Chain strike, backstab, and disarm were the ones that made that boss very easy with explorer. Its necessary to take the minimum amount of damage each turn against him(so weaken and blind can helf you very much if you can't deal with both his lackeys in a single turn) and geting relics or attacks that help against multiple enemies are also good(hook=1draw for each lackey, artificial stone=6 defense each turn, backtab=easy heal, chain strike=massive damage) (i won against that boss with only 1 relic) And the 10 % health is the only buff i got, and my package was disabled)
Awesome. You’re supposed to kill both enemies in the same turn right? Not kill one and leave the other alive?
He only summons when he have the "?" In his head, and it wastes a turn, so you can deal with one and do some damage on the second one, then the boss will try to summon more lackeys, and you can deal with his second lackey and damage him, you don't need to rush the fight, that boss deal a pitiful amount of damage by itself and sometimes he wastes turns buffing all lackeys and i think the lackeys have a set amount of life(25) so most of the times you can deal with both at the same turn if you got the damage up relic, multihits attacks do 15(flurry)-16(whrilwind) unupgraded thanks to the relic.(and you can remove the shoots if you want a small and fast deck)
Sorry I only unlocked Sword Master at the moment, but I already unlocked all potions and all packages, that is really helpful to help my characters to beat the game so it is worth it. Now I am trying to gain golds to unlock more characters, I think the Explorer is the most versatile character in the game, since you get more choices to select which card you want.
How do you all get so many upgrades?? My money gets eaten up having to heal and the once per game ship repair. Plus every upgrade gets super expensive after the first
There are some events could upgrade your card, maybe there are more events that I don’t remember. Spoiler 1. You will go through the cave, exchanging the Artifact Stone or getting a curse, then you can upgrade 4 random cards. 2. You will find a Curse hammer, which can upgrade your cards, every time you upgrade a card you will lose some hp, like -5, -10, -15 and so on.
Both those events+ the golden gun(i was trying to get inept swordman achievement so i only got ranged and skill cards,i had the artificial stone when i went through the cave but i prefered to curse myself since i was next to the tavern. And i also went to all the markets i saw, and i got a gold cup by batle reward and rum(buying) and the monkey event to have extra money. That was really the luckiest run i had.
I was planing to buy her next, she looks very interesting, i only got the cheap trio(swordsman, explorer, gunner)
Very very fun. Games can be really slow though. I feel like she’s good for getting achievements (no ranged cards, melee, tavern upgrade)
Already got those achievements, and the no melee run was actually suprising fun, challenging, and somewhat frustrating, the ranged cards are worse damage-wise than melee ones(besides smite, piranha, bide time, and maybe others that i didn't unlock yet) and also need you to do a ammo managment making your "perfect" run crumble to nothing when you see that you got no ammo cards on hand, 5 attack cards and only 1 ammo, losing a entire turn doing a single action, and both the no tavern upgrade(...i really love that cursed hammer) and the no ranged were easy(you can just remove the swordman shot and get only melee/skilll/consumables cards)
Oh yeah I noticed that too. Pretty sure that's a bug though, as no other cards or items are able to give Sword Master armor.
Interesting. She and the Admiral are currently the only heros I don't have, so she'll be the next thing I save money for. On that note, Carpenter is really great, and if anyone wants to know what Focus and Overload are before they buy him, each stack of Focus does +1 attack strength, and Overload makes it so you can't play any attack cards that turn. It's quite difficult to not overload yourself, especially at a boss, but I'm working on it.
Also, for the Carpenter, instead of using money to repair your ship at taverns, you have to pay 30 health.
I played this a lot when it first released and got the doubler but it still felt like a heavy grind. I went back on it yesterday and it seems a bit better now grinding wise? Just wondering as I can’t remember, is there any benefit from opting to finish your journey after a boss rather than just going until you sink or die?
I think it is because the developer added Gold*2 to the doubler later. Yes, if you think your deck is not powerful, it is better to quit and save your time to build another better deck, since you got the greatest reward after beating the third boss of the chapter. After beating the third boss, you got 1040 Gold and 260 Repute if you have doubler, however, you only got 440 Gold and 110 Repute if you beat the second boss if you have doubler.
Just unlocked the Explorer and beat the whole Chapter 2 at the first try, IMO he is the easiest class at the moment, I would like to try other classes if I have enough gold though. Harvest + Sketch/Mirror Image = Nearly Immortal, you can save a lot of money to upgrade/remove more cards as well.
