It's crazy because land isn't even what's slowing me down at the moment. I'm about 130/150 but these last few businesses take over a day to make now. I actually really like how the max time remover for anything is 4u, but I've always been stingy about using premium currency to remove time. So now it's just a waiting game.
I wonder how or if they will update this game. I mean, say they doubled the amount of people you can create to 300. Would the difficulty be lessened? Or would we get to the point where we are waiting a week to build 1 building.
Ok thanks xbtron. I'll just keep an eye out for it then I guess! I'm 40 jobs in and 100 size but no sign of it yet!
One more job to go! Well one more that I already have first, then the last one. I guess it will be wait for an update at that point? I will collect coins and all, just not at the frenetic pace i have been I suppose.
Ok I got the dreamer. Is it definitely random? I got it after building the research centre and then getting it to do some research. After I did the next time I went into splice someone I got them. If I hadn't have thought it was random I would have thought this caused it......
Well, don't forget that the game's been available for just a week now and I think we are advancing at a faster pace than in "similar idea games" such as Tiny Tower and Pocket Planes. I remember investing a ludicruous amount of time in those and didn't get as far with those as with Pixel People. I just bought the double-time IAP and of course I'd like more free utopium, but I don't think I'm advancing too slowly. The problem I see is the grind feeling I have when I've run out of houses, land and money, and I have to grind for a day or two to expand the land again. Devs could at least allow the church donations to be utopium or money, even if it were a lot of coins per land slot. But anyway, it's their game, and I'm enjoying it a lot even with its faulties.
Yeah it's random. My first time I played it was the first special group I got, and I didn't have the research centre at the time. This time I haven't received it yet. I got two others so far.
So now that the Level Up costs are INSANE (my last one was 29.8mil) the game is starting to lose its luster for me. Updates MUST address land costs or give us more land for each level we achieve instead of just 10. The game has become a grind of just tap, tap, tap.
Ok, I built a hospital at level 15 on my iPhone, it said completion time ~6hrs. Now I build a hospital at level 15 on my iPad, it says completion time 1d 2h 40m. What sorcery is this?? Other buildings too are taking over a day now on the iPad and only half a day on the iPhone. One's using iCloud and one is local. One had about 15 more genes unlocked. Both have the same amount of decor, 50 spirit. So what is causing such a large difference in completion timers?
You probably encountered the Reporter bug. Right now, splicing the reporter takes 1 land, but *i think* it doesn't drop the building. We've fixed it. A patch will be out soon.
Yea don't get me wrong! I also feel that the pace of the game is pretty great. I don't think land expansions are toooo bad. With a little min-maxing the cost aren't horrible. Not great, but not horrible. And the amount of utopium we can get a day is nothing to complain about. It's just the "so close yet so far" feeling that I'm having, and it sucks that I'm waiting a day for a building to build in order to progress haha
Is there any way to export a detailed pic of our city? Either via mail or dropbox maybe? For now, I can only think of screenshot-ing bits and pieces... Would be a huge incentive to build awesome cities that doesn't only exist on your phone/touch/pad.
New profession and building: Surveyor. Photographer + Spoiler Aerospace Engineer, or Astronaut or whatever. And the building would have an activated function to save a wide, aerial view of your town to the photos. Doesn't have to be big, just limited to the size of the grid around the currently available land on the background of our choice. How is that for a suggestion?
Woot. You took my request and turned it into a doable feature! Let's hope the devs see this. As for the size, the current max zoom in is great enough! EDIT: Sorry, not max zoom. 1st level zoom is great enough.
Once I get to the point of being through with spending coins on expansions (don't have the patience to wait any more) is there any reason not to buy a whole bunch of expansions at once with my utopium? I have enough to buy 3 40u expansions. Should I do them gradually and only expand when I run out of space? I guess it'd be smart to save at least some u for building upgrades and speed ups...
Building suggestion: Clock tower. So we can see what time it is without leaving the app. Also encountered something weird that may or may not be related to Pixel People: Had a preset alarm go off while I was playing that I couldn't turn off. Actually had to power off my phone. Will see if I can replicate it.
I believe it's the number of physical buildings you have. It has nothing to do with level, or else people who start with the "get free 500,000 coins, buy several levels of land" approach would have incredibly long building times from the very start. Likewise, it has nothing to do with the TYPE of building. If you try and build another Bank near end-game it'll still take two days (without time discount) to build, just like a newer "advanced" building would. Not sure if DUPLICATE jobs / buildings add to the timer increase, or just the number of UNIQUE ones you have.
I've got 106/150 people with 7 Shiny Towers currently building. Land is 150/150. 33.4M to upgrade. 566 CPS. 44 Animals rescued. At this rate, I should reach 150 sometime in the next 2-3 days as I switch to Utopium for land upgrades. The end is near! I am not sure how the ending works but I am planning, if possible, to continue to rack up coins in preparation for the eventual addition of new people in a future update.
Does anyone know how to get the "Gene-ius" achievement? I think i built too many Rocky Mansions. at 150 Land now but only got 98 Jobs so far. I was thinking I could remove them for better housing ... Hope that will be added in an update or I'll have to start over. Grinding for new land gets a bit too much...
Is the shiny tower the best residental building? If so then I am disappointed as I was expecting skyscrapers and luxury mansions as high level residental buildings.
