Two big questions for you guys: 1) I'm new.. and just unlocked the 2nd ship.. ie: Navarre Corvette. So I have two now. I'm curious to know, if there is a "best" upgrade path to take for both the original ship you start with, and for the Navarre Corvette? I'm just not sure , given there are several upgrade paths you can take for both weapons and various ship parts. Not sure which are best.. Don't want to waste resources . 2) Is there a better forum out there? Nothing again here, but I dislike the format, of one large thread. Makes it very difficult to data mine the important things.. as I'd have to read through every page. Vs a typical forum with seperate threads per topic. This game needs a good forum, for people to discuss best setups etc. I'm still just starting so I'm still unlocking things. But if I had an idea of setups to strive for, that would help figuring out my upgrade path. Thanks, Zanatar.
Tbh, I've been dying to talk strategy with people. The main reason I keep playing is because I like to juggle character setups around trying to find the best ones. Haven't been able to find a different PP forum out there...Would also be nice if there was a wiki but who's got the time for that? In terms of best upgrade paths: For hulls, I prefer the Pirate Frigate since it has 2 cannons and I don't feel that having a 4th character would make that much of an impact compared to a 2nd cannon. Both Navarre hulls have its advantages (evasion vs more life) so personally I feel the difference is negligible. If you stick with this game long enough, you can have one of each. I would choose any nose that blocks enemy fire so that your cannons aren't taken out right away. Having a 15% attacking bonus is useless if your cannons are destroyed. For weapons, I find mortars and precision guns (because of the tri-shot) are most useful for pirate ships. For Navarre, having 2 crossbows (there are different kinds) is deadly because you can just take out enemy sails and then pound away at the hull...takes out Dandolo ships in a heartbeat..
Ok , thank you for the reply , I appreciate it. Yeah I really wish there was a proper forum for the game, so we can ask questions and discuss . I do have one more question: Concerning the spending of Flooz. What is the best use of Flooz? I currently have 81 Flooz, enough to purchase either: -Heroes Chest (Guarantees a rare Hero), or a -Legendary Chest (Guarantees a rare 3 star boat part). Both for 81 Flooz or: -Resource Chest: for 59 F. Not sure what's the best use. I'm pretty sure it's betweeen the Heroe's chest and Legendary chest. On the one hand Hero's are important and usefull, but so are ship parts and weapons. What do you recommend?
Depends on your need I guess. Definitely NOT the Resource Chest...I can't stress that enough... Regarding the Legendary Chest, the only thing I find useful in the Legendary Chest is the Excalibur crossbow. Those things have killed me plenty of times. The Galleon gun is exactly like the Precision gun (it has just about the same specs and has tri-shot) and I don't use machine guns in any of my Dandolo boats. Would assume there's a 1/3 chance to get each. Ironically, I have opened 5 Legendary Chests and I got 3 galleon guns and 2 heavy machine guns . For you, since you just got your Navarre, the machine gun is useless for you. So really you're hoping for the Excalibur crossbow OR the galleon gun. For the 4 heroes you can get in the chest, my favourite is Ash because his special disables enemy weapons & does minor damage. Monki B's repair ability is pretty useful too and he heals. Stellar is OK. Her special (4 fireballs) is pretty strong but where her fireballs hit is pretty random so I'm not her biggest fan. Violet is the only one I don't have so I can't really comment on her but she's a pain to go up against. She seems decent cuz her special turns enemy cannon balls/mines into frogs which heal her ship. Honestly...you can't go wrong with any of them. So my suggestion would be to get the hero chest rn unless you have a strong desire to get a stronger weapon.
Resources Zanatar, as far as which path to take re upgrades, you will soon see that some of the paths require very scarce resources. It's virtually impossible to have every ship take the strongest path as it would take forever. I have 6 ships, two of each...trying to have one of each type with a very strong asset part, for example the csaw nose on the dandolo ship (thanks twisby for talking about it earlier in the thread...love it#). You will never have the strongest of everything for every ship! Looking forward to the update!
I appreciate a good wiki.. but it does not replace a good forum. Again nothing against Touch arcade.. I just don't like one giant thread .. the data gets lost within. Has anyone come across a Forum Community yet for this game? I wonder if we could try and start one.. What about Reddit? I'm actually surprised there is no subreddit for this game yet. And yes I realize the wiki has a forum. But I have never seen use the forum for a wiki. There are never more then a small handfull of posts on wiki forums. I do have an additional question: How do you all handle the "Friends" aspect of the game? I feel I'm missing out. Because as sad as this sounds.. I don't have friends.. lol. at least not in the gaming sense. My facebook is comprised of family, relatives and personal real life friends. 99% of which are non gamers. There is no one for me to invite from Facebook. We need a different way to invite friends..the best way, would be from within the game. ie: Send a friend request. Please consider adding this. The Facebook way, just isn't going to work. Is having friends the only way to get pearls etc?
I don't have any friends on Facebook who play either. I played Happy Street for a long time, and added some people through the game centre to get the coloured stones, and luckily for me, a few of them play Pirate power too, so i've been okay with getting pearls. I'm trying to get the strongest parts for all my ships (I only have 4 ships, the 4th is a very weak pirate ship, but the other three have good parts) and it does take a long time. A veeeeery long time. So it's up to you whether you want to spend the time getting the best parts, or having multiple ships with decent parts. I'd love to talk strategy too, what do you think is a good team combo? I go back and forth between using 2 defensive 1 offensive charas or 1 defensive 2 offensive.
And this is the reason why you gotta be more active in this forum Next step is to add a FAQ on gamefaqs.com I didn't have any friends till a whole bunch of people randomly added me on GC just for Pirate Power. Now I'm hovering around 50 PP friends so I have to delete anyone who hasn't played it for a few days and add more active players. If you guys want, just PM me if you want to add me

I'm confused.. how are you all using Gamecenter for this? I thought the friends system for pearls, was only via Facebook? Your saying we can add each other in GameCenter? What's involved exactly? Because when I click on Friends (in Pirate Power).. the only choice I see is "Connect to Facebook" I'd ask you all to PM me as well too please.. I really want to add friends then.. this is confusing, there is no game centre for android? also for the devs, my game is lagging a lot lately and its not saving properly. example; if i upgrade a few parts and buy some things from the guy on the boat and then exit the game, the next time i go back on the game it starts me back where i was before i purchased items from the guy on the boat and all the parts i upgraded. please fix.
Has anyone gotten past Doge in Hard mode yet? I know a lot of people have asked about the Doge, but it'd be super helpful to know any characters that are particularly helpful in beating him! For anyone adding friends, you can add me thru game centre, my user name is smo_o
does anybody have tips on how to beat level 10 of the new doggy event? what characters to use? also do you shoot at the head of the dog or on its neck, where the hero is standing?
Adding via GameCenter For those of you wondering how to use Game Center to add people - it's very simple. Open your Game Center app(not the Pirate Power app). Game Center is likely on one of your iPhone screens you never use (like, swipe right three times to get to that homescreen or you have it stashed in a folder somewhere). Once you open that up there's a menu bar at the bottom (Me, Friends, Games, Challenges, Turns). Click on Friends. In the upper right-most portion of the screen, there is a + symbol, click on that - you can now type in the email or nickname of the person you want to add. If you add me, I'll add you back - type in "pokerman9061" for my nickname and Game Center will send me a request. As soon as I accept, we can start helping each other out in the game. For those of you on Android - I don't really know I would say try the Facebook route.
