Not sure how but this game went from "this looks fun" to "omg its so addictive". Bought some IAP too to support devs and give me better head start.
Crap, I just realize Shiny Tower gives 6 people for 1 land: you got to be kidding me, it must have not been there the last time I looked through them. -.- Great, they should let us remove/upgrade pervious houses.
This has 1) Been mentioned eleventy billion times already 2) Has already been stated by the devs as something they will patch in 3) Demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding about how well the game was balanced from the get go* * Everyone sees "ooh, 1 square = 6 clones, itz THE BESTEST!!!! I can't believe I can't upgrade/switch housing, I gots the MADS >:|", only, no, not really. Yes, Shiny Towers are indeed better than the other housing, but it's not nearly the magnitude the people screaming for this bordering on useless feature imagine. You can buy 10 squares of land for 40u forever, so 1 square of land has a fixed cost of 4u. However, to get those 6 clones on 1 sq of land, you need to spend an additional 6u, so it's a cost of 10u for 6 clones on 1 sq. You could use something like the heavenly housing, 2 sq land, +3u, for a total cost of only 11u to house those 6 clones. Then there's the much poo-pooed by the noobs Rocky Mansions (& other "starter" housing) that costs 12u per 6 clones. So, in reality, the difference is merely 1.67u -> 1.83u -> 2.0u per clone. If I were the devs, I'd implement the ability to upgrade a square of Rocky Mansion tier housing to Shiny Tower tier housing for a "mere" 8u and laugh my butts off as everybody jumped to do it even though that's *exactly* the same cost (right down to the cost to free up 10 squares of land devoted to "starter" housing costing... 40u)
Unless you've got hundreds of millions of gc to spare to continue with that method of land upgrades, I would definitely say the hearts, because that at least gives you a good chance to get utopium for land upgrades beyond the 50 M gc mark.
hmm, that can't be it either. Game 1 has kept a higher building count all throughout yet the construction timers are still shorter than Game 2 Game 1 : Game 2 Land 172 : 170 Unique Genes 104 : 133 Dupl. Genes 28 : 7 Pop. 132 : 140 Residences 42 : 38 Animals rescued 43 : 96 So it could be duplicate genes, animals or something else causing the anomaly. Game 2 doesn't have a Spoiler School of Wizardy building but Game 1 does so, it could indeed be Spoiler sorcery !
I had 36u this morning, now I have 31u... Honestly, this bs... I just have no idea. And which building allows you to reduce hearts?
Well this new version still has one bug. The one where if you add a new person to a building, the money earned is still the old count, even though the financial market building shows the correct cps. Only way I have found correct is to leave the app and then return to get the new total is then correct.
That's a minor bug. Working to get the full detailed list out. LambadaMu should be posting it. Anyway, the content patch is in now. So expect something new next week. Expect a few pretty cool features to show up next week.
Definitely upgrade hearts first! The heart bonus has a very decent chance of providing utopium back to you in +2 and +5 increments. With a maxed out heart meter (6 hearts permanently filled) it only takes 5 hearts to get the bonus. Hearts seem to pop up about every 25-30 seconds, so you can get a bonus every 2.5 minutes, or roughly 24 times an hour! Believe me, it add up fast. I was able to earn over 130u in a single day from trees, hearts, and achievements. Upgrading hearts will cost you: 10u for level 1, but you'll get an achievement worth 1u, so 9u total 20u for level 2, 29u total 30u for level 3, 69u total 40u for level 4, 109u total 50u for level 5, 159u total 60u for level 6, but you'll get an achievement worth 10u, so 209u total. Not to mention that you will probably start completing your animal pages by the time you finish upgrading, so that will earn you an additional 1-11u. After you finish upgrading the heart bar, I would recommend getting 32 pieces of 3.0 spirit decor and 2 pieces of 2.0 spirit decor. This way you can max out the Expansion and Time discounts. Max discount will cost: (4u * 32) + (2u * 2) = 132u, but you'll get 4u back from achievements, so 128u total. After you've maxed you discount percentage, start upgrading buildings. Upgrade the buildings with the longest working time first. By upgrading the buildings with a 2-4 hour work time you be getting a much better value for your utopium. Also realize that each upgrade provides diminishing returns, for example the first upgrade will DOUBLE the working time of the building or in other words add 100%. But the second upgrade will only add an additional 50%, upgrade 3 adds 33%, and the final upgrade only adds 25% to the total working time. At least that is how I have been spending my utopium. I am already done with hearts and discounts, and am now working towards upgrading my buildings.
"Fixes for Common Bugs" "Fixes for Gamecenter Issues" "Gameplay Optimizations" After loading up the update, I see that there is a new call to action to try other Chillingo games in a little bubble on the bottom right replacing the blue bar on top. Other than that, I don't see anything visually different.
Have you unlocked the Police Station? If so, access achievements from it and tap on the Game Center icon to sign it. After that, Tap on Refresh.
I think the best use of utopium is speeding up building construction times when it gets near the 1day mark. The bottleneck in late game becomes the clones that unlock buildings. Even if you can afford the land to lay those buildings down, if your arrival center is full with those types of clones you have to wait a day for them to complete before you can unlock more genes. But you can instantly complete them for 4u each which lets you steadily unlock a new gene roughly every 20mins or so. The coins are useless once you have all the land you need so the utopium you invest in building upgrades have diminishing returns past a certain point. Well, you can spend them to fill your heart meter at 2m a pop and hope to get some utopium rewards but otherwise, as TRB4 illustrated reducing hearts is the way to go. It's the gift that keeps on giving!
One thing the update has added is adverts on the opening screen. Seems to be fairly unobtrusive though, and just a replacement for the See Other Games by Chillingo link. I also had to restore purchases after upgrading. Think that's related but couldn't say for sure. I did reinstall a few days ago but 90% sure I restored purchases then too.
