I am having counter issues as well.

I only need about 10 people more to have all the unique jobs, but the counter says I only have about 160/211.

Doesn't seem to affect gameplay as I still get achievements, etc.

I am stuck at 72 residences on my CC game.

I want one pair in each residence to create a golden heart, and I can't seem to find more than 72 pairings without creating duplicate buildings.

So, now I have to upgrade from PH to GH to be able to increase my population.

I have about 10 more jobs left to have all of them.

I had to stop playing that game because I was bored with just leveling up. I picked one floor (I think it was the detective agency) and made it something like level 1200. It takes something like 4.5 days to stock anything. Although, I did see the new update and am building the new floors. I have had over 200 floors (with empties) for I think more than a year, so I'll still have a few empties after the newest eight complete, but we'll see if I have the patience to fill them with dream job 9's.

Ivan, I know you know of the Alsatian glitch (negative counter), but wondered if you fixed all the animals or just that one for 1.41. I'm playing a traditional game on my iphone 4 and have the alsatian glitch. However, I'm playing a CC game on my ipad 3 and have a glitch on the lion. Right now it says I have -34 of them. I really hope everything gets reset with the patch, because I'd hate to have to wait until I find 35 more to complete the foodie (??) mission.

1.41 will reset all negative animals to zero.

    Summary Page

Sorry if this has been asked before. I keep winking in and out of this forum and it's become too large to try and sort through what's been asked and what hasn't.

I think it was TRB4 that made a handy spreadsheet describing building stats. Hope I'm crediting the right person. Thank you for that. What I'm wondering is:
    1. What other handy summaries are out there, and
    2. Could these lists/descriptions be placed somewhere convenient - say, all in the same post - where we could create a bookmark to find them easily.

Things that I'm always curious about include:

    • When do the special genes appear?
    • What are the rates of various features (e.g., Casino, Shelter, Leveling up) at different levels
    • What do I do now that I've sent my firefighter to the hotel and cannot send him back to housing (how many times has that one been asked?!

I'm sure there are more. It'd just be nice to have one location for all of this stuff to be compiled and referenced.

If it already exists, apologies, and please point me to the location! :D If it doesn't exist, I'm happy to do the legwork of referencing the various posts in this message, if people could help point me to them and would find it helpful to have a sort of reference location.

    SOME HANDY REFERENCES/ANSWERS:

    TRB4's Awesome Pixel People Spreadsheet

    Gold Heart Information

Stranded Firefighters. Q: What do I do when my firefighter gets stranded in Hotel Utopium? A: You need to send the 2nd firefighter to the Hotel also. Then, you will be able to send them both back to housing.

Romantic Gene. Q: How do I get the Romantic Gene? A: You must buy/earn it through a mission in the Mission Control center.

Job Count. Why does my job count show more jobs than it should (e.g. 214/211)? A: The Secret Formula jobs from the Conspiracy Theorist at the Secret Hideout do not count in the job tally on the top of the main screen.

Church/Casino Strategy. Q: What are some tips for playing the Chrush Casino Strategy? A: Check here.

To 0? What about those of us who have heaps of Alsations and can't use them for good boy peach? I'd have like 30+ u from that if I could actually USE my Alsations as alsations; I can use them as dogs or any other slot. :'(

Also afaik the only sort of special info like that is trb4's spreadsheet. Speaking of TRB4, do you play world of tanks by any chance?

    gold hearts

OK, here's another game feature that I'd like to find an updated summary on what we know - gold hearts.

    Questions:

    • What are gold hearts
    • How do you generate them?
    • What do they do?
    • How can they be used strategically in the game?

So far, we can say this, I believe:

    What are Gold Hearts?
They are gold-colored hearts that replace the normally red-colored hearts in the string of 11 hearts that appear at the top of the screen and are filled by touching and holding (pumping) the larger hearts that appear about every 20 seconds above the houses that have paired pixel people in them.

    How do you generate them?
Gold hearts are generated when a large heart floats above a house that has a pair of pixel people that combine to form one of the new profession formulas in the game. It is required that the couple is housed in the same order that they occur in the formula. For example, the MAYOR and MECHANIC combine as the formula for the ENGINEER profession in the game, but the pair MUST be placed in the house with the MAYOR on the left and the MECHANIC on the right, as this is how the two professions are ordered in the formula for the ENGINEER.

Also, if the house holds more than one pair of pixel people, the proper couple must be selected to generate a gold heart. When the house below the large floating heart is selected, a panel opens up showing the pairs in the house (up to 3 pairs). One of the pairs will have a smaller beating heart next to it. The initial location of this beating heart is random, but can be manipulated by closing and re-opening the house panel. This must be done until the small beating heart is located to the right of the couple that correctly defines a profession formula (usually easiest to just fill your house so that the correct pair is positioned as the top pair).

Also, if you close the game and reopen it after you've begun a string, the hearts that were gold in the string when you closed the game will have turned to red hearts when you re-open the game.

Finally, the gold hearts always appear on the left portion of the string, with any red hearts created being moved to the right of the gold hearts. No relevance for this has been suggested, it's just curious.

    What do Gold Hearts do?
This is still not well defined. We know, from trials, that a full string of gold hearts will generate an instant surprise that is an animal, seemingly without fail. Also, in the early game, the animal generated will be one that has not yet been collected. So, for example, if you start the game creating all gold-heart generating houses, and generate all gold-heart strings (with all or the vast majority of the hearts being gold), you will continue to collect new animals, without duplication, until you have the full collection.

Seems likely that the developers intend gold hearts to give the player a greater likelihood of earning something necessary, like animals needed for open, but uncompleted missions.

Also, it seems that at least one gold heart in the string seems to reduce the odds of getting a low coin award as an instant surprise.

Update: I'm disappointed to report that the gold heart strings do not work the way I'd hoped when I was playing them early game. Since the gold hearts gave me only new animals early on, without duplication, I assumed that they would also selectively provide animals that had been depleted to zero by missions. However, now that I have the Casino and have tested this (by using some animal species in missions and having them depleted to zero), I find it does not pan out. I have been getting all animals with full gold heart strings, but they are NOT targeting the animal species I've depleted. This is a really bummer, as I was hoping to use gold hearts to quickly restock with monkeys and Alsatians, insects, etc. for the most productive missions.

Does anyone else have more insight into the gold hearts?

I agree, it'd be a bummer to lose a stockpile of Alsatians!

OK, thanks. I'll try and find a post by TRB4 so I can create a reference for his spreadsheet.

    OK, another question:

Is there a trigger for the building-rotation feature? The buildings do not have this feature in my restarted game (still at Lvl 8). Will that feature turn on at some point, or do I need a particular gene or profession to enable that?

    Thanks!

Thank you! I never experienced many of these triggers the first time, because my game was out ahead of them!

More than anyone can count. Send the other firefighter to the hotel as well.

    Edit: Oh, you got me.

    It's late. Well played.

Last Monday I said I would start looking for it in a week (tomorrow) and I'm sticking to that. Apple's lag time has actually been a very consistent 14-16 days. Maybe 17 in one other game I follow, I'm not sure.

Heh, sorry, I wasn't actually trying to trip anyone up, just added that as an example of things that's be nice to have an answer to in one place. I'll go ahead and add a solution to that in my post.

Well I have all the jobs as well as all the secrets. So thus I was correct saying it is a bug. Thus the first question (who is the doctor?? Oops, wrong first question, when might it be fixed??).
