You beat me to it, but yes level one is $250K. So jumping to level eight seems to be a low risk strategy.
Stay in 11 before making bigger regret. There are two glitchy ways to get u fast. 1. if your game crashes in certain condition (for example clicking game center in achievements), after restarting it will boost all your buildings: coins increased, construction completed, new clones arrived. So you can use this to get a very fast development with quick construction(without paying u), quick coins and invest them in casino for quick u. 2. if you have negative amount of alistians, it will automatically fill requirements for level 1 animals in mission freely. So you can quick complete u-rewarding missions in the lower-left slot like three's company, foursight and high five. Thanks for developers honestly admitting satisfaction of current difficulty curve; plus the trap of 100u-cost mission rewarding that useless glass decor without warning. That totally removed guilty feeling of using bugs.
to Ivan Thank you very much for replying players. I totally agree your strat of focusing casual players, actually I myself is a casual player -- I spend 2 - 5 minutes a day on this game, just with sharp eyes and will to discussion. (or in your statistic posting on forums is hardcore behavior ) You did very good at making the game friendly to new players, with quite a lot starting lands, some u, and instructions of basic operations. The problem might be: The starting land gives a illusive signal that people can freely play, but in fact lands will be the primal bottleneck a while later. And price of everything is increasing ridiculously fast with a very flat smooth incoming increasement. In my previous game save, I had been stucked there, my next expansion costs me a weeks income, and I know with that sicky 10 lands I can only make a small tiny step forward, maybe only 10% cps increasement, with the next next expansion cost will double again. And operations are irreversible, people can move buildings around, that is cool, but it is impossible to remove wrongly developed jobs nor buildings, and no way to degrade. That setting kills all the hope for people who stucking around level 13-17, and once they found that there is a optimized building sequence, it feels like.. be fooled. So I understand you want to 'do something about' church and casino, from many posts of discussion since I revealed it, you must hate it. I just wanna say: to kill this shortcut, it doesn't seem a good direction of improving gameplay experience. Just like you said, give player a solid reward for daily check, to encourage them take a look everyday. From my own experiece and other posts, casino is working well, but mission doesn't. Spend 9 animals to get a stupid million. Seriously, for casual people who didn't upgrade much in research lab, 9 animals needs 90 press+hold x 30 seconds, have you calculated that? Samething on the 100u gene, it is not as easy as people said. I never reached daily 25 u from tree. It's crazy to play boring whac-a-mole half an hour just for 1$.
Thanks for all contributors. I just wondered, I was 130 lands at level 11 before donating a lot; and as you said, level 6 is 80 lands, that matches. But in O475's information 110 lands is the cap before level '9' increasing 16k to animal shelter. I think that would be the way of reading. I consider the level showing in land watch represents 'current' level but O475 read that as 'next' level so he thinks 110 is level 8 and 120 is level 9? Anyway, 110 lands is safe. So that should be: level land (withou donation) animal cost casino cost 9 110 250k 500k 10 120 266k 500k 11 130 410k 770k 12 140 omg that will be a very big number The reason I got level 11 is level 10 only raised 16k for animal shelter, so I thought it wouldn't be much as well. Obviously, I was cheated, that was a trap. Don't go level up after 9.
Thanks for the level, cost chart, makes me gladi stopped at 120 land atm I just finished casino and im maxed 120/120 land have 100u and make 476 cps so its a casino spin every 17.5 min with this setup working on getting more as i go, only have 1 astroglass house atm, and 2 bronze plaza
keep it up you will get much better, will get to 10- min per spin. Feel free to delete residences when needed.
Think you are missing out the point. Most people do not play like this and the strategy was known before we launched, but it required full and complete information of the game before one could understand it. I was debating the need to nerf the strategy before the patch went live, but decided against it. We'll definitely modify the way casino and shelter scales up if this ends up being too powerful. It is not something I hate! I actually love it that smart players have discovered it and are using it to their advantage. As for players getting stuck, we're constantly tweaking the numbers to get it right. Land expansion does NOT double. It's balance with how much CPS increases per level actually. Early game, your CPS actually increases at a very fast rate. The irreversibility of the game is something we're working on. We will either introduce systems that allows players to restart with U earned being retained or put in more systems to guide players to fill up duplicate jobs, get trees, decor, missions, shelter and casino. From testing, if players follow that path, the gameplay is smooth.
I think you're partially right. There truly is a very important thing I missed: because of OCD. I don't like duplicating people with same job in my town -- at least when I complete 210 jobs, they should be 210 unique clones... That probably is why my cps increases slowly, not acting like what you've tested. Besides, tree rewards now don't scale up as well. In level 1 when I get 1000 coin pack from trees I actually earned 10% of expansion. But in level 2x, I believe that nobody cares 1000 coins. That makes expansion slower and slower and slower. Anyway, l will stop harsh complaint about balance. Thanks again, and sorry for inconvinencing. In addition, I have found another fun in pixel people today. I remember there was a post saying that players can remove clones in hotel by clicking button, just like slaughtering animals in HQ. To make the city be more like a utopia, I plan to 'murder' all male clones in hotel after female one of the job been created. There are 210 jobs, and coming sequence is half to half, so I need 420 people in total and kill half of them, of course this requires a large number of u and will take a pretty long time to achieve that. Now I wonder is there any way to recreate a female mayor as there is no formula for it? Many thanks
You'll need to duplicate jobs to fill up buildings - personally, half-full buildings bother me far more than duplicate jobs (I don't have OCD though). If you don't fill up the buildings you will earn money very slowly. With the hotel, you could sort out your clones so that the 210 uniques were in one part of your city, and the duplicates somewhere else, or you could sort it so that all the clones with the same job were together in the same house if you wanted.
The Casino/Church strategy isn't as big of a payoff for me as my "real" game generates a casino spin in about the same time as yours above (my cps is ~8,300). But it is fun to try something different with the game.
I think most (all) free-to-play games have this wall where casual players will either need to grind it out or spend some $ to help them accelerate their game play. I chose to grind it out. I did spend $ on some u as a thank you to the developers, since no money for them = no updates for us.
Here is my latest on the second game I started - Level 2 61/62 land 29/210 people Dreamer (got at 7 unique people, 2 new buildings / 5 buildings total) Salesman (got at 26 unique people, 17 new buildings / 20 buildings total) All of my residences are optimized to get golden hearts Need Explorer to get General and Bureaucrat for Politician.
Ivan - You have to confirm most choices like creating a building, casino spin, etc. But if you click Expand, it just does it. I have expanded numerous times by accident when I am trying to fast click restart timers. Was not having to confirm an oversight or intentional?
For comparison, at Casino cost cap I get a spin every 40 minutes. Of course, it's capped, so I can keep pushing my cps up if I want to...my only concern is the possibility of eventually running out of land entirely. Of course, now that extra buildings can be deleted it's not as big a deal. All the same, I'm going to wait on 1.4 and see what it looks like before I blow a huge amount of land, money, and u on more high cps buildings.
I hit my third gene at 38 unique jobs, 45 total. (I forgot to count buildings) One theory I have is that the "trigger" for the gene showing is the arrival of the next clone *after* you hit the unique job level. Ending up being the bereaucrat, which is a mixed blessing as I don't yet have the dreamer, which is the major bottleneck I have a bunch of wasted space on housing because, like bullseye, I was increasing my CPS. I think I may start over also, but kinda want to play around to see where the next gene comes at. We know that genie is at 150, so that only leaves Dreamer somewhere between 38 and 150. Eek. Currently at level 9, but if the only change is to raise the shelter by 16k, that may be worth it for an extra 10 land. (The next jump is CRAZY!) PS. How DO you restart the game? Delete the app and redownload?
Is this game reading my mind? Was stuck for 2 days at 204 clones awaiting a Trout to get Jack Frost gene. Can easily generate 25U a day from trees so decided that when I got to 125U I'd buy out the gene for 100U given the uncertainty in the time it would take to get the trout? So at 124U got yet another heart fill suprise and what did I get? You guessed it. I've never been so happy to see an old trout. Tree then pops up U 125. I have read the debate on casino / shelter strategy. Personnally I believe it would be a mistake to adjust the game to limit the success of this strategy if it is at the expense of the gaming experience for players whomuse a moderately optimised general level up approach (which I would guess is most common). Only a fraction of this forum will have found and adopted the Casino/ shelter strategy and of course only a very small fraction of PP players read this thread or others and hence will have learnt of it. If players have figured it out for themselves then they deserve the benefit of it. Although in my opinion if it shortens the game completion time for them that's not necessarily a good thing since they will not be enjoying it for as long. Thanks to the team for a truly great game in this genre; one that I think one day we will look back on as a classic.
Okay Ivan, I got the animals achievement bug again. This time I got an achievement for getting all tier 1 animals after getting a tabby cat; even though I'd already gotten one before and am still missing one animal from tier 1. Unlike when it happened with the bear tho, I didn't get the missing animal on the next surprise. Still hunting it down. As for my progress, I'm level 24, 169/171 land, just saving u for the hitchhiker now. Then all I need to do is swap the last few houses I had for shiny towers and I'll have all the land I need for the last genes. Bring on the next patch! Only achievement I have left if the hearts research. That'll take a lot of u. ;3; So what are the best buildings to duplicate as far as land usage (including housing) and cps is concerned? Trying to figure out the best things, since I only have one extra city square and one extra theatre.
Guys, two questions, thanks for your replies: 1.) I suffer from the bug with duplicated mechanics. That means, I have 1 mechanic working in the arrival center and 3 clones of her in the Hotel, blocking slots. Any chance to delete those? 2.) What happened to the 2nd update that was - as I understood - also submitted before the GDC. It can not take THAT long to get accepted by Apple IMO. There were problems, right, and it got cancelled?! Should this have had new content or just bugfixes? Okay, three questions... Thanks, have a good one Rosso
It depends on your play style, but to answer your question, if you don't play often, the Theater is the best profit vs. land and housing use. However if you can run the Tavern more than 6 times in 3 hours, or the Hero Mansion more than 8 times in 3 hours, the will both out produce the Theater, but it takes a lot more attention.
