It never occurred to me to need to do that with housing, but I guess you're right. I've only used the hotel to free up space when waiting on non-housing structures. Not when waiting on housing.

Small thing - when completing the missions that have changing people (like couples & pets and fool's gold), the Easter Bunny has popped up a few times. The first time I saw it I wracked my brain to think up the combo before realizing that it was probably a bug/oversight.

I'm sure someone has explained my question in detail somewhere here, but how do you gain Utopium? What is the most efficient way? What is the deal about the max Utopium limit per day?

You gain Utopium by mining the Utopium Mine (once a day, 1 or 2 u a day), by surprises you get from filling hearts - or speeding the surprises via Animal Shelter, which used to be at the Gene Pool, but now it's the place for Special Gene archive (no daily limits, I guess, but the odds are pretty low), by playing the Casino (endgame almost, odds as low as the ones from surprises), by leveling up (1 for lower levels, 2 for late levels) and a limited 25u from trees. Oh, and by Achievements/looking at the Most Wanted (devs) list.

And the deal about Utopium Limit? Freemium Games have to have at least this little limitation, I guess. Or else people won't have any reason to give the devs extra money.

So how many trees do I have to have to get the 25u?

Does anyone have any issues with the "Commercial" section? I was viewing some of the offers to get some free Utopium and then it crashed on me. Now everytime I open it the game crashes on me.

You only need a few trees but it would take forever because trees only give out U every so often. I'm playing a casino/church game and I have 26 trees and it takes probably an hour or two to get most of my U. I have another game with 50 trees and I can get my 25 U, in about 20 or 30 mins. I've been playing a while so I could be off, but right around 20 trees I was getting decent U in a reasonable amount of time.

I see. I'll have to get some more trees. Right now I'm level at level 13 and I keep hitting a wall where I can't do anything for a couple days until I either get enough U or get enough coins to level up. I'm thinking I may need to invest in some towers to get my land use down.

Are some of the Easter eggs hidden in the mission gene buildings?

Not sure what you mean by mission gene buildings, but here's a non-specific spoiler:

The eggs are in the Courthouse's tabs of all the jobs, the Sheriff Office's tabs of employees, and various normal buildings.

Hi, I saw some post talking about spending less than 4m for surprise and less than 10m for casino, am I correct? And how could you do that? I have upgraded both of my animal shelter and casino to level 5 and they are still cost me 4m and 10 m.
    (I'm currently at level 22)

    Thank you :)

Surprise ans casino costs per level

I've started a secondary game on my iPad, with the popular casino / church strategy.

I know that someone posted the costs of surprise and casino per expansion level, but I can't manage to find this particular post (I've tried many searches within TouchArcade and with Google). This info isn't on any PP Wiki either.

I don't want to upgrade too much and ruin the strategy. I'm currently level 8 (or 9 ?) : it's written "Level 9" in this Expand window, and I have 110 land available

    Thanks !

Those costs are pegged to the level of your city (expand button in bottom right) and increase as your city grows until they reach their caps of 4 and 10 million, respectively. Once the cost is capped, there is no way to decrease it again. You'd have to start over and use astroglass from the casino and/or church donations to grow your city while keeping your level low.

Someone posted and basically you can expand to level 10. At level 9 things are still 250k for animal shelter surprise, and 500k for casino. At level 10 Animal shelter goes to 265k, but casino stays the same. If you goto level 11 things start to go south, because the casino costs 770k per spin. Hope that helps, I'm doing the church/casino on my ipad and its lots of fun, but it was slow going the first few days.

    Thanks, that's what I was looking for ! :)

I'll try to stop upgrading after level 9.

The church / casino strategy is indeed really fun, and I think it was made easier in v1.4 with the Farm event. It's also easy cause I already bought the IAP in my first game and was able to restore it even without building an Entreprise :)

Ok, here are my latest stats for my Church/Casino game.

What is interesting is that the Church part of the strategy doesn't really kick in until later in the game. You can get pretty far just leveling to Level 9.

    * Level 8 - 128/140 land
    * 148/210 (194 total population)
    * All AG housing - I am actually deleting new MOS residences
    * Ridiculous amounts of plaza decor (200+ spirit; only 24 needed)
    * 1338 cps (no duplicate buildings)
    * Casino spin every 6 minutes and 14 seconds.
    * Plenty and u and animals (to convert to u) for when I finally need more church donations.

I still have all residences generating golden hearts. This has slowed down my game, as I have run out of new profession combinations that create golden hearts (without creating duplicate buildings). So I am slowly moving from MOS to PH and GH residences so I can have one row that creates golden hearts and the rest can be any profession.

The probabilities that were posted say that AG Plaza and Glass House have the same odds from the Casino. Yet I have many more AG Plaza than Glass House. It is about a 3:1 difference. What are other folks findings?

A user requested that I make my Pixel People Building spreadsheet available online. So I have decided to upload it to Google Docs.

    Here is the link:

    TRB4's Pixel People Buildings spreadsheet

Some notes on how to read the spreadsheet:

General note: When I mention level, I am talking about the Building's level, NOT your expansion level. Building levels can be increased for 3u per level after you have built a Tech Support building.

Name - This is obviously the name of the building.
CPS - This is the MAXIMUM Coins Per Second that the building can produce. This number assumes that you have both a bank and all workers in that building.
Base Working Time - This is how long the building will work for, in minutes, at Level 1. This number already includes the Double Time IAP. If you don't have the IAP, you will need to divide all the numbers in this column in half.
Base Work Cycle Income (BWCI) - This is how much money you will receive from the building PER TAP at level 1.
Upgrade Level - This is where you put in what level YOUR buildings are. All my buildings are level 5, but you might need to edit these values if you haven't max leveled all of your buildings yet.
Total WCI - This is how much money your buildings produce PER TAP at whatever level you typed into the Upgrade Level column.
Workers - This is how many workers it currently takes to fully staff this building. Please note that this number may be affected after an update, as they tend to add more jobs to each building during each update.
Land needed for housing - This is the amount of land that you will need to use for housing in order to fully staff this building. This number assumes that you are using the Shiny Tower to be as efficient as possible.
Avg CPS per clone - This is the building's CPS divided by number of workers needed to fully staff the building.
Avg BWCI per clone - This is the building's Base Work Cycle divided by number of workers needed to fully staff the building.
Land Needed - This is the amount of land needed to place this building.
Avg CPS per land - This is the building's CPS divided by the amount of land needed.
Avg BWCI per land - This is the building's Base Work Cycle divided by the amount of land needed.
Avg CPS per land including housing - This is the building's CPS divided by the amount of land needed for BOTH the building and the housing for the building's staff.
Avg BWCI per land including housing - This is the building's Base Work Cycle Income divided by the amount of land needed for BOTH the building and the housing for the building's staff.

Some tips for using this information:

You can use the Sort & Filter function in Excel to sort the data by which ever category you're most interested in. By default the data is sorted by Base Working Time, and then by CPS.

If you play the game for extended periods of time and/or many times a day, then you should focus on the CPS columns.

If you only play once or twice a day, then you should focus on the BWCI columns.

I hope that this information is helpful to those of you who like to optimize your towns as much as possible. If you have any suggestions for how I could improve this data please let me know, either publicly in this topic, or privately through PM.

    Enjoy! :D

If there was a way for me to save my primary city and play a new one for a bit (and switch back to the primary when a patch comes out) I would try this. It sounds awesome.

I know I'm repeating myself, but I can't help it!!!
