Thanks for the tips on the decor. I hadn't considered that. I have 6.5% discount now. I was thinking about selling them to free up land for new buildings. That's a good idea to buy up a bunch just before buying expansion, but you need free land for that as well, right? I also hadn't considered the decor that is bought with U in a long time, since U was my limiting factor to buy housing at one point, and now I'm at a point where I have more U to spend.
I have no idea how people are getting so much uptopium. I'm lucky to get 3 a day out of my 11 trees. I haven't planted any more because it just doesn't seem to yield much.
Do not buy decor!! The decor discounts are absolutely the worst thing that you can possibly put in your city. The math is all wrong. Let's say you build 10 of the 3-spirit decorations to get a discount of 30% on expansion. First of all, consider that you've used up 10 plots of land, which puts you behind by a full expansion level. Secondly, you've spent 40u for these decorations, which would buy another complete expansion level at the Law Office. So you're essentially two levels behind the player who didn't buy any discounts at all. With the way that the expansion costs double each level, your 30% discount will not even allow you to recoup ONE of these levels, let alone two. The decorations are nothing more than just a horrible, nasty waste of space and Utonium. Sure, they also slightly speed your wait times for new stuff, but that's not the roadblock in this game. The roadblock is available land, and the decorations simply cannot pay for the space they consume. The developers really need to look more closely at the math here....
I managed to finally unlock all 150 and surprisingly it has an "ending". But Im still unsure about what happens next. Can't wait to get your take on it since your so close to unlocking everything.
The Enterprise building gives you the IAP for that. Also, the observatory lets you change the background/space scene.
@ Estrica, xbtran, toxiccheese Thanks for the answers, y'all. @ LambdaMu Can you consider a map editor feature? I want convenience to build and move buildings and other constructions.
Has anyone had trouble getting the achievements to show up in Game Center? I've tried using both a wifi and a cellular connection and no dice. Kind of disappointing to have them pop up and then not show :/ EDIT: Nevermind. Found out how.
I tend to make 20-30 utopium a day. I get around 10-15 from trees and another 10-15 from collecting hearts. I enjoy getting the heart bonuses so much that I have even spent 100u at the Research Lab to lower my hearts needed to 7. I find that the heart bonus is a steady, limitless, and relatively quick source of both coins and utopium, I also only need 11 more animals total. I plan on spending another 110u to lower my needed hearts down to 5 (the max upgrade) in order to gain utopium even quicker. By the way, I have 8 trees and they seem to drop utopium pretty regularly, you just have to make sure that you keep an eye on them and tap them as soon as they have an icon, as the icon will quickly disappear if you don't. This is the strategy that I use: I have placed all of my houses in a group and all my trees in a group and made sure that they are next to each other. I also made sure that I could see all of them on the screen at the same time. Then I just patiently wait and click any icons that pop-up and I quickly collect coins, utopium, and hearts without having to scroll all over the place. I also placed all of my shortest working time buildings near by in order to remind me to check my businesses. It is very efficient if you have the patience to play for long bursts. Here is a screenshot of my tree/heart farm, the red area is where I get hearts, the blue area is where I harvest trees, and the yellow are is my businesses with a 4 minute work time (2 minutes without Double Time IAP).
Actually I organized my city the same way except the organizing by working time length (but trees and homes are visible all at once for me too). I separated the ones that have special functionalities from the rest and the remaining buildings are organized by size. Hearts are really great, got 3x5 utopiums from them today, and also around 10-12 from the trees.
I'm trying to figure out something here, I believe that the City Square, fully staffed, is one of the best producers of the game, isn't it? Right now at level 2, occupancy of 6 I'm getting a production multiplier of 8x2 with a 20m working time and it's producing 208cps. That seems higher than almost anything else, no? Is it the working time that's a detriment to this one? I do see the university has a 4 hour working time, but is producing only 6cps with 2/3 slots filled. Will that increase that much?
Exactly. I've already built a frw, but I'm considering deleting them to free up land. The time saved on building is just not worth it.
That's really tempting. I've been thinking about reorganizing my city, but I like the way it looks right now and I'm not sure if I want to go to the effort. Your way makes a lot of sense though. I'm definitely struggling with earning more Utopium... it hasn't been coming up very frequently as a heart bonus, but the trees have been decent about providing it. Currently at 480cps with 45 more clones to unlock, 149/150 land. Patience is the hardest thing about the later stages of this game.
Yep, but as mentioned a few pages back, if you're not playing for that 4 hours, the University actually gives you slightly MORE coins before it runs dry than the 20 minutes of City Square activity will. Obviously, if you can log on every half-hour or so, the City Square will bring in the coins. But overnight, the University can give you consistent (if not as impressive per second) revenue.
Actually, there's a really easy fix for it : Exempt decor from land tax. Trees generate utopium, so there's a cost/benefit to their existence, but Decor should be exempt, that would then open up using decor as a valid option for city beautification and to soften the coin wall. In addition to this I'd also increase the "cap" for discounts to 75% from 50%, again, it softens the coin wall, and between this and exempting decor from land tax, would then open up a valid option to spend utopium in this manner.
I am going to give a breakdown of 3 different buildings in an attempt to determine which one is "best" *These numbers are assuming that you have both a bank and the Double Time IAP* Building / CPS / Work Time / Full Staff / Land Needed City Square - 208 CPS - 10 Minutes - 6 workers - 4 land University - 20 CPS - 2 Hours - 3 workers - 3 land Tavern - 72 CPS - 10 Minutes - 5 workers - 1 land Now as you can see there are pros and cons to each example in this list, and I am going to demonstrate this by calculating different categories. 1) CPS per land space City Square: 208/4 = 52 University: 20/3 = 6.66 Tavern: 72/1 = 72 Winner: Tavern 2) Total coins per tap City Square: 208*600 = 124800 University: 20*7200 = 144000 Tavern: 72*600 = 43200 Winner: University 3)Average coins per worker City Square: 208/6 = 34.66 University: 20/3 = 6.66 Tavern: 72/5 = 14.4 Winner: City Square As you can see, depending on your play style (set and forget/actively play), how important land space is to you (including housing for workers), and how much utopium you spend on housing for workers, each building is better at something. If you play constantly for long periods of time and want to conserve land then the Tavern is probably the best choice. If you only check on your town every so often then the University is probably a better choice for you. If land isn't an issue, but spending utopium for housing is, then the City Square will earn you the most CPS per worker.
