Not if they're empty. I've had a few buildings which have never been occupied, as I've put the citizen that triggered them into a different building before construction is complete.
Unoccupied buildings don't have a coin number update flash on the screen so it should be obvious which ones are empty just by scanning your town for non-producing buildings.
By the time I finished collecting all 150 people, I had more than 200 million coins saved, so I spent a few minutes one evening completing that achievement. Basically, once you get to the point where you're pulling in nearly 2000 coins per minute, it's not so hard to get those millions. The animals...yes, they'll take longer. I still have several to collect.
I know this has probably already been mentioned quite a few times, but after combining for the reporter (which takes 2 land), I got stuck without an actual building to place. Prior to the combination I was at 168 of 170 land, and I am currently at 170 out of 170 really wishing that this could be fixed.
I'll need a few days work before I can spend all my coins on heart boosting. I had less than 5M in coins at the moment I unlocked the last job and staffed every business fully. But I only have 10 trees and only 40% worth of decor, so I still need more land to finish those achievements. I'm still using coins for land (84M at the next purchase, to get to 210 land) and I'm keeping utopium for tree/decor purchases. But once I've got all my trees and decor, then the only thing left for coins is heart boosting, and the only thing to spend utopium on is upgrading businesses. Oh, and I have an empty Shiny Tower waiting for the first six clones once the next content update comes out.
Unlocked the final clone today. I was hoping to be able to go back and add more duplicate clones to max out all my buildings, but I don't seem able to splice more clones. Great sadness. Working on finishing the achievements. Very long way to go on animals, upgrades and research... I guess I will finally finish urban renewal.
If you never spliced it then its red but orange means you have so a building won't be placed. Just delete a tree or two
It showed up red, said it would cost two, and then no building appeared. It happened to me too. I eventually got the tv studio anyway, but it is only a one square building. I'm short one piece of land.
Those greyed out categories and jobs, yeah, they splice just fine. You can make all the duplicate clones you want so dry those tears.
I got the final clone on Sunday and I'm still able to create more clones. Be sure you have housing space for them, and remember, just because they're greyed out doesn't mean you can't clone them. That's how you make the duplicates you need to fill all your businesses after all.
My progress so far - 136/150 professions, 200 land, finally shifted to Shiny Towers and have 23 of those (I am also hoping to be able to delete my Solar Nexuses some day), 5 or 6 buildings left to build, generating 1528 cps (all buildings are fully staffed; I have not upgraded any buildings), and no IAP spent except the 99 cents for double production. Question - I am thinking of building another City Square. Does a duplicate building still take 18 or so hours to build or does it finish much faster? Thanks!
It's dependent on the number of clones you have so it will take as long as any other building does for you at 136/150
Well, I have finally fully staffed every building. For those wondering, it takes 215 clones to staff all unique buildings and the max CPS without duplicate buildings is 1736. Now I just need that darn Spoiler Octopus to finish my animals, and I need enough utopium to upgrade all my buildings to level 5.
I haven't read every post here, but I see quite a few people saying that there is really no difference between building Shiny Towers versus Solar Nexus and land upgrade (with the saved Utopia). I don't agree with this analysis at all. Let's use this scenario: - 7 Shiny Towers (42 people) - Costs 42u - Takes up 7 spaces versus - 7 Solar Nexus (42 people) - Costs 0u - The "saved" 42u is used to buy a land upgrade (2u left) - Takes up 21 spaces but you have added 10 spaces The second option is clearly the worse option. You have saved 2u but using up 4 more spaces than the first option (21 - 10 (upgrade) - 7 (scenario 1) = 4). Each space costs 4u (40u land expansion cost / 10 spaces), so the 2u left over is only worth 1/2 space. You lose out on about 14u in scenario 2. Am I missing something?
Are you sure you're not missing something? I have no duplicate buildings, and I have 220 clones and 1780 CPS.
I just had a very wierd Eureka message, claiming that I had just discovered the Mechanic, by combining the Spoiler Car Designer + Assistant . My counter at the top of the screen now reads 151/150! I was not doing anything in the Arrival Center at the time (although I have three clones waiting, since I had extra residence space after I finished the 150th job). Sounds like a related problem as the "Reporter bug", perhaps.
