How often does Santa come? I've only seen him twice (once on iPad, once on iPhone). The first time he dropped a reindeer. The second time money. Is there any other way to get reindeer?
At least you got a Santa. Been playing it to 1+ hr! nada. And looks like the reindeer are spliced animals based on their location.
I got a reindeer by visiting a friend and playing the wack-a-grump game in their town. I've only seen Santa once this morning and he dropped a decor statue.
If that is the only way to get these items is by having a Facebook account, I will drop this game in a heartbeat. I am not alone in the fact that one shouldn't have a Facebook account to get rewards. So when will the game account friends be done??
The game still crashes about 50-60% of the time I try to visit another city (or return from it). I can't even play the reindeer game or collect the daily gift, because my friend's city is missing when I visit. All I see is the background image. And there is no way to re-center the city because the home icon is re-purposed from "return to town hall" to "return to your own city". This is on a 4G iPod Touch. I have a second game on a iPad 3, and it seems to work better. I guess this game is no longer suitable for "obsolete" devices.

This. So in order to progress, I either have to make a facebook account or pay five bucks. Both options suck. So many other games have their own built in friend systems that don't use fb or even Game Center. Here I was all excited that I finally managed to get ahead of the game, build up a ton of land and clones...just waiting for the next update...and now I can't do anything other than make the event center. If I absolutely have to pay the five bucks...I guess I will but it sucks hardcore doing it that way. Not to mention all the other stuff those without fb miss out on.
Came to the board to post the same exact sentiment. Was thrilled to see new Xmas content, but once it clicked that $4.99 was needed or FBing, the interest faded as quickly as it came. They're allowed to charge for new content. But for me this is a brick wall.
I would have to concur with you on this. And still no update when Game Center friends might be implemented. Also have played offline for 4+ hrs and no Santa. Guess that also requires Facebook as well. Will wait for Ivan's response but do far this update will break the backs of the non-FB crowd for sure. Nor should one have to pay $5 to get 10 jobs for the mission either.
If you're not connected, you can get reindeer from Santa which appears every few minutes. BUYING/FACEBOOK is NOT necessary.
Once it appears, you'll have to wait 4 hours for the next cool down. Santa has a chance to appear from the 2 minute mark onwards. He will fly by 3 times and disappear. Just to re-enforce this,if you're offline, Santa is guaranteed to give you a reindeer. If you're online, Santa will give you a pool of other goodies and a small chance to get a reindeer. So, if you're online, your main way of getting a reindeer will be via Friends. This decision was made SPECIFICALLY for people who were playing offline.
Well for me it did take 7 hrs before Santa appeared while offline. Don't think I missed it the first time but could been a possibility. So if I read you correctly, if Santa showed up at 1200, the next time will be between 1600 and 2000, using military time. Or will it be any time after 1600?? Also noticed the petrified forest has no snow on it. Oops or by design?
It would have to be the one on the middle row, far right to be blitzen, since I did get a dancer and it took the top row, far right spot. Of course, there still could be the possibility that one might need 2 dancers and no blitzens!!
I have played offline for a couple of hours now, and am yet to see a Santa. I am also disappointed as I am a Facebook user, but just like ExpGears my game crashes every time I open the telephone company. It has crashed from the first day Facebook capability was put into Pixel People. It is SO frustrating, and looks like this reindeer chase is going to be ridiculously impossible in its current format for those of us who can't access the Facebook feature.
Have you contacted our support? We really need help with diagnosing this cases. Till date we have not a single repro case on this and people have not been helping us with our diagnostic process!
Sadly, the next one I got was dancer again and is shown differently than the previous dancer. And this one went to the middle row, far right for the mission as well. And if one goes to the animal screen, they both are listed as dancer. Just thought I post that info so it can be resolved in the next update.
