For those unable to play the game, I did the following that allowed me back into my game: 1). Hard reset/restart my device (hold home and power button down until Apple logo). 2). Once back to your homescreen; launch Pixel People and tap the screen when you're at the title screen, play the tutorial all the way thru. 3). Once you've completed the tutorial, sign into Facebook by tapping on the sign in button in the lower left corner. 4). Once signed in, your data will sync back up and you're back in business! One thing I noticed it's a few play sessions behind on the data, so won't be playing the exact same one you last played...but honestly not too far from it. One other I've had to do is not kill the app completely and keep it running in the multitasking tray...at least until they resolve their issues.
So what went wrong, didn't anticipate on the increase of users? Or did the whole thing became to 'heavy'? I also saw the ads on the TA's frontpage. Not much has changed here, still stuck on the loading screen. The Chillingo-ads work fine btw.
With one patch out on the express lane, I wonder if the next patch will reach us just as quickly. I had a dev account so I know each developer only had one chance at an expedited update release per year. As far as I know, if you are already playing online, as long as you don't log out via Townhall, you have good chances of continuing to play the game without getting stuck at the loading screen.
What the... Nearly all buildings now suddenly cost 20u to build! No coin cost anymore? Is this for real?
It is a shame that golden hearts do so little. It is a very difficult thing to achieve on a large scale. Seems the payoff should be better.
Wow I never noticed. IMO its a smart change. It makes you think about whether its worth it or not. It was silly how easy it was to raise CPS before.
damn, didn't know about this! would have built extra buildings before updating just to generate coins. i kept my game free of duplicates and didn't really gamble at the casino because i wanted to save coins for this update.
Small error: Spoiler Narwhal is listed under Mythical animals. Gummy bears are too, and, thankfully, they are also real, though I guess they may be mythically animated in the Utopialand, so mythical may be appropriate in that case. Also, this has probably been discussed, but is there a way to end the annoying query about the telephone company that launches every time you turn on the game, for those of us that are choosing not to connect with facebook?
Hm. Has anyone else tried this and had it work? I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't want to lose my city. Like, REALLY. Maybe I should manually back up my phone first?
I can reliably (100%) crash the game by clicking on the 3rd job in the lumber mill. Instead of opening the job description screen, I get kicked out to my iphone home screen (Pixel People is still running in the background) *iPhone 5 *fully updated iOS 6.1.4, no jailbreaks etc *still occurs after phone + app restart
I don't understand why the servers apparently won't let some of us play but will let others. This is childish, but I am finding waiting for a fix more difficult because I know that others are happily playing away.
I don't understand why server load makes it impossible to play after I have turned OFF the online mode.
It worked for me multiple times. I noticed once I've got back into my game and as long as I don't kill the game completely...I can get back in easily. But if I was to kill the app from running; I'd have to go thru my steps again. Now if after restarting doesn't help, I've had to delete my app and then launch and play thru the tutorial and then sign into FB sync to get my game back.
Campsite? Hi, newbie here. I've been browsing the forum hoping someone had insight, but I didn't find anything. At the Pixel People wiki, they list campsite as a possible job location for Park Ranger and Mascot, but I didn't get that option when I spliced a new Park Ranger. Anyone else see this, or know how to get it? I've unlocked all the new jobs, including the secret ones. Still waiting on a dragon to finish my secret animal splicing, but otherwise I'm up to date. Am I missing something?
I'm right there with you. Doesn't seem fair! I've missed at least two days of free casino spins, animal shelter animals, etc. along with coin production, tree utopian, etc. That's not even including anything I might have gotten from the new features, which I'm not sure are working for anyone. We waited so long for an update and now it's not even playable! About a month ago, I actually deleted the game and started over, just because I wanted to play. I still had catching up to do when the update was released, so now I'm really behind. It's very frustrating!!
Hey waddya know! I'm back in business! The method mentioned by Bankai44 sort of worked, but I did something differently. <DISCLAIMER: BACK UP YOUR GAME MANUALLY FIRST (Lambdamu has some instructions on how to effectively extract your save file)> 1. Delete game 2. Reinstall game 3. Play through the tutorial 4. Sign in either via the blue icon or in town hall 5. VIOLA Things to note though, this would only work if you have a working save on the server (I mean, duh!). And also, DO NOT SIGN OUT VIA TOWNHALL or you will get stuck at the loading screen again. Seems like currently its an online only game with grave consequences if you log out LOL. Oh and the following is my assumption only, if after successfully signing in and you are still booted to a city fresh start instead of your old city, 1. Stay logged in 2. Complete the tutorial 3. Close game 4. Use Lambdamu's instructions to plug back in your save file (you did pull it out previously right?) 5. Start the Game from Homescreen 6. Hit the Red Button (I think this will load your local save file and cancel the connection) 7. Play the game for like, 5-10 minutes, make sure you earn/spend some utopiums or a lot of coins 8. Hit reconnect (the red button while in game) 9. VIOLA!!
Yep, deleting the game and the rest of those steps I've actually mentioned over on my forum to my members. I just didn't want to mention that hear and have all these crazies yell at me for loosing their game data (though it wouldn't be lost since its backed up).
