Oh I cannot wait any longer!!!!! At least post en earl vid to calm us a bit! (or get us a million times more excited...)
Ok. It's a survival duel stick. Battling somewhat odd enemies. You get clovers. And then turn into a monster to overpower enemies. Hmmmmm sounds like somethig i know. Lol still looks awesome though hopefully you'll be finished soon. Lemme no if you need another beta tester
You have Minigore in the brain, Vinny. You don't get clovers in this game -- that's an icon representing luck, which is pretty standard in RPGs. And you don't turn into a monster -- you buy one to help you. As everyone knows, Minigore is a mashup of two different games: Asteroids (or, to be more specific, Super Stardust) and Pac-Man. Not even the dual-stick interface is original, as it had already been perfect by iDracula. If Pirate's Gold borrows anything from Minigore is the low profile of the hero and the comical characters -- but then again, there are plenty of similar examples that predate John Gore (Mario, for instance).
Ok lets not get into like a war about this. Both games are SOMEWHAT identical and it looks awesome and so is minigore. There. Settled
Here we go again If you would like to be 100% fair - Geometry wars (xbox version) was one of the first dual stick shooter anyway here some words about the abilities: Fire power - I thing this do not really needs explanation fire rate and power will increase Move speed - same here - you run faster when you buy a update Luck - yes Luck - more luck = you will find more and faster coins in each stage = faster upgrading, faster compleating of some "collect all coins" or "collect some items" quests Monster - jep first you have to buy the monster - if you do not have it you can't use it. Every upgrade lets you summon the monster after a shorter periode of time and you can longer control it. So you can much better plan, when you will use this helpfull creature. Btw - you could buy much more than you can see on this screen (for example hints, new/hidden stages and so much more) ooook now back to work... there is not much time

How far away is this game? I'm really interested to see the difference between this and Guerrilla Bob and can't wait to try it out.
Man whats with all this Guerilla Bob hype? It looks stupid and from the vids I saw, the graphics looked crappy and the shots took like 10 minutes to hit someone. Minigore ftw. Just from the screenshots this Pirate's game looks awesome though. I just hope it has multiple enemy types. That's where MiniGore failed. Cant wait to see a video...or just a release period. Hows it comin so far?
There's hype on Guerilla Bob because it looks good. Pirate's Gold looks good. Heck, since the most recent updates, Minigore is now actually pretty good, too. Not everything needs to be a competition.
Whoa I forgot to post the winning names so sorry! winning names: Ultimate Boss - Gorwin the Mighty Old Pirate - Whistlewickins (winners - Jarek and Jak56, special award for Rum idea - Grumps )
I can't say a lot about Guerrilla Bob, but I think these are two different game types. Anyway we have a lot of enemies, around 15 types. You have the big slow ones and fast little guys. Some will run straight forward and some will try to run around you. You want a list? Here you go: bugs, flies, golems, mummies, zombies, cows and much, much more I don't want to tell you everything! We will have a ready beta at monday - I thing this will be the day we will publish a video
Btw maybe you all should check this out http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=41497 win an neeeew iPod
Took part. I wanted to ask You guys: how about relasing this game in polish? Just a little patriotic scheme...? From players for players.
