What can we do? Following this logic, what are some IAP ideas for PP? additional clone slot auto-tree bubble popper (ala Plague Inc.) cash reward doubler (ala all those endless runners) what else? I know I would pay another buck for an auto-popper...
I only had to remove it from background (ie double tap home button, hold icon, tap minus) to fix it, rather than a full 'force close'. Thanks all.
An IAP that Auto-collected trees would be incredible, but I would worry that it would skew the game towards building ridiculous tree farms (like 100 trees) that people would just leave running while on a charger. Considering that each tree produces either 10 coins, 100 coins, 1000 coins, 1u, 2u or 3u every couple of minutes, I could see people making more CPS and utopium with a tree collector IAP and lots of trees than with businesses. Not to mention the fact that with an auto tree collector all trees have essentially an infinite "working time" and never need to be tapped. It would completely negate the need for businesses. An additional clone slot is a wonderful idea though. It doesn't destroy game play, it isn't required, and it would simply make the game play "faster" for those who don't want to wait for a slot to open up. Great idea! There is the possibility of having a Double Coin type IAP, but the bank already does that for free (on fully staffed buildings). Granted that a Double Coin IAP coupled with a Bank would quadruple a buildings CPS, but that much money that quickly might make the game move "too quickly". I am only at 116 jobs and I already have a total of 1072 CPS, if my CPS was 2144 right now, I think that coins would become trivial much too quickly. I like the idea of a Power Plant building with an IAP that after you purchased it would allow the Power Plant to start all buildings that have stopped working at the same time. However I believe that this is something that should have a 1 hour cool down timer, otherwise it would be abused. Another idea would be an IAP that made collecting hearts a single click, like collecting trees, no more opening the home and hooooooolding the heart. Just tap it on the house and it goes to your bar. Those the ideas that come to mind right now.
By the way, how is the new town coming along? Must take a lot of patience. But I guarantee that when you do get to the Shiny Tower (and wait 12 hours to build them) that the game will then move extremely quickly for a while, with your 50% Time Discount and not having to worry about land.
I'm confused by the options for creating homes. I just started but there are 3 to choose from, and the ratio of land used and people living there is the same for all 3. Is there an advantage to the more expensive homes? Example, 1 takes up a single land and holds 2 people, the next takes up 2 lands and hold 4, but costs more than double the first. It feels like it's the opposite of logic. What's the advantage to the larger home? Also, if more types of homes become available with better ratios in the future, can I demolish these and rebuild without losing the people inside? Or upgrade the building to the better ratio?
Here's the deal, the when it comes to the first 3 home options there is NO reason to buy the 2nd or the 3rd, as you stated they are a waste of money and offer no additional value. However, the next set of homes offer a better people to land ratio, and at first glance the 5th home looks like the better value, but as someone else pointed out, it is a much better value to buy 1 of the 1st home + 1 of the 4th home, instead of buying the 5th home. By far the best home in the game is the 6th home hands down, but it takes quite a while to unlock it. The unfortunate truth is that NO, you CAN NOT demolish old homes and replace them with better ones later. A lot of people used way too much land on the 1st homes early in the game before realizing that better housing would be available later. So you really need to plan ahead when it comes to buying homes. If you want to read my guide for how to completely maximize your value when it comes to homes please see this post http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2662302&postcount=658 Although I have to warn you, that method will completely suck the fun out of the game for a few days while you patiently and diligently work towards the ultimate goal.
Wow, you are incredibly informative. I have one last question on the matter and then hopefully will go learn on my own! Can you run out of land to a point where you can't upgrade anymore? You say a lot of people wasted a lot of space on homes early on, but the space never actually maxes out does it? I am quite new to this forum but is there a way for me to offer kudos for all your help? Lol
Land will never actually "run out", but the cost to buy more land increases exponentially, and very quickly. My next land purchase is going to cost 50,000,000c and that's with a 50% discount, player's who don't invest in Decor would need to 980,000,000 at this point (you start with a 2% discount). So when I say that they "wasted" land what I really mean is that they didn't get the maximum "value" of their land. As for kudos, I don't know if Touch Arcade does that, I am a new user too, I signed up less than a week ago. I am glad that I can help others.
Having a blast playing but also ran into a situation where I spent land on houses and upgrades not needed, but rather than restarting or min/max I choose to look at it, it's my Utopia it maybe small and awkward with too many parks but its home. Great job LamdaMu
Must.not.kill.self... Here is the latest, I haven't been able to "play" as much as possible (kids). Here is what I have to say about this type of play....it.is.insanely.boring. I recommend doing a benefit analysis to determine if the value proposition is there for this style of play. I'm going to do it because I started and I really want to see the benefits, but i can't guarantee that I won't pop out a house or two to inject a little more "fun" into this system.
Well, at least you can take comfort in the fact that your Utopia-building endeavors are insanely fun to read!
So I don't know if its the way I'm playing, or the fact that iCloud is off or what, but about 90% of the time when I go into the game it gives me a new clone pack with the mechanic in it. Also; leveled up again.
3 questions 1) Dreamer, Explorer, Salesman: Any rhyme or reason as to when they come? Is it by level or by population count or by land count? 2) Every 10 land can give you 2 City Squares and 2 Shiny Towers or an extra 416 CPS. Is it worthwhile to build 10 City Squares and add 2000+ CPS or does the extra cost of the 50 land dwarf the benefits of the City Squares and is this a fool's errand trying to play catch up? 3) Working on TRB4's 13 step plan. I am at 45 U, 80 land, and 10 population. I actually didn't add housing until I had Atomic Cottages, and instead of adding Two rocky Mansions, I added 1 Rocky Mansion and 1 Atomic Cottage - a little bit more efficient. Question 3: What do you think about getting to the research lab earlier so you can collect U earlier on in the process? btw, you can get to a fully staffed City Square in 48 population and still build the essential buildings (build these in this order): Spoiler Mayor, Mechanic, Engineer, Architect, Landscaper, Assistant Plumber**, Sheriff, Park Ranger, Deputy, Secretary Mech Engineer, Constr. Worker, Janitor**, Philosopher, Scientist Mathematician, Accountant, Police Officer, Gardener, Farmer Homemaker, Nurse, Doctor, Vet, Botanist, Zoologist Fishmonger, Cook, Baker**, Writer, Poet, Librarian Historian, Watchmaker**, Animal Trainer, Milkmonger, Shepherd Carpenter**, Artist, Photographer, Paramedic, Athlete, Olympic Swimmer Lifeguard, Model, Tailor**, Industrialist, Programmer, Real Estate Agent ** = City Square workers Google IGN Pixel People to get the specific combos if you want. After this, you can build City Squares every 6 population or every 10 land as per above (use the real estate agent and empty space to "Build" and then pick your building for duplicates)
Game Center achievements I was browsing the list of achievements in Game Center, and three of them had me puzzled. Is there a feature I haven't unlocked yet that allows you to share formulae for the Social Experiment and Social Butterfly achievements? I have seen no discussion about sharing within this thread. Also, the Ignorance Is Bliss achievement is awarded when you "give the folks at the news agency some time off". How do you do that?
To get the Facebook ones, just open the jobs pages by tapping the top center of the screen, then tap on any job and in the top left corner of the job card is a Facebook icon, simply tap that and share the combo on Facebook. Do that 10 times. To turn off the news ticker you need to first build a News Agency, the option to turn off the feed is in that building.
Ah, thanks. I don't have a Facebook account (and never want to get one), so I never saw that. I suppose I won't get to complete all the achievements...
