That happened to me several times in the past. So much so that while frustrating, I still can’t fault the game but what I find frustrating was the random event of loosing 50% AP. That was a bit too brutal for my taste. Other than that, I bought the AP upgrade and in more ways than other, I managed to finish the second map even without repairing. I have to repair only on the last map. But yeah, mismanaging or getting greedy can cost the whole run.
That -50% AP event is just brutal, and it happened so many time just after I purchased full AP in Tavern, so I purchased the AP early these days even I still have about 70 AP.
Just like what they say, life is random. Life at sea is much more unpredictable. Buying the -50% probably is a bit overboard. Not sure if that discourages spending coins prior or saving up for “rainy days”. I don’t usually save except when playing as the admiral.
I’m still new to this game and trying to win with Gunner before moving on. Are all the Stage 3 bosses really hard? I just got brutalized by these two pirates each with 200 health. Buffing each other and doing around 20 damage a turn. No idea how to beat that, I even has a semi-decent rig of updated ammo and issue orders alongside barrage and stuff. Do I need status ever run to beat the stage 3 boss?
Is good to have a status debuff or a way to buff yourself, since they can buff themselves and mark you, but there is one of the stage 3 boss that you don't need buff or debuffs to kill, a guy with a tresure chest, he has 300 hp and his tresure chest has 100, he can heal himself while the tresure chest is alive and after you destroy the tresure chest 3 absurdly good consumables are shuffled in your deck and he gets rage(its not needed a debuff to remove that if you can survive or kill him fast), and the consumables he shuffle do half the work of killing him, one heal all of your health, other gives you +5 damage, and the last one, makes you draw until your hand is full.
I think you can actually avoid the mark from the red bandana stage 3 boss by having shields. I don't remember if you have to completely block or just partially block the attack, but if one of those conditions occur, then you won't get marked. I think the non-red bandana guy still marks you though.
I think personally the explorer is my fav class. I can clear first map much more easily compared to others. I was able to beat the 3rd boss with 2 pirates rather easily by melee them down. I only lost a few HP through using Greed. Fun!
Thanks for all the quick replies! You guys are great. I still can't beat Gunner. Been following all the strategies but some of the bosses combined with bad luck just makes it too hard. Maybe I should try other classes and it gets easier with more progression? Tried strategies like the skill Focus and the ones listed and none seem to work. Haven't tried using marks, but it seems it's luck based whether I get those cards anyways. Got to Hard V on like half the classes on Night of the Full Moon but can't beat the first class in this game...
By the way, I found that Sword Master could use ARMOR actually, but only in specific situations. Spoiler I got the Delicate Pot, which gives me 5 armor if the hero’s hp is below 50%, I don’t know it is a thing lol.
I actually won with gunner for the first time after whining about it lol Cant say I feel like it took too much skill though, it took really good relics and the easy treasure chest stage 3 boss. Can also beat swordmaster if i pull that boss lol.
That boss can actually be troublesome as the swordmaster if you nothing to switch their postition besides the kick.....more than once it happens of you kicking the tresure boss away from you before being able to finish it off(but thanks to swordman lifesteal he keep himself healthy very well during the fight, so i guess that is not a problem unless on certain instances)
Actually she is okay, cards that dealt tons of damage could help you kill 2 enemies in front of her in just one turn easier, so if you don’t have powerful cards, try to collect them when you just enter the third map of chapter 1. For instance, if you are playing Sword Master, try to collect cards like Booster series(Strike and Shot), Bayonet Charge and Demonic Blade, these cards are really powerful if you could keep yourself alive in early turns to build up power, so cards give you survival abilities are necessary as well, like Hilt Blow, Agility and Predict, all these cards could give you dodge ability.
Just felt that Iron Hook is better than Kick, since you can hook anyone you want, so if I got Iron Hook, I would like to remove Kick in my deck, Anchor is good as well.
Whoa i was luckly, made a explorer with 1 relic run, i was against the boss that summon more people to help him, forgot he existed, when i saw his boss icon i was like: uh...who? But then i remembered him when i reached the boss battle. Luckly i had backstab to heal using his lackeys
Anyone else throw away games by accidentally healing their opponents...Or not targeting yourself with healing items...because I just gave up the best run ever. Explorer with Belt, two upgraded quick shots, upgraded greed, UGH
