My coins went over this limit (2147m with rough estimates activated) yesterday after I forgot to buy some casino-spins (10m each). But after my first spin my coins went to 2144m, which surprised me. Could it be that the only the displayed amount is limited? So that your actual amount of coins could be higher than this apparant limit? It's not really a big problem, but I usually spend my coins when I get to 2100m, and then reduce it to about 1950m depending on how 'lucky' I am at the casino. Still, would be nice if it didn't matter if I went over the limit like I did the other day.
Wow, that's totally strange. It'd be one thing if it was a matter of degrees, but I have just never received anything but animals, and it sounds like you have not only had exceptions, but regularly get non-animals with all gold heart strings. Maybe that will change for me once I buy the last two levels of research to reduce the number of hearts to be filled to 4? --------------------------- Ivan, any chance you would be willing to shed more light on the gold heart dimension of the game? To me, it seems like it's now designed to favor the replacement of missing or depleted animals for missions, but cofunguy's results really confound that. --------------------------- Also, in my experience, the issue of locking animals into missions works flawlessly, but the bookend to it - the ability to flush unlocked animals from those missions, only works very rarely. Generally, if you lock all animals you want in a mission and then leave the MC and return, you will find the same unlocked animals in the same slots, even when there are hundreds of other suitable replacements.
New GC achievements not synching Great update, just love all the careful fine-tuning that went into this patch. Just want to echo again a bug. The new achievements are not synching to Game Center. I have tried everything including 'refreshing' multiple times. Would be great if it could be fixed.
Guess its time I should probably confirm what the Golden Hearts do. We were trying to squeeze that into the Patch Notes, but had some difficulties. Anyway, the Golden Hearts system should be thought of as our Ex Machina for any unforeseen gaps in our game balances. The way it works is this: Golden Hearts will ALWAYS benefit the player so, arranging your couples to maximize the spawn chance of golden hearts is ALWAYS beneficial. But what benefits do they give? Well, it depends on what's lacking in the game currently. So for example, we currently have a gap in the ability for players to complete missions. Because of the absurdly low chance for a specific animal, most people were stuck with the "I need a DODO!!" or "I need a BAT!!" kind of situations. So, we made it so that having ALL golden hearts in the package results in a new animal or, if all animals have been discovered, an animal that has been depleted. This benefit will change in the near future, we have a solution in the works that makes the current benefit for Golden Hearts obsolete. In it's place, we'll put in another benefit. PS: the fact that you can respawn the location of the hearts by going into the building and exiting the building is a known BUG and will be addressed someday.
Much thanks to TRB4 for helping me get the Lumberjack, I've been trying for weeks using wiki and other sources but couldn't find him. I finally got it, joy
It's your level. 100u can be exchanged for 300,000,000 coins, I think from level 28 on though I could be off on which level.
OK, cool, thank you Ivan. A lot of that is more-or-less what we thought based on observations. So, I'm wondering if cofunguy is getting more coins and utopium with all gold heart strings because he/she had lots of animals and was low in those resources? I can't think of a time I ever got coins or u with all gold hearts, even if I had very low utopium and little cash. So, the ability to ensure a gold heart by shifting the location in the house is a bug? Uh oh. Sounds like that means someday soon we may just have to rely on luck to spawn a gold heart, cause there's no way to order the occupants so that every couple pairing is a job formula. Either way, you get an A+ for thinking up clever dimensions for this game. Lots of fun little side features. You should be very proud.
Based on Ivan's post, I'm considering going ahead and trying to make up some golden hearts. This would be purely for the future - I might pump hearts now and then for more primates, but mostly I just get animals from the casino. Two topics I'd be interested in people's thoughts on: First, given that hearts being moveable is a bug, do people think it makes more sense to put the pairs in 4 and 6 person houses or mostly in 2 person houses? (The real question here may be one for Ivan - when the game is deciding where to spawn a heart, does it pick a pair of people or does it randomly select a building first? If the latter, which seems more likely given the moveable hearts, 2 person houses would actually be better, I think, because you'd only have to "win" the RNG one time instead of twice in a row.) Second, what to do about non golden hearts housing in general? The only thing I plan to do between now and the next update is build as many taverns as possible, which means that I'm going to have ever more housing but still only 74 (or whatever) possible golden hearts. Given that, should I even bother?
Yeah I'm gonna wait a while before going out of my way to make lots of gold heart houses from this point out (about 80% of my houses are GH now and my plan was to keep re-distributing people among houses now and then to keep the number close to 100% GH). My strategy has been to move to Glass Houses and Precarious Heights to allow for all gold heart houses where "bad" couples can be stashed in lower tiers. In truth, if you develop all of your houses in that way, you're still only relying on one RNG working in your favor, it just shifts it from the house selection to the pair selection. But, if the choice of the couple is to be random in the future with no power to engineer high success, then... meh, I'll just not bother. Frankly, I'm not sure why the devs would want to take away that control. Seems like many players that find the GH side-game rewarding would just abandon it if they didn't get much payoff. Why would thye want that? It's almost like they serendipitously created a cool feature, just like the C/C style of building the ciyt. But then, I feel the same way about their perspective on the Church Casino approach. To me it allows for a much different, more slowly progressing game that would seem to be positive as it keeps you engaged longer, rather than blowing through new content and checking out until the next update. I'd be adding in little benefits for playing and staying at low levels. Still, it's their vision, and a cool innovative game, so I'm not complaining.
Ah ok, thanks for the reply. It's not something I feel like trying out to see how it works since I'd rather use my money to buy those precious casino-spins. On the topic of the farm only working when the app is open. I don't know if somebody else tried this, but when I close the app by switching to Facebook it seems to continue working. I first noticed that when you try to post a formula for a clone on Facebook the app switches over and when you go back there is no start-up screen, and your golden hearts (if present upon switching) remain intact. So I tried to determain if the money I made differed and it seems to me like the farm works normally this way. I don't know if this works every time since I just found out about it, so I apologize in advance if it doesn't work, but I thought people might want to try this.
Testing right now...here's hoping! EDIT: But it looks like you can only get to fb from in-app when you first discover a new formula?
I just go to the top menu (where you can see all your first clones) and tap one (nurse for example) and then tap the Facebook icon in the top left corner. I'm not signed in on Facebook, but it still swithes to the Facebook-app and asks me to sign in which I don't do. Then when I restart PP I don't get the startup screen. I don't know if the icon disappears when you have actually posted the formula.
This workaround appears to work, at least for short periods. I had to remove Pixel People from Facebook's authorized apps, but after that if I switched to facebook and then exited to the home screen the farm continued to work, even when I then locked the phone. Upon reentering Pixel people, the launch screen did not come up but instead a little wall of green appeared in the top right, presumably representing all the money the app had earned while the phone was locked. The amount was consistent with a working farm. Tonight I'll turn the app off this way overnight instead of leaving it running, and we'll see if it continues to work. In the long run I assume that most of the battery drain from PP is from graphics, and that this will make it possible to leave the app "running" all day. I'll know more tomorrow evening though! Thank you for this, StevO-J, I'm really excited about it!!! Fingers crossed!
Well, I think I found a drawback to this method. I checked the timer for the trees and it seems to be slower than it was. I guess this is timed in another way than the mine, since the mine still resets around midnight. My trees are now a few hours 'late'. I don't mind, I have more than enough utopium, but i don't know if it weighs up the the extra profit due to the farm (depending on your cps of course).
Hm, yeah, some of the timers seem to not run while it's in what we might call facebook mode. Trees and also the heart events. But for the tree issue this could be a major exploit (or for someone who cares only about money and not u), if it allows the farm event to function while the app is closed AND also extends how long it runs for. Insofar as u is limited and money really isn't, I think that the cost is too great to be worth it.
So, I don't know exactly what was what but when I woke up my trees were back on their correct schedule, although the heart timers weren't. I think that this means that when they expire the trees check the clock and resync to midnight. I think that this makes the facebook mode thing a potential exploit. Basically, if you use the post formula to fb option when you don't have the app authorized to use fb, it switches to fb leaving PP in the background. At that point you can return to home, lock the phone, whatever, and the app will continue to run. But unlike when you close the app normally the farm will keep working and the timers on trees and the three heart meters will not run. However, when the trees (but only the trees) finally reset, they will resync. So, if (for example) you're like me and you sleep from before midnight until 7 or 8 each morning, you could close the app using fb for up to 8 hours a day, get 8 hours of "free" farm (not needing hearts) and still have your trees all normal by the time you wake up. Insofar as I paid for the Ministry of Love and can run the Farm forever anyway, I may keep experimenting with this. But since I don't know exactly how much the game might hate it, I think I'll Back up my phone first.
Not sure it was a bug, but I've tried to let the app open at night with farm on. Yesterday I've let the app opened, but did not notice I had the taskbar opened all night after a double home click. The farm timer didn't decrease, and I got the coins, not sure if they were doubled with the farm though
