    Daily Utopium limit

My apologies if this has been asked and answered before:

I know the trees have a daily Utopium limit of 25. However, I completed quite a few mini missions today, resulting in perhaps 10 total extra U's. Since doing the mine this morning, a few trees, and then those mini-missions, I've received SQUAT from the trees. I've played quite a bit since then, for prolonged periods (10 minutes or more) with nothing from the trees. I'm wondering if the game has calculated ALL my received U's against the amount available from the trees?

Should I be going for the 25u from the trees first, and then go for these additional resources (missions, etc)?

Has this happened to anyone else?

    Thanks in advance.

But if you have >1000u, what's the big deal?

I like to keep about 400u in reserve for a big future update like 1.3 was. So when my total creeps up to ~500u every few days, I'll either spend 100u on a Glass House, or convert to 300,000,000 coins for 30 casino spins.

On the surface, both of those options seem wasteful, but if you already have hundreds of utopium, why not?

When did you do your trees yesterday?

Prior to 1.4, trees reset after 16 hours after first harvest. Now they reset 24 hours after first harvest. Meaning if you started your trees later yesterday than it is now, they haven't reset yet. Ivan has said that in the next patch they will change to always reset at midnight.

You are right but for some reason I still cannot bring myself to do it... yet. :)

I guess I keep thinking something really useful will be coming that will cost u.

Aha - that is likely the problem! I had forgotten about the reset time. Thank you!

I'm the exact same way. It's just the hoarder in us. :D

I guess that makes me a "semi-hoarder". I won't drop below 400u and 200,000,000 coins for the same reasons, but I will spend anything above that on missions and casino spins.

Yeah, I can't resist a casino spin. I often drop to zero coins.
    But I don't spend the u much, got 500+.
Not sure where to spend it now that I upgraded my buildings?

Well, I burned through about 400u with the 1.3 content update, so that's why I consider that a good reserve amount. That was spent on genes (e.g. 100u outright for the Hitch Hiker, 20-30u for the other missions) and building completion/upgrades. Whenever I started a new building, I immediately spent 4u to finish it instead of waiting 24 hours, and I also upgraded it right to level 5 before I charged it for the first time.

So if we're lucky enough to have as expansive a content update in the future, I'll have enough utopium ready for the new stuff!

    yep about the same here.
I just don't upgrade the lower yielding buildings, prefer to spend it on the best ones duplicates
    I can't spend u for cash though.

Btw, this is one of the things I like in this game:
the multiple arbitrage possibilities offered between coins, u, animals...

It's really weird that I couldn't find the extra 1 land usage in my town. I am pretty sure I removed all initial trees and decors already… maybe I need to check it one more time

Hmm. We've resolved some missing land issues by locating a misplaced building or decor in some really obscure location (most likely due to accidental swipes while moving a building or butt-pixel-peopling).

I got the Casino last night in my "level 1 forever" game. A spin costs 500,000 coins at level 1 (the same as >= level 9, I think?) Animal shelter surprises are 250,000 coins.

I had accumulated about 20m coins since I started, so I was hoping to get a few trees and houses from these 40 spins. Instead, I got five plazas, two manors, and no trees. :( My spirit is already maxed out (14/10).

I think my next steps are to get the remaining buildings needed for the Easter Bunny gene before the end of April, and to get the chemical plant to help my daily utopium gathering since I only have 9 trees.

Now, the mission rewards don't scale the same way. At level 1, all the cash rewards are 1,000,000 coins with no variation. Therefore, the Fool's Gold mission is worth two full casino spins at level 1, versus half a spin (5m coins) in a max level game. Also, the Monkey Business mission is highly-valued in a max level game as it returns 15 spins (150m coins) for a cost of 6 primates and 10u (and you're likely swimming in utopium in a max level game so 10u is no big deal). But in my level 1 game, Monkey Business returns the same 1 million coins for the same cost, so it's foolish to spend 10u for two spins.

Ivan, please don't change this. I think it's an interesting dynamic that missions vary greatly in their value to the gameplay depending on what level you're at.

Could be due to the Racecar Driver glitch. The Racecar Driver requires 1 land when spliced, but does not provide a building.

Just gonna say, the spam removal here is lightning fast; I didn't even have time to report it and it was already gone. :3

I also find it really interesting how contrasting the two play styles are.

The regular way is easy to start and gets harder and it take so much longer for things to progress; you end up being limited by the fact that your full city needs heaps of duplicates to keep the cash coming in.

The casino way is the opposite; it takes forever to start off with as you're limited by u and clones; however a full end game city will get you rewards almost every minute.

Seems the casino way is a lot better for the end game as things never take more than a few minutes to build and you get casino spins crazy fast. Regular end game takes a day or more to build something new and 30 mins for clones. Might have to find my old iPod touch and start anew...

I like the Casino/Church game simply because I don't feel the need to just splice and build until there is nothing left.

I am taking a slow more methodical approach which seems more rewarding from a strategic aspect.

One thing to note on your comment - I don't think there is any difference in build times. New buildings in my Casino/Church game take 12+ hours to complete.

My guess is that the Easter Bunny will be available for purchase after April (similar to the Romantic). So it may not be worth the land to build everything needed to unlock it for free.

You can use missions to get trees for 1M coins.

I moved my lone firefighter into the hotel so that I could reclaim some land. But now I can't move him back out--the Fire Station workplace is greyed out despite not having a firefighter working there. So he's basically stuck in the hotel and I can't even delete him.

    Any ideas?

Thank you very much for quick reply! The actual reason was just like TRB4 said, I forgot that racecar driver wastes 1 land with no new building…

This question is asked about once every 3 pages in this topic.

    To fix:

Send the other Firefighter to the Hotel as well, then they can both be sent back to work.
