This is honestly a game with infinite expandability, when you get right down to it. All you need to do is add one gene type into the game and make it auto-unlock like Dreamer, and that can easily branch off to another 100 gene types and applicable buildings.

For instance, if the game's still running strong around Halloween, you introduce a Zombie gene to give a whole subset of "undead" clones to work with.

    ====================

And seriously? The cost to go from 140 Land to 150 Land is a base 20 Million coins?!? The pricing is starting to get a little ludicrous. I fear the 150 to 160 jump will probably be 40 Million at this point. Looks like the 40 Utonium method WILL be the only way to get more land ...

Has anyone encountered an issue where you have a piece of land that you cannot get rid of? When I first checked in this morning, I found that I had 109/110 land available, despite having 110/110 when I left it last night. When I looked around to try and see which building disappeared, I saw this piece of land with a path on it that wasn't there when I logged out.

Now, as far as I am aware of, there are no buildings actually missing, but try as I might, I cannot get rid of that path. Each time I try to select it, the selection is (for lack of a better word) 'deflected' to the adjacent tile. Is this a one-off case where I'm the only one to encounter this bug thus far, or has anyone else experienced something similar?

Also, I have tried turning off iCloud, and even had the app restart, but that hasn't done anything. Any suggestions?

Same here, I don't see a paywall but I begin to see a timewall though. So the frantic pace of the beginning has ended and I just check a few times a day.

We should talk strategy in here too, there has been a few good posts here already :)
I've played a bit, 110/120 right now and 50+ jobs.
    Some beginner's tips: :D

The strategy is more about optimization I guess.
At one point, when you discover the bank, stop rushing for new genes discover and start to look at the buildings and their income in the stats page.
Some buildings are better than other, have a multiplier, and/or have jobs that give you 2cps, or just last longer.
These high earner buildings should be fully staffed in priority to get the double coins bonus from the bank.
So try to create the workers you need to get money faster first instead of pure randomness. You can have more than one of each job.

Also it's easier to play imho if you regroup the businesses together depending on their working time.

try to use roads/water to split the groups.
In the beginning, build some trees.
When the price of expansion begins to be high, build some decorations too.

I'd say it's a lot more about doing what you enjoy. I'm at 130 land, about to expand to 140, have 85/150 jobs and I have done nothing to intentionally min-max bupkiss.

From all appearances, the game has been designed to inherently reward people building a fun/pretty/interesting city their way from the beginning (e.g. the way forests and decorations feed into a later game expansion loop) and to even potentially thwart those putting a lot of effort into "factory farming".

There is, as the doom and gloom crowd has made clear, zero point to any of this beyond the enjoyment you do or don't get from building the city, so you may as well build it the way you'd *like* it to be built, not according to some efficiency formula from a spread sheet.

lol, are you the same C.Hannum I read long detailed posts in the Hunters 2 thread! ;) Are you on gamer's vacation here :D

Sure thing, of course I agree that everibody should play as they enjoy the most. And there's no real point in optimization other than getting cash a bit faster.
I guess I play as I usually play other games, trying to maximise my time/efficiency.
I just was surprised it took me a a few hours to notice the coins coming from the buildings wasn't always the same formula, it's not very clear in the beginning.
But it's true you'll make money whichever way you play.

Anyone run into a problem where the town you were building suddenly disappears? All I see are stars that are twinkling at me. When I click on it, I see a Return to Town Center question, but upon answering it, nothing happens.

Not sure what happened to my game....Sux:mad:

that's the paywall. it's how most of these games work. you get into it, and then wait times go up to a point where you're not constantly doing/seeing/getting new things, and you drop a few bucks on the second currency type to speed up the process.

at least the secondary currency is available somewhat regularly in the game itself, and not limited to IAP. i also have to say that this game seems to intentionally hold off on that ramp-up for longer than most other games in this genre. i was worried at first, but people were talking about how it's so fun and awesome, and for a long time, i thought 'jeez, what's the point of even having IAP with how fast this game moves'.

however, i'm at the point where just to build a house, it takes about 24 hours. and since i can't get more clones till houses are built, there's little reason to check in that much while the houses are going up. and at this point, i'm scanning back and forth and tapping icons that pop up.

this game burns bright for a good amount of time, and i'm still enjoying it enough to play it a bit here and there, but i can see how people would get burned out quickly. it just doesn't have the staying power of tiny tower...or the rhyming power either, i guess.

Had anyone figured out how to move people around to different houses, so I can demolish/delete the ones that take up too much land?

I'm not sure you know what a wall is :)

When there is a pay wall, you simply don't get the content in any reasonable time frame at all. You see a shiny deco item, or a badass character, or a weapon sharp enough to split a hair on the back of a charging bull from a mile away and... oh, you can pay money or play daily for the next 17 years (or, perhaps even sign up for a $250 contract with some service). *That* is a pay wall.

"Paying" vs waiting is a standard element of a lot of games, even those that have no actual cash involved. This game doesn't even have a pay bump. It may slow down past *your* particular patience level at some point, but that's an entirely different matter.

I've restarted, with the goal of rapidly getting to 60 land to unlock better building options, and avoiding more than say 4 of the smaller residences. However, even at 60 (32/60) land the new developments have not unlocked!

Does anyone know what else you have to do?!
    - is it 60 land CONSUMED?
    - is there a building required as well that we've missed because most have it by 60?
    - etc

Can anyone tell me what does this option do if you spend the 40u on it? I spent my utomiums on the love meter (have hearts auto-filled) and don't have enough utomiums to buy it... :(

It's just another way to expand your land. Instead if paying credits, you can use your Utonium.

We have been PM-ing Mayors facing technical difficulties as opposed to re-posting solutions on this information exchange board. Utopia Corp. regrets overlooking your post.

If your city disappears, but preserves all your stats, wait for the hearts to start flashing, and tap the flashing hearts bar.

Ugh.. I just spent 30 ironing on research to reduce hearts needed for special delivery, but it's broken. Still requires 12.

    Edit: Nevermind.

Still wondering if you can delete apartments and houses and move the people out to better ones and save on space? Has anyone found out a way of doing this?
