a big incentive to check every half hour! Even more once you got your 25u from trees.
So the best u value is to upgrading the biggest earners and longest working time to at least 8 hours.
I check maybe 3 times a day, and I'm still making over 40m coins a day because I upgraded the higher cps annd longer working time buildings.

The stadium is by far the best to upgrade u/coins.
    Bar is pretty good too
my rule of thumb, before doing a spreadsheet is :
take the cps, multiply it by the number of working time hours (or fraction of hours if below one hour). You'll get a number like 8 cps times 4 hours or 32 cps time one hour.
Best is stadium with 48cps times 4h= 192
    university is 20cps * 2 hours = 40
    Bar is 18 cps times 3 h= 54
    City hall is 208 *10/60= 35
good ones are between 30 to 54
    Below 25, I don't bother to upgrade.
If you want the real coins you'll get on one upgrade, multiply by 3600.

Can't seem to enable iCloud on my iPad4. It's enabled elsewhere, it just won't turn on in Pixel People. I get this error when trying to turn it on in the town hall: "error: please login your iCloud account"

I *am* logged in tho. This only happens on my iPad, my iPhone 5 works fine. Really wanna play this across devices... Any help?
