Precisely. Here's the path to unlocking the key buildings as quickly as possible (special genes underlined): Spoiler Astro Church Dreamer + Dreamer = Philosopher Philosopher + Dreamer = Preacher --> unlocks Astro Church Casino Mayor + Mechanic = Engineer Mayor + Mayor = Sheriff Mechanic + Mechanic = Assistant Assistant + Sheriff = Deputy Mayor + Engineer = Architect Assistant + Architect = Landscaper Philosopher + Engineer = Scientist Philosopher + Scientist = Mathematician Landscaper + Deputy = Gardener Engineer + Gardener = Farmer Farmer + Gardener = Homemaker Homemaker + Gardener = Nurse Engineer + Nurse = Doctor Sherrif + Landscaper = Park Ranger Park Ranger + Doctor = Vet Sherrif + Vet = Animal Trainer Mayor + Deputy = Secretary Bureaucrat + Secretary = Civil Servant --> unlocks Utiopia HQ, needed to complete the mission to get the Socialite gene Socialite + Animal Trainer = Party Animal Party Animal + Mathematician = Gambler --> unlocks Casino It will also be useful to have the Hotel at this point, so you can reclaim land when you replace Rocky Mansions with astroglass houses. For that, you need the Hotel Manager (Homemaker + Salesman).
They should really be using an unsigned 32-bit integer instead of a plain int (since you can't go negative). In that case, the upper limit would be 4,294,967,294 coins instead of 2,147,483,647 coins.
No, that's not it at all. I'm frustrated because I'm not able to refrain from building economically inefficient AND unrequired buildings. Stuff like Florist and Law Firm and such, just because I need to get to the next totally arbitrary gene unlock point. I want to build a town that is efficient and has only the buildings in it that are required for later buildings I want. But instead, I have to make a whole bunch of crappy buildings and jobs while I wait for the HUGE genetic branches to open up that are otherwise inaccessible until the RNG favors you.
Golden Heart Discovery So, I finally got around to upgrading my Church/Casino iDevice to 1.4. It look like there were some improvements made to golden heart system. Specifically, when I filled up all my slots with golden hearts, I was awarded a Tier 5 animal where I had 0. Here are my results from filling up with all golden hearts four times. Note: I have not bought any hearts in the Research Lab. 1. Terrier 2. Platypus 3. Hyena 4. Crocodile Nice. I got all the new animals in four consecutive Surprises. I will be running some additional tests to see results for various amounts of golden hearts and publish them soon. Of course, I now have all the animals so I am hoping that golden hearts help in other areas in later versions.
Thanks for the information as always TRB4. Well at least it forces me not to save too much and have some fun at the casino. Edit: For those curious or unaware, they raised the level cap to 60. You can also use the carnival which will give you 10% boost on top of your 50% discount, making each level only 120mil to level. It does not affect the price of anything.
Yep, I also got all of my new Tier 5 animals very quickly with gold hearts before restarting. Trouble is, now that my houses are set up to only generate gold hearts, I'm only getting critters as surprises (28 received, all unique, and so far, 7 of the 28 are Tier 5), and in the early game, a few utopium surprises would be welcome. I wonder if you CAN get anything but animals with all gold hearts, at least until you have all of the animals. I may have to close and open the game now and then, as I notice that that action changes all of the hearts you've accumulated in the string to red ones, even if they were all gold before you closed the game.
I'm wondering whether shifting the Scientist and Mathematician down after the Vet makes sense, so you can get to the Shelter earlier. That's the path I was planning to take.
Yes, certainly. There are a few parallel paths in there; I was just listing all the essential combinations.
Funny, because a lot of the best missions imho require a lot of tier 1/2/3 animals (as of 1.4). Just plain dogs give you 6u, bears also, monkeys and 10u give you 150m coins... I'm totally unbalanced in animals now. I got way too many tier4/tier5 animals (sometimes 20/30 of each) and almost none tier1/2 anymore except a few specials waiting for 1.41 to get chopped too. So honestly I don't see the point of optimizing for golden hearts if the reward effectively is getting only high tier animals. We'll see what the golden hearts goal is in the next updates, but I rather get a dog from my surprise than a useless red panda!
Thks for the tip, I didn't notice that! What do you guys think is the best way of leveling up now, assuming you're already past the maxed casino/surprises prices? I exclusively leveled up with coins until now. but I think lawyer at 40u may be the way to go now, because the best way to get AG residencies/decor is through casino? I also never exchanged u for coins, not sure it's worth it. But with the mine and the added AG trees, it's easy to get the 25u a day for me even with playing only 10m. Any thoughts?
Yeah I'm at level 25 with all jobs and 34 trees; for me it takes 2 days to level up via u whereas it would take me almost a week to reach 130 million.
I'm making 110m a day checking only once, so it would take me only a day and a half to level up with coins But my question was more about the usefulness of coins now: Are coins being put to better use at the casino, to get AG buildings, than leveling up? It's kind of reverse from the early days where u was way more valuable than coins.
Yep, I agree. I was clogged with higher tier and special animals before restarting, and would also welcome a feature that allows you to select particular animals (primates!!!) that you could somehow increase the odds of receiving using your gold heart advantage. Thus far in my restarted space rock community, I have received 50 heart surprises. All but a couple early on were earned with strings of all gold hearts (before I realized that closing the game during an uncompleted string and reopening turned the hearts you'd collected before closing from gold to red). I only received animals, no coin or utopium rewards. And, I never got a duplicate animal. Also, the rewards favored higher tier animals, especially early on:
How is over-logging supposed to work? I paid 150mil for it and it hasn't changed a single thing. :-/ I activated it at 6 yesterday after I had reached the harvest cap and still got 10's instead of u, and this afternoon I hit the cap again well before I got 50u. It takes so long to get cash I really feel cheated.
Well, there are 80 different animal species that can be had from surprises in this game. Thus far in my restarted game, collecting 79 heart surprises from only all-gold heart strings, I have collected only animals (no coin or utopium surprises) made up of 79 different animal species, with absolutely no duplication. The first Tier to be completed was Tier 5, then Tier 4, then Tier 3 then Tier 1. Now all that is left to be rescued is the Lion. Hmm...I wonder what my next heart surprise will be? Wish I could put some kind of wager on it!! Update: And, it was a Lion. So...guess that theory is confirmed. Gold hearts give you animals first, at least when you don't have any, and deliver species you are lacking rather than providing a duplicate. So, now that I have all of the animals...what will I get? A dupe, or maybe I'll start getting some utopium? I hope so, cause the animals are doing nothing for me right now, and I could really use some u. Update: The next surprise was a poodle. So, I'm gonna collect a few more all-gold-heart surprises to see if I get anything but animals, and if not, then I will start closing out of the game before the string of hearts is finished, thereby turning them red (not sure if that actually functionally changes them in the game to red hearts) to see if that yields some coin or u surprises. If so, and if you want the option of eithetr animals or coin/utopium, then the best strategy is to build houses with at least two pairs of people in them, and make one a match that produces a gold heart, and the other one that doesn't. Then, you could chose whether to spawn a gold or red heart. Probably best to place all of the gold heart couples as the top couple, to keep things simple. Update: Ended up just getting animal after animal when spawning all gold hearts, so started experimenting with shutting the game down when I got within a few hearts of the end of the string. That works, as it changes the hearts in the string that you've built all to red, and that way you can just add 1 or a few gold hearts. Haven't received any utopium yet, but did get a $9,000 coin surprise and a $70,000 coin surprise. At least this means you don't have to build residents that have couples that do not generate gold hearts. You can make all gold heart houses and "engineer" red hearts by shutting the game off and re-entering. Update: Did get a +2 Utopium with two gold hearts. A single gold heart seems to ofte get me a $9,000 coin surprise, while two gold hearts often gets me $70,000 coins.
Roads and Waterways I seem to be unable to landscape with roads or waterways. Shouldn't I be able to at Level 1? Is this a bug? All I can do is build Houses and Trees, even though there is a hint about how to landscape several paths at once: Sorry if this has been asked before. Couldn't find it in the thread.
