I'd say just keep them far off in a spot that they'll never bug you. Better to have them than not, as you never know what kind of balancing and content that might come in the future.
Ivan mentioned that the Casino may be rebalanced because it gives out too much Spirit. He suggested they may lower the odds in the Casino or increase the amount of Spirit needed. So, I would hold on to it. I know how you feel, though. Plazas are taking over my casino/church game.
Since the new update, I have sthg that bothers me in the missions. whenever I complete a mission, I have to remind utopia of the job splicing formula again when the mission comes up the next time. Before that, once the jobs required were filled, it was done for good for all the identical missions. I guess it's intentional and not a bug, to get the player to do sthg more during missions, but it looks like a chore to find the job spec again and again Also some missions seem to have random jobs required, so whenever you exit and come back, the jobs required have changed...kinda boring
So I figured out where the settings are in the game (town hall). There is an iCloud button that is switched to "off", but it won't let me turn it "on". This is the same for both my iPhone and iPad. What's the deal?
ICloud saves were supported in the beginning, but not anymore since 1.1 for technical reasons I think. I now play only on my iPad.
That's lame. I have a pretty good city going on my iPhone and I'd really like to bring it over to my iPad... If I would have known that I probably would have started on my ipad instead...
I find it problematic right now that building worktimes cannot be refreshed until they have expired. A fully upgraded stadium for example, at 20 hour duration, actually has less uptime than if upgraded to 12 hours, as it will always time out when you're asleep. Likewise, if a 4 hour building has 10 minutes remaining, it's frustrating not to be able to refresh it. As a suggestion for a future building/feature, therefore: Power Station On use: Instantly refresh the work time of all buildings in your city. 3(?) hour cooldown.
My firefighter is stuck in the hotel! I was moving my pixel people from the inefficient housing to a newly built shiny towers, so I stored my firefighter in the hotel and deleted the old building. But now the firefighter is stuck there! The fire station has an empty slot for firefighter, but my firefighter's job location is blacked out. I think this may be because there are two firefighter slots in the fire station, and the other one is filled, so the game registers that building as no more firefighters allowed. Could you please check your code or fix this somehow? I think the fire station only recently got updated to have two firefighters. Please fix this! I can't move the person out and get rid of inefficient housing now because theres only six slots in hotel. And I don't want to have another fire station.
This has been mentioned so many times... Sigh. Just move the other firefighter from the fire station to the hotel. Then you'll be able to send both of them back to the fire station.
Thank you! Sorry, I didn't have time to read through 200+ pages of comments. It took me nearly an hour to locate your guide to the Easter eggs too, because the search kept leading me to the wrong page. Thanks for the reply!
I've been playing realtor and relocating a lot of my people recently to increase the number of houses that I can select gold hearts from when those houses spawn hearts. I've found it to be fairly reliable that a gold heart in the chain (I can only collect 4 hearts/chain due to the research investments I've made) usually generates an animal surprise, and almost always it's an animal I had x0 of before the surprise. I mentioned earlier that I got all of my new animals from this update from heart surprises that had at least 1 gold heart in the chain. Anyway, I have build my gold heart-generating neighborhood up from only 4 houses to 23, so I now get a lot more gold heart chains and have a better chance of generating multiple-gold heart chains. Maybe this will all prove to be pointless if the gold hearts don't have much of an impact, but it's been kind of fun and challenging. But, I'm posting to share something else I noticed. I had a Spoiler lumberjack in one of the houses I was trying to vacate so I sent him to the hotel along with the rest of the house's residents. The Spoiler lumberjack , however, was still waiting for the Spoiler lumber mill to finish construction, and so was blocking a new clone slot at the Arrival Center. So, by sending him to the hotel, I cleared the slot for a new clone. That's something that you often have to wait a day for later in the game, while something else finishes construction, or something you have to pay more than the 1u hotel fee to expedite. Plus, there's always the chance you get your 1u back, or double that with the hotel. So, the hotel is an alternate strategy for moving spliced clones from the Arrival Center. This may have been obvious to most of you, but wasn't to me.
Yeah, my general strategy when new clones are added to the game is to: 1.) Try to make 6 clones that need a new building as soon as possible, and send all of them to the hotel. 2.) Try to make as many clones that have no land requirements and send them to existing buildings. This way I can get the timers on the new building construction going as soon as possible.
It seems to me that the golden hearts increase the chance if getting an animal instead of coins or utopium. I kept some statistics on it in the beginning, but noticed pretty quickly that one golden heart (out of 4 also in my case) never gets me a small coin reward, only the big one, 2u or an animal. And in case of 2 or more golden hearts always an animal. It doesn't seem likely that this is a coincidence as it works out pretty consistently, but I could be mistaken. Maybe some other people would like to keep an eye on the rewards received with golden hearts to see if this theory is viable or not. Thanks in advance.
I quite agree with your theory. Over the past 50 surprises that I've gotten with golden hearts, 1 GH will result in 500,000 coins, 2u or an animal, and anything greater than 2 GH never seems to give me anything but animals. Don't have exact numbers, just something I've been observing out of curiosity.
I wonder whether, beyond just favoring animals, it also increases the odds of getting animals you either haven't received, or have found, but have none. I seem to get a very disproportionate number of these animal rewards with gold hearts. I especially appreciate replenishment of my precious monkeys!!
Yes the hotel is very useful for that. I also use it for clones that I need multiple copies of, to avoid forgetting that I need the copies - I'll splice the first one, see multiple buildings to place it in, so move it to the hotel and wait until I have enough arrived blank clones to fill all the places. So I can place the first one, then splice and place the others right away.
I just want to say how great this game is. I've been passing this game by for a while. Some time ago I decided to protest free to play games because a lot of developers were abusing IAPs and I just got tired of it... I finally decided to download Pixel People because it's been on Toucharcade's hot new games list for a while, so I figured I'd give it a try. All I have to say is, wow! This game is addicting. There is some real depth to the game that I was not expecting. Even though I despise IAP I have to say I was compelled to buy the upgrade from the Enterprise building to upgrade production times. Great game!
Woohoo - glad you discovered this, I got my musician mission back and was able to complete it as I finally got the bat I needed yesterday morning!! On another note, Friday night I activated the lumber yard, hoping that it would work over 2 days and get me those extra utopium. I maxed out at 25 as usual, so figured I'd have to wait until the daily utopium timer tripped over again - I started getting utopium again about 3pm-ish Saturday afternoon, but a couple of hours before the lumber yard timer ended I started getting 10 coins again, after only harvesting my usual 25u from trees. Has anyone else had this problem? I can't remember and don't have time right now to trawl back through the posts. Not going to use it again until its confirmed working.
When I activated the lumber yard, it allowed me to collected (close to) 25u right after I activated it, which was long after I already collected the first 25u. The next day, I was only able to collect 25u while the timer was still on. So this leads me to believe that the lumber yard is on a different timer than the regular daily 25u, meaning you can only get 25u out of a lumber yard activation, not 50u.
